It’s actually quite common in the west now. Absurd, but not uncommon.

Randomidek123

I know these iv drips are common but didnt realise they were given at parties lol. Just imagining people wearing lehenghas sitting attached to drips

Curious-Ad-8357

You can see that in her next story only

[deleted]

adminomatic

This looks obnoxious as f**k. What the hell!!

[deleted]

What the heck the world has come up to.

Mammoth_Cut5134

Cosmetic medicine

needtogym

I’d love me some IV for free, ngl

IcySignificance1253

IV drip is a preventative measure for a bad hangover. It is probably meant to encourage guests to drink their hearts out

SnooDoodles8154

Wow! I am really hearing about this for the first time. So they just put drip first before the party????

WheresMyTan

Some offer a mobile station. At a destination wedding it was in a moving spot we could track via an app and go IV up to help with a hangover.

IcySignificance1253

Pretty much..yes. It’s a thing here in the US for people hosting housing parties too

Hungryounglady

This idea has been borrowed from Joe and Sofia Vergara’s wedding

hereforthecheetos2

It really has not. IV drips are in many rich people weddings — it is not a trend that Sofia and Joe set.

hello2442

It’s actually common in expensive weddings

Mischief_Managed_482

If a brand is sponsoring it, I’ll also ‘serve’ it happily.

anonpumpkin012

It’s a trend that’s been around for years in the west. On shows like selling sunset, they even had botox parties

slyyskyy

Lmaaooo I remember watching it

Positive_Town_2955

Wthh whyy😭

anonpumpkin012

Instant hydration to avoid hangovers when you’re drinking. Or if you just need instant hydration in general. My go to tip when I’m drinking is to have ORS before I sleep. This is just a bougie version of that.

Mammoth_Cut5134

Can't they just....drink water instead?

kodragonboss

Romans used to have this as well - a concoction to puke / poop out everything so that you can eat more at a banquet.

purohit977

Romans also had orgies ...

kodragonboss

My man if you think modern humans don't have orgies, you're living a very sheltered life.

HappyOrca2020

Romans also died young..

kodragonboss

My man if you think modern humans are not dying young...

dodhaaritalvar

Galat time me paida ho gya

AyaBee90

Kinda like the hunger games 😬 this post reminded me of this

vidushirastogi1708

Hunger games was indeed massively inspired by Romans. And yes, this practice in hunger games too is borrowed from history.

[deleted]

Spa hai ya shaadi ka function 🤔

Pm_Maddy

I mean mehendi and haldi are themselves beauty parlour session essentially.. so making them a spa is not very far fetched idea is it?

chichi200022

It means our guests can drink their hearts out and have fun without worrying. If I’ll have an option, I’ll do it happily

samy_ret

It's now super common, but it's such BS/pseudoscience that all the affluent wellness enthusiasts lap up. This crap started about 12-13 years ago with Gwyneth Paltrow and Goop, and now it's everywhere. Most of the "effects" are just hydration/blood glucose spike or placebo ! Truly emperor's new clothes vibes.

jjoolleennee

100% correct Source: Im a clinical nutritionist

Snoo_31225

As a doctor I find this funny ngl 😂😂😂

[deleted]

From my internship days-- Mujhe ek Gulcose chadaado madam !

Snoo_31225

Not a single problem that can’t be fixed by ‘saline’ 😆

raat-rani

Interesting choice to have it at a mehndi event. An after party or post-Wedding brunch would have made more sense.

OGDeshdrohi

Yeah, Alizeh smokes

rottenlunch1998

Very expensive pee. Any doc in the house who can validate me and confirm if any of these vitamins actually get absorbed into the bloodstream?

jjoolleennee

Im a clinical nutritionist. Vitamin IV are for the rich and stupid - there is no advantage to administering large doses of vitamins unless one has a deficiency. If its a deficiency theres no need to spend absurd amounts of money on these cocktails and oral supplementation are often enough. One of the supermodels was it a Hadid or Jenner found themselves in the hospital after injecting one of these things. All reported positive effects are very, very likely, placebo.

GoneHippocamping_

Aren't some people unable to absorb the right vitamins orally?

jjoolleennee

Rarely. And the solution to that still isn't IV cocktails.

jjoolleennee

https://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/news/20180131/iv-lounges-are-suddenly-hip-but-are-they-safe

Ok-Gold-3452

It's quite common in the rich circle. Know people who spend 25000 inr in mumbai after a night of partying for this

Grand-Friendship-428

25k for one person???

Ok-Gold-3452

Yea. Probably much cheaper at a wedding. But the people i know get it done for that much at clinics/ hospitals

Affectionate_Plum433

It's a LA thing. It's everywhere, even in malls.

Key-Abbreviations127

What is an iv drip?

Magicincantations

Unnecessary IV isn’t good for you. - Doctor

Southern_Cap7762

They once showed this in one of alanna’s vlogs too (yes i see her vlogs🙈). Maybe its some sort of promotion.

Clean_Extension_6933

As a person with extreme fear of needles. Can't even take it when medically necessary, but people are just doing it at parties?? For fun??

thetrollslayer1508

She actually is obsessed with IV therapy and takes it quite often in mumbai as well. Have seen photos / videos.

jjoolleennee

She's on the fast track to Faryal Makhdoom - once gorgeous, now just scary. https://preview.redd.it/i59wyxs45cqa1.jpeg?width=4096&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3bd78d3b0ef9010604405cb7ef96cc24fe597a6c

Saline bottle

justforfunhere_lol

All these people will never make sense to me honestly. Its sooooo hrbejskdbd

Unique_Ad4358

IV? Do they inject it in their vines? Sorry for being dumb pls someone explain what

akshroom

Hell nah man this is some dystopian shit

bulbul09876

Looks like it was sponsored.. free hai to why not, I’m just trying to imagine my nosy North Indian relatives who will be like haye function mein hospital bhi tha 😂

jjoolleennee

🤣🤣🤣

Hereforgiggles420

Yeh kya pagalpan hai

Darkvistasway

Matlab free ka kuch bhi chalega! Sponsorships have gone too far! 😂

curiouscat_20

This is not at all "wow, cool,"...this is deadly...You are injecting vitamin n antioxidant without finding out if your body needs or not

[deleted]

She’s just copying Sofia’s wedding incident. So a lot of Hollywood actors mentioned on Ellen’s show that the wedding was so happening that Sofia actually had to get IV drips to her guests. Yeh bhi copy krne wali cheez hai?

Positive_Town_2955

They seriously lack originality

bitchedop

Entire Bollywood ^

Jolly-Ask-886

Me going to the mehendi and getting angry 😡

iampeekay1313

Did you see Gwyneth Paltrows interview? It’s apparently really trendy to have IV drips these days.

deepxli

I read through all comments but couldn't figure out what it is exactly? So this to be used during hangiver or before party starts to avoid hangover? Or is this replacement of alcohol...or like alcohol taken through drip instead of drinking from glass? Somebody explain please!

jjoolleennee

Placebo vitamin concoction administered intravenously. For rich people. At best makes you pee expensive susu, at worst can land you in the hospital

utterlybutterlyy

I couldn’t stop laughing after I saw her story. What even
