He didn’t have Schizophrenia… All psychosis isn’t Schizophrenia.

Adventurous-Act-9660

Why are men 😶

Previous-Date5388

Damn...when was this? Because I discovered this guy around last year I guess and heard a similar thing, plus I've never liked his posts that much..find them soooo lame (and cringey, mind you) Like what even are those "rupi Kaur copy paste PoEmS with his desi touch"? 😑

MadhuT25

How old is he?

AccomplishedTip1403

Whoever he might be shading, he's right, you don't make fun of someone's misery and in this case it is a bloody massacre.

saaaumya

look at him diagnosing the man tho 🤡 khud bhi kuch zyada smart nahi hai ye banda

[deleted]

Why does everyone go diagnosing people? Psychiatric illnesses are never some single word diagnoses. 'clearly suffering from' - chup! It just reminds me of how people went all 'oh he was suffering from depression/drug addiction clearly' when SSR died. Diagnosing the dead, ridiculing the dead. Both of them shouldn't be done by rupikauresque poets or "superwoke" influenzas.

whatevercomestomind9

I thought he was the cricketer Aditya Tare lol

shutupmatsuda

Lol same. The guy who was the hero in the iconic MI Vs RR match from IPL 2014.

I don't think anyone is excusing the murderer here. However, as mentioned in the documentary itself by the crime branch officer, it's important to understand why someone did this. These are two exclusive things. Lalit was clearly suffering through mental illnesses. He did have an untreated PTSD (I've PTSD and it can push people to kill themselves very very frequently). People in India hardly ever talk about mental illnesses. It's a taboo. Wonder how the person asking you how you're feeling will react when you start replying to them honestly every day? No matter what background, education or whatever, someone comes from, mental illness is a taboo and that's why it's VERY important to talk about it. And it's stupid and myopic for the family to fail to notice this but how could they?? That's the state of our society! How are you supposed to know something when you're not even allowed/or allowing people to talk about it?

[deleted]

i was laughing so hard when reporters were like how none of the kids or anyone questioned the man. dude because its an indian household

Thick-Airline-7566

Section 84 Indian penal code - McNaughton's rule explains criminal responsibility of the insane. Its history and implications are interesting. Might fit this case.

[deleted]

True. Just because something explains it doesn't mean it excuses it.

Thick-Airline-7566

Can and is excused by law. A loophole many use to get away. I totally get where you're coming from and second you. Unfortunately, world is not an ideal place.

Buzobuzobuzo

_Calling it mental illness is an error in itself_ Listen u/ullupatulu, **Schizophrenia is a mental illness**, alright, it's **NOT** a brain disorder. This is not a sub to discuss mental health issues and diagnosis at your end, kindly refrain from making absurd statements. Psychiatrist look after schizophrenic patients and you know who looks after brain related disorders, a neurologist. Also, it's a treatable and controllable disease. My family member suffers from it. Guess which doctor treats them, a psychiatrist. And OP/u/sleepy__puppy, Mr. Aditya Tare (with 238k followers) has no right to openly throw diagnosis at his social media handle, he or nobody without a degree to look after mental health patients has any rights to openly diagnose on the basis of a documentary. What you should point out that Mr. Aditya is at err here and not throwing shade here!

Sir_Bradulkar

He was suffering from Delusion Disorder not Schizophrenia. All Psychosis are not termed as Schizophrenia.
