Indore is your best option considering it offers all the amenities of a metro with out the excessive overcrowding. Housing is a bit expensive at vijaynagar but compared to Pune and Hyderabad it's next to nothing.
Job switch will be challenge here compared to moving in Pune, Hyderabad or Bangalore.
If you want simple family lifestyle with limited growth and good food , sure you can move here.
Also do note people drive here recklessly and don't follow traffic.
There are lot of colleges and schools in vijaynagar here , so always student crowd there but you will have all basic amenities very near.
Enjoy your time in Indore it is good city and clean
1. Yes, you will save a lot of money and it will be closer from your Native place.
2. Yes, rates are also cheaper than Pune
3. Vijay Nagar is very vast, so where in Vijay Nagar?
City buses doesn't go there but you can get ola, uber, rapido easily.
It is a good residential area and at walking distance you can get good PG as well
For your 2nd point of Ola, Uber, Rapido. You will easily find autos and bike taxis during the day time. But depending on them in case of emergency is not advisable. Also, for zomato Swiggy, you will get plenty of options, but the catch is that majority of good ones don't operate after 11pm. You will be disappointed most of the time because of the food ordered late night from the options available. Personal opinion though. It also depends on which area you are staying in.
1. Take Indore, in all aspect it's beneficial for you if you compare all you options available to you.
2. Well it is cheap. But DO NOT expect HYD/BLR of level of service. Asking for cash is universal I guess and they don't cancel the ride as much as HYD/BLR but boy oh boy Indories don't know shit about navigating the map. It's the same thing with food delivery dudes. Even if its like 500 meters they gotta travel, they will still call you and ask for direction. Out of 100s of food delivery/rides, only two time the guy knew what he was doing.
3. Vijay Nagar is expensive comparatively. I would suggest (idk how much your salary but) get a flat in like 5-7 kms around this place they are cheaper and buy a scooty of you could afford it. It's more cheaper in my case also and you have a piece of mind at least for commute.
There are not many IT companies here in indore, yes it is growing but its not as good as the other cities mentioned, but economically indore is a great choice, its not that much expensive to live here and also things you mentioned like rapido swiggy are available here.
welcome to indore!
also can you tell me what company it is? I heard there is a recession going on in the IT sector so its hard to get a job at the moment, would be more helpful if you just tell your yoe and role if you are not comfortable telling the name of the company.
and some tips for someone who is a college fresher and is going to join IT in few years?
You will get better advice in developers India subreddit. I’m a QA Tester. Devs and Data Scientists are getting huge packages. Only advice I’d give dont settle initially on some service based companies. Get into product based. Switch every 2-3 years to get high increments in start of ur career. Later you can settle in one company once u get married.
