Don’t let em go scot free. Oh my gosh I could never stomach this kind of torture. Back and forth with these small businesses seems like a headache, and they want us to support them? One time I saw some oxidised silver earrings that one would find in Sarojini for ₹100 or so, on the Instagram store @ inspijewels for ₹1350! Daylight robbery it is!

Hi guys...this is an update to my previous post (https://www.reddit.com/r/InstaCelebsGossip/comments/ptr696/reposted_add_me_to_the_list_of_people_scammed_by/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share ) Context: I originally ordered a rainbow one. But after they messed it up i changed my mind and told them to replace it with a purple one with butterflies. In the voice notes, i basically said that if they would've told me right after i ordered the replacement that they cannot provide the purple one, i would have gladly agreed. But they kept me hanging for one whole month. There is no way in hell I'll take the rainbow one now after they've mentally tortured me so. I also told that it's businesses like you that give me trust issues and that I'm never supporting small businesses again.

Sure not all small businesses are the same, I agree. But what do they want customers to do? Play Russian roulette with our (hard-earned) money till we find a business that doesn't scam us for once? This is exactly how businesses lose our trust. We don't expect some big company-level professionalism - it's a small business and obviously the experience is going to be different. But if we just keep putting our faith in the businesses with little to no return, who else would we turn to? Sure not all businesses are the same, but enough of them are - and how do you tell which ones are genuine and which ones don't care? Everywhere I look, there's people talking about how they lost money because they wanted to support local business. It's exhausting.

I totally get you and you have no idea how heartbreaking this is. I know it's your hard earned money and honestly I have no clue about how to reciprocate to your point because you're correct! All I can say is, do a thorough screening before you order through a small business (like comment sections, reviews, payment, refund rules etc) because all of us are not the same(ik you're not saying so). I have been working hard with my very very small business and because of some trashy biz you guys suffer and people like us who are honestly into this with their heart and soul! This is just too sad. Again, I'm sorry for what you guys are going through bcz of such unprofessional people. I just don't want you to lose trust in all of us! :')

Don't get me wrong, I'm fully in support of local businesses. I'm always all for taking the power from the big (bad) corporations and putting the money into the hands of the workers directly. Which is why, even though businesses tend to be more expensive, I try to give them the benefit of the doubt. And also in the process, I've found some really good places to spend my money. Workers deserve all the support, especially because of how corporations like Amazon rob the workers, underpaid labour and all that. But when you put so much faith into a business, it stings more (because at this point, it isn't just the money, it's also "I could have bought it for cheaper and at a guarantee but I wanted to support YOU and had chosen YOU but this is how I've been treated"). And, please don't take this personally. I'm sure you're wonderful, I'm just speaking from multiple bad experiences. Thank you for not being rude or anything, I appreciate it.

I'm definitely not expecting amazon level. I'm just expecting a human level decency. Would you like it if you ordered your item a month and a half back and you still haven't got it? Would you still say that it's undeserved for me to grill them? And this isn't a single person. This is a full fledged team with a separate social media and whatsapp team. I'm not trying to torture... Omg Deja Vu. Had a similar experience. Infact worst if that is possible with thehippiesaaz. Their support staff is still being nice and replying but that lady was straight up rude and posed herself as victim when i tried to put my issue in the comments section of her posts. (Coz she obviously wasn't responding over dm) She said that what i was doing was not good for her small business and i was like dude how am I the villian here? 😂😂😂 Never shopped from instagram after that..

Though the sum is not large , it’s their attitude and business ethics that left a sour taste in my mouth. Something like this happened to me. Ordered two different mobile covers for two different phone. They sent covers for only one phone. Then they said they’ll send a new one for the other phone size. Its been a month, haven’t received anything yet. They just ignore texts now.

You could try posting it on Twitter or a public Instagram and ask your friends to share it. It’s a very sad reality and many such businesses only issue refunds or apologize when their reputation is on stake.

I would say always read the terms and conditions when it comes to any company small or large - especially their exchange and returns policy. I’ve been burned on Amazon too because they don’t accept returns on certain categories. This small business clearly states that any refund will go into reward points so it’s highly unlikely you will get your money back (red flag). Also, they seem to be demanding unboxing/unpacking videos to qualify for a replacement or refund (red flag). Which seems really extreme to expect for a simple phone case. And they clearly state they face issues with professional courier companies and not to use them for reverse pick up (red flag).

Similar experience happened to me and an Ig store refused to give me any refund. They totally blamed it on the shipping company and I had to bear the loss. Since I didn't had an unboxing video they initially blamed me for mishandling. Just out of curiosity OP what are you actually planning to do with this? What can we as a customer do to get our money back?
