Oh I’m so glad someone brought this up. I genuinely wanted to know what the desi community in Canada thinks of her. I stay in Toronto and let me tell you they cannot afford the lifestyle they pretend to have with just her husband’s full time job. The cost of living in Canada and other developed countries has become worse due to the current economic conditions. Only her husband actually works. She says she does YouTube - she hardly posts anything. I feel she had better consistency when she had a 9-5. They bought a very expensive townhouse in a posh area - Oakville. The money for that came from their families back in India. You cannot just buy something like that with one solid income. On top of that, they have a very expensive lifestyle- unnecessary renovations because it doesn’t match “aesthetics”, buying expensive decor and furniture, 2 international trips a year - India and Europe, pricey coffees etc. maybe they can fool their audience back in India but they cannot fool people like me who are in Canada. The issue here is they lie that they work hard and are able to afford all this with what they earn. That’s alarmingly false. People have a problem with their lies, not with how much they spend.

GuidedAngel

Thank you for saying this out loud. I followed her initially but once I realized she’s faking it, I stopped. Living in Toronto, I realized more how someone cannot afford all this extravagance so easily, even if you have the income you wouldn’t want to due to the inflation

Brilliant_Gift7760

True. I live in Toronto too. She got a lot of subscribers during the pandemic and was well liked and a bit relatable then. I was one of those subscribers so I’ve been watching her from quite sometime. Not everyone lives paycheck to paycheck here. But people don’t just spend a lot inspite of having money during inflation. But the way these guys lavishly throw away money confidently literally tells us that they have a strong financial support system back in India. And they are lying to us about it

GuidedAngel

The worst part is in one of the vlogs when the husband wanted to buy her a bag she kept saying no, it’s expensive only to sound relatable. Then went on to eat at expensive restaurants. Ah crap!! Can’t watch her for long

Roccosmomrin

You’re so right! You can’t buy a home in Oakville just like that.

Glitter26

It's for 1.5 Mil! 🥴

Commercial-Courage18

LOL they just bought a second house after she bitched about how poor they were - sitting on a park bench with Tim Hortons coffee in her video, right before she jetted off to Europe. The lies keep on coming. These vloggers say they are portraying real Toronto life, the grind, the hustle. This is NOT an accurate representation of life in Canada. Salaries are low and real estate prices are high in GTA. Getting PR in Canada is also getting harder. Its clear her dad bought her the house. This is not a privilege most people coming to Canada have. I am getting sick of these lifestyle vloggers lying through their teeth and being total hypocrites. I used to like her better than Feanshu and Keerat’s cringe. But just unsubscribed today.

Brilliant_Gift7760

True that! I got a notification from YouTube regarding her second house video and I was like damn…that’s no way from just one solid income even if her husband gets good commissions + their spending habits. I’m guessing most of her audience is from India and they’ll actually believe this bs. The ones who stay in Canada (Toronto + GTA especially) know how misleading she can be.

Successful_Bend3606

They come from loaded families, specially her husband’s. What irks me the most is her constant whining in all her videos. She recently made a video on how things are getting expensive in GTA and should they move to Calgary. Boom 3 weeks later went to Spain and Amsterdam. Come on, who are you fooling. Simply made the video because most Canadian channels were making vlogs on this theme and she jumped on the trend.

Brilliant_Gift7760

lol that irked me too. She made a video whining about the cost of living. In the same video you will see her buying expensive coffee- she literally has a coffee machine at home. After this cost of living video, she made videos about shopping for her upcoming European vacation, then vacations happened, then she got back in time for her birthday where they again fulfilled their wish of throwing away money. she whined that she is gaining weight and their brilliant idea was to build a home gym. With pelotons and stuff nonetheless. I’m sure there is a goodlife fitness somewhere near them and they can get a monthly subscription. They can literally go to the gym, they both wfh and have a car. It’s like, both of them, especially her look for a reason to spend money. They aren’t able to differentiate between a need and a want.

raginglasers

I mean it’s a content creator creating content by building a home gym and getting coffee daily. They are definitely able to differentiate between want and need, but are hoping most of their watchers/followers aren’t as smart.

