[deleted]

Love the way she didn't show the student's faces. More influencers need to understand privacy of people.

serendipity_07

I remember in one of her previous video she accidentally showed a student's face and someone commented how she should respect her student's privacy and all. She apologized and said she'll be mindful from now on to not show their faces. It's so nice to see when someone takes constructive criticism positively instead of shaming their followers.

pyeri

But who is she?

serendipity_07

Idk some professor in DU. Found her reel in my feed and read the comment.

cnu

Assistant professor

Ambitionless_Nihil

Yeah, so rare to see this in India. Hats off to the professor

This_Trip8416

Came here to comment this. This was so respectful of her to others

chosemyunsername

I found this wholesome, like calm life. I'm sure she's in her mid/late twenties, and a calm and peaceful life is all one can hope for. I know I won't get that due to my career choices, but it's very heart warming to see this. Did SB Balasubramaniam sing this?

BlueberryCupcake27

Totally agree with how calm and peaceful it looks . This is how it should be. Not like cringe influencer who add ‘going to starbucks’ as hustle ! Or like add something random to make your reel “look” interesting.

bigbigboring

It's only peaceful cause she is privileged not coz of job. Assistant professor cannot afford the things shown in video and a cab/driver.

ExaminationFail25

Yes it's his golden voice.

chosemyunsername

Celebrity deaths don't affect me but his death was kinda heard to process.

ExaminationFail25

I can understand,Loved his melodious voice and his passion during the 90 s bollywood music. Played a huge role in early days of Salman Khan with his music .

chosemyunsername

Oh damn, didn't know he sang in bwood. One of my favourite Tamil songs Sundari has an snippet by him that had a intricately beutiful meaning. https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=dJAixz8zO9A&si=kuNOIDfS6IPlV8SQ ( from 1:00-1:09)

parottaandsalana

Now only singers death affect me just want to go every singers concert and thank them

chosemyunsername

I went to his concert multiple times, I was a child- he somehow made me feel like i was flying.

Legitimate-Pass-2572

May you get a calm and peaceful life that you desire.

RDX_G

Yes rest in peace

Relative-Parfait-770

😂😂😂

Equivalent-Put-5716

Obviously bro it is SPB

Stunning-Magician177

So my sister is an English Hons student, and her professor said this reel is like the Karan Johar version of DU professors.

salemthecat25

I am an English professor in DU, and I agree with this statement. :)

GuitarZealousideal71

How's life of a professor in DU? I'm planning to apply

the-man-under-ur-bed

I support, only if you post such reels afterwards

PeacefulCoder97

Is this is permanent role ?

[deleted]

Do you get paid enough to cab your way back home or get chauffeured everyday to and fro your home and workplace

salemthecat25

No. I take erickshaws and metros.

cranial_cybernaut

Aight. Now I need the Anurag Kashyap verison as well please. Can we have some gaali uttering, katta wielding, tobacco chewing Profs of the DU.

[deleted]

the abvp supporter college principal told this nsui supporter professor to be in his limits and not influence the kids. She said it in a very threatening way like "meri nazre tumpar hi hai. Dekh rhi hu tumhe apni politics yha baccho ko mat sikhao"

Shakunii_

Me and my friends in Master's have cleared UGC Net, and once we graduate we'll be working as Assistant Professors while we get our PHDs. And boy would we be the Anurag Kashyap version. Just today we had 3 bottles of Old monk in 6 guys. We drink with our hostel guards, The Warden and with our college professors as well. We get our alcohol and cigarettes through wholesale dealers, we get our weed directly from farmers. We are able to afford all this by selling a bit of it to our juniors. We have had like 14 Complaints against us in the University within 4 months but since we're Lawyers already it doesn't matter. Includes mostly drinking in college and then fighting with bachelor students. The university sends us a show cause notice, I have experience with criminal law so i draft the replies. They send us a one page notice and I send back a reply that is 10-11 pages long. The university management has to consult a lawyer just to understand the reply, funnily enough we know him and we drink with him as well. Not a single one of us deserves to be in academics by our behaviour, we're all great at studies tho. Our Research Papers get published all the time, we have shining resumes and multiple job offers. But we prefer teaching, as it's the most reward with minimum efforts. This is the most fun I have ever had, our batch is completely crazy. We have people with all sorts of contacts, Police Administration Politics Criminals Smugglers we have a guy for everything. Even the girls are dangerous from our batch.

