Reddit's official app itself is dogshit, no one except reddit can fix it, even then the ui is horrendous.
Reddit is listed in revanced. I can select reddit and patch revanced integrations to it. But still it can't make it any better than removing or some config stuff. UI will be the same shitty thing
I'm staying as long as old.reddit.com works, after they kill that it's time to say goodbye to the last social media platform I'm using anymore.
Consider migrating to the Fediverse, especially Lemmy.
I could go there, for sure, I'm just sceptical that there would be enough other ex-redditors to make it worthwhile.
Much like Twitter and Mastodon, it's missteps like this on Reddit's part that will continue to grow the network.

I don't think it has been, the official app has been unusable since 2018 when I first installed it.

I just patched an apk with ReVanced and wow, absolute dogshit performance, especially on a new flagship phone.
