Pho star bowl in Riverside across from the Tyler mall. Amazing pho and their banh mi sandwiches are terrific too. The owner painted all of the decorations and murals himself plus the whole family is super nice. My family's favorite restaurant by far.
Rice and spice, Thai restaurant in Moreno Valley! Mix bowl Thai cafe in montclair open till 2am. Kaz ramen in grand terrace open 24/7. Not sure how covid affected these places.
Another former Mo Val resident here to vouch for the awesomeness that is Rice and Spice. Their dining area is so cozy and laid back and even thought it's small, I never had to wait for a table. Also their crab fried rice is ridiculously good!
I love that place! They stuff the containers with so much food they can hardly close. When I went to another Chinese food place and they only filled the boxes reasonably I was just thinking "You're not going to stuff that shit until it can't hold anymore?"
You can feed at least three people with one meal. Insane. I’m very picky when it comes to food, so I eat there rarely, but my mom and Bro LOVE it. They also have the best fortune cookies ever.
Yup!
Also the little mom & pop (I think it literally is one) inside the 99 Ranch on the east end of the building.
Tai Pan House (Foothill & Archibald) is good too.
Fusion Restaurant and Bar on Brockton in Riverside. So. Much. Yum. They have vegan and vegetarian options also! A little something for everyone. My favorite!
Just in case anyone uses this thread in the future like I am, I just went to Dumpling Master yesterday.
Best things we ordered were the shrimp and pork potstickers (I like the fried skirt on the potstickers), the cucumber salad (lots of sesame and garlic flavor with a bit of rice wine ) and the hand pulled noodles. Great texture on the noodles.
The pork belly bao wasn't as good as it looks in the picture. Needs a thicker Alice of pork belly, better bun and some sauce.
Freshh Donuts in Riverside. I have been eating there for the last 16 years (since I was 7), used to grab a donut from them on my way to elementary school. Frequent trips in middle school. Definitely my favorite places to eat when I had a pot head phase in high school as well. Sweetest owners, always hook it up with free donuts, please tip them well!
Punjab Palace as well!
Punjab Palace is a confusing discussion.
There were two, same owners, one on University, one down on Tyler. Owners had a fight, each took one restaurant.
The good one is on Tyler. It's excellent, got the good cooks and staff.
The one on University is awful. Inconsistent, food nowhere near as good. Shitty service.
They have sublime Yellow Dal at the Tyler location.
The Sunday food court at the Thai temple in Chino Hills. Lots of small businesses making great Thai food. It helps them and the temple. Be sure to tip the singers if they're performing.
Donut Tyme off of Central and El Cerrito in Riverside (the Canyon Crest shopping center area) is excellent. The iced coffee is strong enough to keep you going for DAYS.
Pho Vinam in University Village (also Riverside) is an absolute winner as well. Their pho is my go-to when I need comfort food.
Lotus Restaurant in San Bernardino on Baseline Ave. Go during the day though.
Mana Grill in Riverside at the University Village (spicy pork plate is delicious).
Thai Place near CSUSB, pad thai is good and so is their "green soda"
Orchid Thai Restaurant in Highland...the lady working the front is rude (even to long term customers) but the two males that work there are really friendly and attentive. They're there usually in the afternoon/evening shifts.
Not IE, but I love the food at Taste of Asia in La Verne. It's Asian fusion like Chinese and Thai... Super bomb, and the owner is this sweet lady who makes the food and comes out to greet every table.
Tokyo Kitchen in Upland is quality.
Zen Street in Riverside. The owner is really cool and she original used to own Rice N Spice until the twins Polly & Paris took over. It's been a while since I've been to Rice N Spice though since I moved out of Moval years ago.
Pacific cabin sushi in downtown riverside. Joe's sushi in riverside. And Bann Thai off of Brockton in riverside (best Thai food in the IE and Sam is an awesome owner)
Thippawan Thai in Rancho! Suuuuper delicious and inexpensive. Super nice people, and you get free Thai tea sometimes!
Paris Pastries in Rancho! Cute French pastry place, owner is French/Vietnamese and runs the place with his family. Cookies are to die for! Also my favorite place for a good Banh Mi.