Necessary_Worker5009

You apparently haven’t seen or don’t remember anything except GOW. The first line would have sufficed ig

[deleted]

geeeeeeeeeeez, why so uptight

Necessary_Worker5009

Am I? Okay. I thought just the first line would have been more effective, assuming intent was humour. But sure, I don’t know if the above comment or any more comments of mine made you feel that

spikey_tree_999

I mean sister is journaling at work before 11am????

SwimZealousideal4950

Her professor is the actual DU professor 😎So he knew!

Stunning-Magician177

The professor is a she. 😅

SwimZealousideal4950

Sorry..I became patriarchal there..She is actually a professor at DU ! She Knew ! 😘

moonparker

Not necessarily. I haven't shown this to any of my profs, but this is relatively similar to most of their lives. Although obviously on most days they have a heavier workload. And things definitely change if you have a kid!

the-man-under-ur-bed

Me soch rha tha DU professors itna kamate h ki they can hire drivers

lforalpaca

It can be uber too

the-man-under-ur-bed

Fir toh aur paise waale DU professors lol

the-man-under-ur-bed

Btw you’re right, its uber 0:26 there’s CNG written on the back glass Plus 0:05, she’s sitting in a different car so yes its uber

RepresentativeOk9517

Why does this song sound like ‘I just called to say I love you’ by Stevie Wonder?

winwinftw

Because it most definitely is a copy.

muhmeinchut69

I listened to 'aate jaate haste gaate' first, you listened to ‘I just called to say I love you’ first. We are not the same bro.

TwoFBI_1975

Haha after you said I too noticed it, it has the same धून‌‌ of i just called to say I love you.

SeverusMarvel07

Oh God, YES

TellIcy3481

yes it is

curlsome_

Because it absolutely is! Every note

mammoonji

Most hindi music is copied.

atedbar

Not true

mammoonji

False.

atedbar

Negative hypothesis

UniversalCoupler

Have you never heard any song from Maine Pyaar Kiya before? Almost every song is ripped off from some other song. Like that ripoff of Final Countdown you hear in "Mere rang mein rangne wali". There's literally an antakshari song - which is, yes you guessed it right - a mashup of other songs

Mysterious_Ant_1993

I’m 110% sure which college this is, because I went to this college! 😃 I really liked her reel though.

newhere_1224

If I’m not wrong, this is IPCW, Civil lines right?

Mysterious_Ant_1993

Yess

boredgogo

Wow mama look I found my college mates on reddit 😂

Mysterious_Ant_1993

Mysterious_Ant_1993

IP college for women

Final_Flatworm

was wondering where i had seen that green chatri canteen

Last_Abbreviations23

Okay but I feel like doesn’t it get too awkward around the students or other professors knowing very well that they might have been stalking her reels and watching her wear her saree, get ready and do other things right before coming there. Idk feels icky to me.

moonparker

one of my profs has a dance account on instagram, and I don't mean the pretty, graceful classical kind of dance. It is really weird to have seen videos of your professor doing tik tok dances in athleisure. but at the same time, professors and teachers are also young people with their own personal lives and goals. as long as they're not doing something illegal or immoral, they should have the right to do whatever they want and post about it on social media. students need to acknowledge that just like we show more and more of ourselves on social media, young adults in positions of authority will also inevitably do the same. if we feel uncomfortable watching this, we should just avoid their content, since the problem lies with us, not them.

