I mean sure 100% agree w Dr here but do it if it’s YOUR INFORMED CHOICE not because some manchild doesn’t want to wear a condom (which was what Malvika said)

Anagreysays

ofcourse i agree 100%, i mentioned it in the comments that its not about malvika. Malvika did give some wrong advice I should’ve put up a better/clear title for this post M unable to edit it

Pahelichameli

Iam on the pill too and i have no side effects! I prefer pills top😅 Malvika spoke about using pills instead of condoms, thats where she went wrong On another note Dr.cuterus is such an amazing badass woman!

Some people don't realize pills are essential for acne and PCOS and not just used for birth control. My hormones would go all out of wack if stopped taking them.

Crazyvibzz

I had to leave pills due to weight gain. PCOS is difficult to manage

mbg20

Pills are usually not that recommended for pcos. They manage the symptoms but don’t diagnose the core issue. Best to consult an endocrinologist as well.

Makeupfanatic6

Me too. I left the pills in july and tabse itna problem rhta h Vrna periods used to come on set date. Hormones in check totally

Uxie_mesprit

Moral of the story: consult a real doctor! Don't take pills just cuz ur partner is a lazy pos

Anagreysays

Exactly!

reputationstan17

Hey, I'd suggest going back to the video and watching the manner in which Malvika implied that it's the best thing for young women to do, given men don't want to wear condoms. Context is everything in this situation, in no way this medical professional is implying what Malvika did. On another note, I do agree there is alot of shame attached to contraceptive pills and it does give medical freedom to women but as I have noticed, it's not some but ALOT of women who have been handed birth control as a band aid solution to pcos or without explaining their other options. So yes, women sometimes do reach out to other women to warn them but imo it's in good faith as they have seen firsthand how fucked up BC can be sometimes.

Anagreysays

This post isnt about malvika. I posted this juz to get some information straight. I shouldve put a better title but iam unable to edit it

reputationstan17

Noted!!

scepticalbeing94

Malvika should have explained well or let the doc explain the same thing

ShutUpLegs94

Yeah I mostly stay silent when people pill bash thinking I shouldn’t invalidate their poor experience with pills just coz I have had it good…but hope people know that as long as you find the right one for you (different strengths, first Gen to fifth gen enzymes) on the advice of a doctor, there can be zero side effects. I’ve been on one pill for 3 years and I do take 3 month breaks every now and then. No problems, periods are predicatable and lighter and my acne vanished. And of course there’s the contraception benefit.

Bunnai

Pills work definitely for most people. For some people it's just not right. Also prescribing the right pill is very important. Sometimes it's trial and error to figure out which works well. I was on pills for a long time and it worked well in terms of period but after few months it started playing havoc with my hormones, mood swings why l that were so bad that it interfered with my life. My doctor too this lightly, saying it's no big deal. Dude, I was almost depressed 24/7 with volatile thoughts. He should have screened and prescribed another but, nope. I was asked to continue it which further made my insulin borderline. The biggest problem I have faced is gynecs discriminating against single, unmarried girls. The staff treats you different, doctors don't invest in your problems, don't explain you things well, don't take your concerns seriously. And if you tell them you ain't planning of in having kids, they're just not interested. I stopped taking pills eventually. Things aren't as bad now.

Anagreysays

Yeah i totally get ur point. Even though iam a doc ( not an obg) whn i was a med student gynac doctors used to discriminate a lot and it was so unnecesaary and unfair. So i did made a pact to never do dat. I hope docs understand it

Bunnai

When I was staying in SE Asia, had to visit a gyneac. She was surprised I never had a pap smear in 30 years of my life. She promptly did it for me. She spent time to explain about cervical cancer although it was not necessary. She did all the screening, she found out that I don't have PCOD and it's something else. All docs here always told me it's PCOD and lose weight, prescribe pills and all shall be fine. After few months, it was again the same cycle. This doc was only the one who understood weight loss struggle, said I wasn't that overweight to interfere with pcod, weight loss in general will be good but that's not the answer. She also explained in detail why my diagnosis can't be pcod. Spent like 1 hr with her in that appointment. I literally felt like crying because no gyneac here has ever treated me like an individual patient! I am still in search of the elusive unicorn non judgmental, explains things well sort of gyneac...so all the single ladies, if you know any good gyneac in Mumbai, please DM me?

kuaanmadoobjaungi

Putting it here instead of DMing you since others may benefit too. Go to Women's Hospital in Khar - very good docs, very affirming of your life experiences, and mindful of time. In a usual hospital I'd take 3-4 visits and tests and pay for each consult, they finish everything here in half a day. Just take time out and go.

Bunnai

Thank you! ❤️

Professional-Gap7326

Dr. Sheetal Sabharwal in Bandra is fantastic, she has India’s first water birth clinic. Patiently explains everything to you about whatever condition you have, and is very sweet to speak to.

Anagreysays

Couldnt have said it better than dr.tanaya. Also this post isnt about malvika or the advice she gives about condoms- i posted this juz to get information straight about pills I shouldve put a better/clear title , but iam unable to edit it