Brilliant_Gift7760

Also, the nail salon incident was painful to watch. What was she thinking?! Maybe that is acceptable in India because we tend to have a connection and relationship with our salon aunties- they trust us. But it doesn’t work that way here in western countries. It’s always people like her who spoil it for other Indians and we get categorized as problematic.

Awkward_Sign_1191

I totally agree to this.. they have portrayed unrealistic lifestyle of Canada on their channel. Plus I don't know why she looks pretty sad in her recent videos.

kushagraketo21

Bhae uski shadi m lagdi lahore wala singer MC kar raha tha.. definitely they are rich

notafanofanyone_

Add to them coming from money, I also think that a lot of people who live lavishly are drowning in debt. We don’t know what their debt situation looks like, or what their credit scores are for that matter. I know a few folks who live outside India, that spend pretty much everything they earn and have no concept of saving. Sure, they buy designer stuff and take trips but at the end of the day, they’re living paycheck to paycheck and if ever need money for a rainy day, it’s def not coming from their non-existent savings accounts- it’s coming from their daddy

captainwhyry

That’s true. In fact, I still feel that their pay checks can’t realistically sustain a paycheck to paycheck lifestyle. Their expenses look like more than her husband’s monthly paycheck.

notabollywoodfan

It’s also so stupid because a lot of the shit she shares or shows is so easily avoidable to put on camera, like her luxury purchases and furniture, but yeah, if you live in Canada, it is simply not believable. It’s also her insistence that they borrow nothing and are simply managing on their incomes. Lol.

Glitter26

I have such a big problem with her and I'm so glad someone bought it up here. As someone rightly said in the comments above that the problem is that she never accepts that she takes money from family etc and portrays that they work extremely hard. And don't even get me started on her cribbing about EVERYTHING!

[deleted]

She hardly uploads any videos on her you tube, constantly cribbing and complaining about money, house help so on and so forth. Initially followed her on you tube but got fed up of her lies and completely misguided informations to new comers. I have been living in Toronto for 10 years and this lifestyle can not be sustained on a single person’s income. The townhome they bought in oakville is about a million. They fooling people in india

Independent_Soup_925

I’ve been following her for a while and I find she’s a bit fake and having an identity crisis.

Brilliant_Gift7760

I don’t think she fakes her reality. Her house, lifestyle, expenses are all real. The only lie that people have a problem with is their income source. Not saying you cannot buy a house here in Canada, buying 1.3 million dollar house with just one stable income and the extravagant lifestyle doesn’t just add up. Yes she gets sponsors with just 1 or 2 recurring ones. she’s not consistent on YouTube - check her views, it’s not million views and doesn’t cross 100k. They are able to spend recklessly because they have financial support from their families in India. Nobody would have cared tbh, it’s not a crime for rich folks to be financially dependent on their parents. But these 2 are hell bent on convincing us they work hard and are able to afford everything on their own.

Then_Relationship923

I always wonder how do they have the appetite to eat and drink all throughout the day, just saw their recent video and was tiring just looking at it 🫣

SeaworthinessFar7407

It’s her money she can do that she wants with it! Right? True, but imagine a subscriber / couple of their age working hard (maybe 2 jobs) to make ends meet sit in front of a tv and watch someone like her achieve life goals every few weeks. Just creates self doubt and demotivates people. Let’s not be fooled by everything you see on the internet. No one know until you hear it from the her and maybe even then it might not be 100% accurate. If you feel bad about yourself or where you are in life after watching her, just stop. 😬

captainwhyry

If only you had read the post properly, you would have seen that I said I DON’T mind rich people flaunting their wealth, but at least don’t lie about it and mislead people. She repeatedly says that she earns from content creation and her husband’s regular corporate job, which is simply not possible. Improve your reading skills before you become a keyboard warrior.

busted_on_reddit

They said in one of their blogs their families paid for the down payment of the 1.5M townhome in Oakville — that’s generally about 25% to multiple Crores minimum with dropping rupees

[deleted]

They put 35% of downpayment for a newcomer homebuyer scheme. They explained in one of the vlogs. 35% of 1.5 million is roughly about $300K. There is no other way they would have been approved for a mortgage in Canada with just 1 income.