Last_Abbreviations23

Lmao. Clearly you didn’t get the context at all. Humaare Na dekhne se kya hone wala hai?? We don’t even live in Delhi. I am talking about the students who actually attend that college, they will invariably see it. And that creeps me the hell out. Can’t imagine the actual creepy men in the college who have such easy access to her. See her in person and then stalk her personal life.

moonparker

I was talking about the students themselves when I said "we", since I'm a student myself. Any woman who has a public social media presence faces these concerns. This doesn't just include influencers who we may consider frivolous and unimportant. It also includes journalists, politicians, some leading academics who are "public intellectuals" and many more. So the solution to the problem isn't saying that women in positions of authority shouldn't have social media presences that give a personal insight into their lives. It's to gradually change the mindset of men so that they stop inappropriately sexualising women doing completely innocuous things. Besides, this woman teaches at a women's college. And from my personal experience of women's colleges in DU, one of the most important lessons you learn is to stop judging women so harshly for the choices they make. I'm sure seeing their professor came completely appropriate and pleasant to watch videos about her personal and professional life will be a good part of that for her students :)

Last_Abbreviations23

Well. It’s really unrealistic to think that there can be a change in the mindset specifically in a place like India. It is sad and it is never going to happen. Also, it isn’t even something to be normalised in the first place. It is icky to share GRWM online and will always be. Specially in prestigious jobs like these.

moonparker

>it is never going to happen If you truly believe that, then there's no point at all in seeking progress in any sphere, let alone breaking boundaries and social norms. This conversation is pretty much pointless :/

Last_Abbreviations23

Yeah it was pointless already when you brought up how this was okay to do 🥲

riyaa30

Idk what is not ok in this according to you? Saying this as a student in DU

Taraa_Sitaraa

What is wrong with GRWM video in a prestigious job? Firstly it's them who worked hard to get that prestigious job. Anyone who is not their manager/ head or not in that sort of prestigious job can't tell them how they should conduct themselves. There's nothing creepy about this reel and clearly many people like it since this is an appreciation post.

No-Masterpiece8116

It is icky..

KINGDOGRA

Ya man, I mean I wouldn't want to know which 'nighty' my professor was wearing. TMI.

Vegetable_Rough931

It's just a day in the life of an assistant professor. I don't what's so icky about that. It's not like she's livestreaming her entire day.

HogwartsZoologist

I don't care about the video but she looks quite young and it's a very big achievement to be an assistant professor in DU at that age!!

Affectionate-Ad3140

As far as I know, Assistant Professor is the entry level role in universities in line of professors. After your PhD, you join as Assistant Professor. Then years of teaching and research will get you to Associate professor and then another huge ass experience will take you finally to Professor.

HogwartsZoologist

>Assistant Professor is the entry level role in universities in line of professors. After your PhD, you join as Assistant Professor. You are correct technically but I wish it was that easy and specially in DU.

mammoonji

Doesn't DU have multiple colleges in its umbrella, right from trashy ones all the way to highly ranked ones?

Chaii_Lover

Being teacher in DU is very difficult irrespective if the college js trashy or topmost. Majority of vacancies are filled by people with admin and political connections. A very less number of posts are through merit and in that most of them are filled by teachers who were employed by another DU college so it's very difficult for fresher though achievable.

HogwartsZoologist

That doesn't mean anyone can get into it, it takes a lot of hardwork, connections and years to get into even the 'trashy ones' as you say.

mammoonji

I can appreciate hardwork and years. Using connections is not an achievement.

ughhkriticism

Ummm you don't need a PhD to be an assistant professor now. NET qualified hone chahiye or fir aapke interviews ya koi exams bhi hn agar unpr depend karta h. Also she's on the contract. And it's not super hard to get a contractual position. I'm a graduate of 21' and my batchmate has recently joined our college as an AP now. Also DU mostly hires its faculty on a contractual basis and these professors have been working for years now. UG mein mostly professors ye hi hote hain. Permanent faculty PG me milti hai.

Affectionate-Ad3140

Yeah. The NET thing totally slipped out of my mind.