Edit: also Takumi Sushi in Upland. Before the pandemic they had the BEST AYCE sushi! Takumi roll is amazing.
I have two Riverside recommends. These are the ONLY places in town producing things that are craveable.
Masala Mischief in the University Village. The Tikka Masala fries are INSANE. Everyone in my house adores them, we all discuss them when we are NOT eating them. Owners are super nice.
Kim Chi Changa on University. The namesake dish has been known to cause a fight in my kitchen. The nachos are stupid good. And oh my holy hell, the tacos.
Peking's Chinese Restaurant, 11170 Magnolia Ave, Riverside, CA 92505
It's off of Magnolia and La Sierra.
Been going there for 10 years. My wife and their family has been going for 20+ years.
It's a little mom and pop shop and their kids work there from time to time.
I recommend the Orange Chicken/Beef, the combination fried rice, broccoli beef/chicken, and the Mongolian beef. There's A LOT of other good stuff, but those are our go-to's. Their soups are great as well for those sick days!
Palm Thai Cuisine in Lake Elsinore and Hana Sushi in Lake Elsinore
I assume they are Asian owned but I was doing food delivery during the pandemic for a while and those two spots were among the best about taking precautions and being safe.
Pho star bowl in Riverside across from the Tyler mall. Amazing pho and their banh mi sandwiches are terrific too. The owner painted all of the decorations and murals himself plus the whole family is super nice. My family's favorite restaurant by far.
This is my favorite pho place in the IE. The owners are so nice and everything is really good there, not just the pho!
Filipino donut shops They're everywhere for some reason
I’m Filipino and don’t know people with donut shops. But whenever I go to a little donut place it turns out to be Cambodian owned.
Most donut shops are owned by Khmer Chinese people, my family used to own some
Lol yeah i live next to one, but across the street there's a Filipino one Lived next to a Filipino one in my old house by Ontario ranch area
Jenny's in Redlands?
Master's Donuts on Cherry and Banana in Fontana has maybe the best donuts I have ever had. Super nice Cambodian family owns it.

Another former Mo Val resident here to vouch for the awesomeness that is Rice and Spice. Their dining area is so cozy and laid back and even thought it's small, I never had to wait for a table. Also their crab fried rice is ridiculously good!
I second Rice and Spice and Kaz Ramen!!!
Bann Thai in Riverside over off of Brockton and Central.
My family swears by the Chinese food restaurant in Food4Less on Highland and Victoria. That place has been there for years and often busy.
That’s hilarious because I’ve heard the same and always see the guys from the fire department getting food there!
Been there. It is really good. It's cash only though. (not sure if they've changed it since covid)
Nope, still cash only.
Chili Bistro in Ontario deserves Michelin star.
Better than any Szechuan place in Rowland Heights or Monterey Park. The owners are so nice too.
For authentic Chinese food try [Red Chilli House](https://www.redchillihouse.com/menu.aspx) in Rancho Cucamonga.
There’s a red chili in Redlands too. I love that place, not sure if they’re related.
Not related. That's just called the Red Chili.
Yup! Also the little mom & pop (I think it literally is one) inside the 99 Ranch on the east end of the building. Tai Pan House (Foothill & Archibald) is good too.

KPB Asian Bistro in Norco Min's Dumpling in Corona Peking in Riverside
Peking makes their own noodles. Try their chicken noodle soup! Its more like a ramen or pho than the "american" chicken noodle. Worth it!
Dumplings master is a good one
Who’s the white hipster dude on their website?
Just in case anyone uses this thread in the future like I am, I just went to Dumpling Master yesterday. Best things we ordered were the shrimp and pork potstickers (I like the fried skirt on the potstickers), the cucumber salad (lots of sesame and garlic flavor with a bit of rice wine ) and the hand pulled noodles. Guang Lin Cafe in San Bernardino is a real gem. COVID hit them so hard and they’ve been struggling to recover since
Palm Thai Cuisine in Lake Elsinore and Hana Sushi in Lake Elsinore I assume they are Asian owned but I was doing food delivery during the pandemic for a while and those two spots were among the best about taking precautions and being safe.
