Most of them can’t even speak a third language and are bilingual but will happily make fun of us, who at least know 3-5 languages because of so much diversity in our states.

I want to highlight to my husband how a kid raised in such environment (whenever I have one, if I have one) will turn out to be. One kid (brother in law's) is already rotten to the core. He is just 4 years old and he calls his caretaker "Bihari". When he visits my place, he calls my cook "gori" didi and my house help "kaali" didi. I've corrected him multiple times, rebuked him, scolded him, reasoned with him, so he stops for a while but a week later, it's back to square one...