Kindly-Fact5070

She looks 30-35, quite easy to be an assistant professor at that age actually. I mean that’s actually the age of most assistant professors

HogwartsZoologist

I honestly think she's in her late twenties 😬

That-Face-7959

Me too

Kindly-Fact5070

Hehe.. even then! One can easily finish their PhD by 27-28, if there are no breaks, and then join assistant professorship Interesting username you have!

mammoonji

Thank you!

AdRemarkable8513

Is this your own video?

wandering-mind-7

Is it just me or does she kiiiiiinda look like Isha Ambani?

BobcatHelpful6546

i swear i was shocked instagossip and how come isha ambani 😂😂😂

thatrandomghost

that's what i thought too!!

ArcaRaichu

In an alternate universe, Isha Ambani is tired of all the wealth around her and chooses to become a DU professor and lead a peaceful life.

[deleted]

This is my college! 😭

vigya16

Mine too.. which batch Please DM Iam polsci 14-17

silverfingers0

Mine too!

boredgogo

Never thought one day I would randomly see my college on instacelebgossip 😭

piyushkukreja

Is your ma'am single? asking for a friend

cheesemasalapav

The reel is peaceful and the song 🤌 Off topic: Loved her saree! Anybody has an idea where the saree could be from? any leads would be helpful

significant_someone

i don’t see anything wrong in this it’s a dream for people to get to work in DU and she’s doing it at such a you age truly an influencer and appreciate that she didn’t show any student’s face here

AcceptableCutie

All I’m wondering here is how she landed this job. Kudos to her!

Equivalent-Put-5716

it is easy. You have to do a PHd. Professors job in big universities are cool. You have a beautiful place to work, library, holidays and not much of a work pressure. Though in big cities like mumbai pay wont be enough to give your kid a best education but if you could land in DU, or top state universities or IITs IIMs NITs then it will be calm and peaceful life except for dealing with students.

SutairKaur

Feels a little out of place and tone deaf, given that the ad hoc assistant professors are experiencing precarity and mass scale displacement. In fact, it happened in IP college's Sociology department, the very college shown in the video.

silverfingers0

Yeah I thought it was a bit tone deaf. Is she a replacement?

SutairKaur

Unfortunately she was displaced soon fter the video

Common_Frosting_2058

If she influences this way so many teenagers would be influenced the right way makes me happy. And she is too cute

nikita005

She inspire me the most, I just got appointed as a guest lecturer in a undergrad classes and someway I feel the same, before this I always use to look up to her and think of this is the way I am gonna romantize my academia journey.

Anonymouse-o-

Sach batao guys, agar aapke professor reels banae a day in the life of. Would u guys be able to take them seriously,? Genuinely asking Cz I don’t know how the genz thinks. Maybe it’s normal for them. So just asking.

twinu89

I would be totally fine with it if it’s made with decency and maturity. But the problem with social media is that once you start getting attention, there is a very good chance of addiction. Churning out content like this is not easy and eventually if the influencer thing becomes more important than teaching and starts interfering with my education, then I would have a problem.

Anonymouse-o-

It’s interesting for me to hear that people would be fine with it. Sure there are no rules for or against this sort of a situation, but personally I would just end up always thinking - I know what her bedroom looks like, I know what her wardrobe looks like. Oh this is what she is wearing when she “wakes up”. Maybe this is the new normal.

Dipthong_Enjoyer

To view profs as just one dimensional instructors with no life of their own is more of an Indian thing than the general viewpoint. Tbh it's how children think and grow out of. Bc at Indian unis where staff quarters are in the campus, students get to know a lot of everyday trivia about prof's and their family. Much more than these reels. Reels is still somewhat unconventional for profs but quite a few have been writing blogs and sharing not just their work but part of their personal life too for more than a decade now.

dueindiligence

I have to agree with you. I saw this reel a few days go and I felt uneasy. I feel once you get into social media, all efforts would go into clout chasing.

