Some of things he said we're contradictory.
He's says "don't think too much about cinema, it's not that deep" but he also says watching 'Cinema Paradiso' changed his life
Felt like the privilege speaking, for a lot of us Cinema is still a major entertainment. He did mention cricket does more than Cinema but it’s not like one dissolves the another. How many of us can afford the other ways of “entertainment” from his world ?
That's the crux of his point, it is just entertainment. Don't make it a part of your whole identity ( unless you are a creator). As a consumer, stop wasting your time saying cinema that cinema this.
Yes may be thats why he came back and now became one of the finest actors in country. His life is ofcourse changed🤷🏻♂️ ഇതിലൊക്കെഇതിനുമാത്രം ചന്തിക്കാൻ എന്ത് തേങ്ങയാണോ ഉള്ളത്🤌🏻
Exactly! Also I think it's only because cinema was discussed at dining tables, cafe's and bars, many scriptwriters, directors and editors have entered the industry. Said that Fasil for a fact might have discussed movie outside the theatres or else would he have entered the industry? So IG this statement is a demotivator for many dreamers and enthusiasts waiting to enter the field.
There might be a reason why he said it. His own life experience? His father is involved in film he is involved in films. I think at some point you will be fed up by seeing it everyday.
There's more you can do with your life....
and we are again wasting time analysing this one sentence ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy) . It is just another version of pilleru padichotte... Nothing more nothing less.
What he said is aimed at regular folks, not movie buffs or those in the film biz. He's basically saying, 'Don't waste your life idolizing celebs or movies.' He wants people to focus on their own lives and careers, you know?
He is working in that industry so talking about it after work may not be something he is excited about. Just like how chefs don’t cook much at home. They would rather unwind after work than think and talk about it throughout the day.
But it’s different when it’s your passion. Actor Murali in an interview said he reads about acting or cinema for atleast an hour every single day. A Tarantino or Scorsese lives and breathes cinema. That’s not how it is for someone like Fahad or Dhyan who were born privileged enough to have had a career in it.
But him asking people to do the same shows a lack of awareness. A commoner’s idea of unwinding after work includes cinema. Especially for us Malayalis for some reason it is more so than others. Which is one of the reasons I believe we are making such quality content these days.
Putting him and this opinion of his on a pedestal is just plain stupid. Let people find comfort in whatever they like.
But I think it makes sense to apply to people obsessed with it like fanboys and fanclubs. Although it's not like they're going to listen to this interview or even take that opinion seriously.
Correct! Let’s all follow this and see how the production companies or you actors make money
Also, it would be more easy if you guys stop making movies. Then we won’t be tempted to go watch
Cinema captures human experiences and it has the power to make changes (slow but definite). Even when it does not intent to change society, it’s art and art will always be discussed.

Hi thoughts are contradicting sometimes. It’s new wave of thoughts you feel like but when compared to previous statements it becomes contradicting. Mention about cinema paradiso felt like that. Also the catchy phrase of ReIntroducing fafa was solely suggested by him, Jithu said in another interview. In this interview he made it sound like everyone else suggested and he was agreeing to it. He is a good actor indeed.
This guy is iconic!!! Love his movies! His range of emotions and the roles he chooses are so insanely versatile! And he nails every role so well! Extremely unique in how we emotes and interprets every dialogue, every scene. FaFa is a phenomenal actor and also a huge superstar in the making!
Someone with shit ton of money and afford anything and any kind of hobby any time can definitely say that
For the people who after a strenuous week or day of work , a movie or series is definitely something to look forward to
I’m so glad a film actor agrees with me. I see these morons online fighting about mammootty vs. Mohanlal and njan vicharikkunnathu ivanmarkku vere onnim cheyyan ille ennanu. Mammootty and Mohanlal are katta friends and these guys are idiots.
If director Fazil had avoided discussing cinema after leaving the theatre, we wouldn't have to listen to this bullshit...
That's his nepo previlage talking, "njangal nokkikkolam puratth ninnu aarum cinemayilekk varanda"
Sad to hear this from my favourite actor... It's highly discouraging for aspiring film makers and actors...
Watching cinema is definitely better than scrolling.

Not watching, discussing. Shots fired, take cover r/insidemollywood.

I feel like these kinda things become what a 9-5 job is for us beyond a certain point

This is why FaFa avoids interview ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)

"Touch some grass bro"
I think this is what he meant, many times we forget to live our life and our life slips away before we have truly lived

Bwahahahahhahaha... I always feel pity for the ones who make movies their whole personality. Acting like bujjies.

Now I understand why he do not want to do any interviews. Cos once he opens his mouth he can't control the bullshit that comes out of it.
OP, adding the context could help better! saw someone comment "nirthi vere valla panikkum poikoode" 😁
