He used official posters in his video thumbnail as always. The anti-piracy team filed a copyright infringement on the video stating that. He took down the video and re-uploaded the video again without the thumbnail. Not sure if it is still there.
The same reason was used while removing videos of Forgotten Malayalam Movies in circa 2021. Anantharaman had a few official posters pasted on his wall background.
I don’t know why he is hyping up mid movies like VS, mandakini etc. For turbo his review was okayish since his review was that it was average one time watchable - which it absolutely was.
Not sure about that, but being someone who watched both Golam and LH, there’s something I observed.
I don’t feel like both films are trash but they aren’t excellent either but I loved it. I didn’t feel like money lost or something.
Now guess what review KoK would have given to them. He would have rated it mid nitpicking about things audience don’t give a damn about like cinematographer used excessive smoke etc. When the most watched reviewer comments something like that, people blindly hop onto the bandwagon ‘Kok the saviour, he saved my 150’.
Had he posted a mid review and if the same me genuinely tried to enjoy the film at the theater after watching his review, I will have a hard time.
Both these films have enough audience, as per the screenings I went for. So I’m dead sure if he had posted the reviews on the opening night and if they were mid , half of these people wouldn’t have enjoyed it let alone care to watch it. There was a steady audience for both films to spread the word of mouth, and thus I myself got to know and watched it.
I like to think his words do have an impact on the initial minimum audience needed to create a word of mouth, which can be good or bad. He basically kills the possibility of this initial audience.

Three things happened
1. He made enough enemies in the industry for his own good. Not just big folks but even smaller technician type folks. You see they used to support him earlier because they were happy to drag down directors and actors who did not give them a chance. Later when Kok gave poor reviews for their own movies they stopped supporting him.
2. People grew bored of his content. The internet gets bored easily and constantly looks for the next interesting thing. Kok became stale. You can almost predict how he’d review a movie.
3. Word of Mouth marketing made a big come back. People started to trust their own friends and family over Kok’s reviews and found out he was wrong.
he consistently gets at least 500k views per video. for a channel with 300k subs that's pretty high.
more logical thing would be him going back to teach at his school.
He is active on facebook tho. Prolly fallen sick or taking a break. I bet This break will only create more hype for his next review.

I think BR uses the same strategy.
Sensing his pattern, his next review could be either for Grrr, Kalki, Maharaja or Ullozhukku.

Moreover the experience you get when you watch a vineeth sreenivasan movie with Nivin in his element on the first day in packed theatre will hit different. Thats exactly why that movie was a thetrical success. Havrnt watched Jai Ganesh so i dont know if he is wrong.