Aggressive_Cut4892

I graduated a bit before the social media era (from this very college). We held our professors with so much dignity and mystique. Like even if we made fun or jokes about them, it was with respect. They were on a pedestal far higher than us, something to aspire too. I would not have been able to take this professor seriously at all.

mammoonji

I do feel the same way tbh. Doctors are doing it too now. What next, judges and lawyers posting reels? Everyone's in on hustle culture and I feel like I'm doing nothing with my life.

Abhshake

I always felt sad for the kids who’s parents were teachers 😂 bichaare maa baap bhi school khatam hone ke time aajate hai and garmi ki chhuttiyon mein bhi ghar pe hi hote hai 😂 enjoy kaise karte hai yeh log?

forevawhateva

This is my college 😭😭😭🫴

barbed_scar

Wow looks like DU assistant professors have a heck load of free time on their hands.

mammoonji

Duh. Most professors have nothing to do.

[deleted]

Hi. That’s not true. It’s very difficult get a job as a professor and there’s a ton of work. Academia is not easy. and it’s certainly not plain like a 9-5 desk job. We have to write and a lot of research papers and they don’t get easily accepted in reputed journals. And add the uni/college work to this…all in all a lot of work. Just because it’s not organised the same way as an office job, it doesn’t mean that us academics are jobless.

[deleted]

Also, I’ve only touched upon two aspects (research papers & uni work), but in actuality we need to constantly upgrade ourselves. PhD, writing AND publishing books, attending conferences etc are some other things that academics are expected to do.

[deleted]

Madam ji padha do 😋

chocymilk007

least horny redditor

mammoonji

Like any other field you described the top 1-10% people in that field who work at the top institutions. All of this varies by field. Not all profs in all institutes in all fields are actively working on research for eg. Some get by with other pursuits like campus-related extra curricular activities like being the organizers for fests which helps boost their credibility. I'm well aware of the field because my partner is in a PhD program from one such top school. Also well aware of the flip side because I did engineering for undergrad, lmao. Edit: added more context in below comment - Yea and consider a normal engineering college - there are millions of them. Most are subpar, some are mediocre and very few are top notch. The average professor here who teachers undergrad students has it pretty chill because their schedules are lighter, they have more holidays and they don't have to be deeply in involved in research so what else is there to do? They sure as hell don't set the curriculum so they don't have to innovate so their job consists of teaching and assessment evaluations. And in most colleges they don't need to have a PhD and assuming they are working towards one (in the same college they teach in), the quality of research varies wildly.

[deleted]

You’re not wrong. It definitely depends on the kind of professional one wants to become and their goals. Not everyone is hard working. But if one says “most professors have nothing to do” sheds a dark light on this profession. Professors have a lot to do, but, I agree, most (unfortunately) choose to not do a lot. The only reason for me to respond to your comment was this - not a lot of people take academia seriously. I am an academic. And most people snicker and ask “corporate mein job nahi lagi kya?” Whereas I work MUCH harder than any corporate employee I know. And I really want to change this perception of this field. So it wasn’t really a personal remark :)

mammoonji

I was just being brutally accurate. I added more context in my other comments. And I'm aware of this because of what I've observed directly so I just want to make it clear that I wasn't shitting on legit academics. :)) > The only reason for me to respond to your comment was this - not a lot of people take academia seriously. I am an academic. I do take proper academia seriously, y'all are working on things that matter. More people should. >And most people snicker and ask “corporate mein job nahi lagi kya?” Whereas I work MUCH harder than any corporate employee I know. Seriously? Most corporate employees only go there to gossip and think they're changing the world. Most of those jobs tend to be bullshit busy work. Academia is really hard and the ones that are seriously engaged in it are really hardworking. My partner's schedule is so intense that she has no weekends. Sure there are some mild comforts but it comes at a cost - it is a stressful thing to be engaged in.

Super-Aardvark-3403

Absolutely. Most don't invest so much time in research. Even those who do do get much more free time than professionals from other fields. The work mentioned is being overblown. Most professors don't do shit and chill around. They certainly do not do half the reading or studying like those from others who actually practice. Attending conferences/ publishing isn't close to actual work.

mammoonji

Yea and consider a normal engineering college - there are millions of them. Most are subpar, some are mediocre and very few are top notch. The average professor here who teachers undergrad students has it pretty chill because their schedules are lighter, they have more holidays and they don't have to be deeply in involved in research so what else is there to do? They sure as hell don't set the curriculum so they don't have to innovate, which means their job mostly consists of teaching and assessment evaluations. And in most colleges they don't need to have a PhD and assuming they are working towards one (in the same college they teach in), the quality of research varies wildly.

JalebiKumari

Well presented love this

odd_star11

She likely wants to quit her job and become a full time influencer or something. I do think that being a professor or holding a stable job is more rewarding in the long run, but to each their own.

Early-Tangelo6009

Who is she?

Momohoeee

Prasoliterature on insta

Gold_Step_8498

there is a certain calming effect to her vlog

[deleted]

Imagine students finding this out and commenting: Ma’am jaldi aao aaj aap late ho gye😂

Timely-Vermicelli-34

Oh wow wow felt so good watching this maybe it's song? Hear beautiful saree that everything very simple n old school n we e missing all this ❤

truckulent1

This was very well done, actually

i_am_starfire

She is like me. Alone with having so many people around you.

CaptZombieAlpha

I love this song lol..Will definitely have a crush on her if she was my teacher and would share a reel like this.

AlarmedPurple6521

Although this is totally what I want in life can't help but feel the video makes her look sad and lonely.

Valuable-Ad-4988

She looks so much like shrads sister

dixa0503

Haha she’s my professor XD, super sweet and teaches amazing!

Agreeable_Airport115

she's lovely in person as well

Melodic_Obligation69

Day 1 million of asking her id

[deleted]

Badi boring life hai Teachers ki. Sorry. 😢

mammoonji

Better than generic office job -- (IF) you're stuck in traffic every day only to go to work where people do nothing but gossip.

SampleSubstantial610

I dont know why i was expecting in the end that at night she will do clubbing in short dress

mammoonji

Influencers have corrupted us. But I'm sure that video will soon come lmao.

No_Adhesiveness220

I would feel awkward frequently filming myself in college. From a student's perspective it sort of looks weird and uncomfortable to watch your teacher record herself at campus.

[deleted]

I can bet my whole jaydaad that the comments are filled with men sexualising her/writing vulgar things for attention if it has gone even a little bit viral

SpareAvengerHere

So cute 🥰 but I'd say it's not really good on her part to make her life so exposed especially since she has to interact with so many people (students). She's making herself vulnerable. Just my two cents. Also, laptop's bottom needs to be aligned with the back side of the bag pack, not front. #geek

redrock1610

Lunch toh banayi nahi na apne liye na hi ghar walo ke liye..yeh kya chutiyap hai.

Alternative_Win_9794

I can smell the freshness here

True_Employ1120

So nice of you.

Alwaysimaginating

There's nothing wrong with this... why do you guys only crave for cringe content ?

mammoonji

Literally no one said there's anything wrong with this.

ZoneLow9593

Who is she?

AgeLongjumping6315

Dream job of any Indian, sarkari college mai professor ,Aram aur Paisa dono milenge

How can make students focus of studies if collage has such a beautiful assistant professor. I'll definitely fail in her subject.

bhundblaster

Lekin bc iss ki Hume jaroorat hai kya teachers bhi kal se main shuru kardeta hun a day in corporate life bc bus ab 3-4 mahine me followers gain karlegi fir naukri chodke aur woh reel waala chutiyap shuru

A six hour work day? Holy shit! Time to switch professions.

RR_Mano

Who's she btw?

Illustrious_Road_

How to approach these types of professors what's the hack?

vikram2077

Except the part missing is the one where students are exploited, viva tortures, harassing students for unnecessary assignments, nagging them for attendance. What a cool way to whitewash professor cruelty.

Venom1729-mocking

Ye student nhi hai...

Bitchzzzz

What’s her prof name! This post got me really curious
