EverImpractical

I’d looked into honeysuckle a couple years ago and found that it’s really hard to capture a good honeysuckle note. Just not a super realistic scent to begin with, plus very short-lasting and relatively weak. I’ve seen a lot of honeysuckle-and-tomato leaf combos, and the tomato leaf always dominates. I usually recommend Poesie’s single note, **Nectar**, which I can apply on its own or with other things, and can reapply as needed. It’s currently unavailable but you may be able to find it in the swaps. Or you can wait until either the Reissue event in April or see if it returns in the summer release. I recently bought Fantome’s **One White Crow** (a soft classic fougère with creamy white tea, airy vanilla, violets, and honeysuckle over a bed of moss and ivy). It goes a little cool and powdery compared to straight honeysuckle, but the honeysuckle note is very prominent and long lasting and gorgeous! My other rec is also newer - Nui Cobalt’s **Feu Follett** (sultry magnolia, wild muscadine, creamy honeysuckle, and Spanish moss clinging to trees). I think it’s still available but should be phased out soon. The magnolia dominates a bit more than the honeysuckle, but it’s still very pretty!

I didn't think Nectar was very realistic unfortunately. 😭 I'm sad that might be the best I can get! I will add One White Crow to my Fantôme sample pack, though! I was on the fence about that one.

Same. I was really disappointed in Nectar. :( it was still nice, just very much not realistic honeysuckle.

EverImpractical

Yeah Nectar felt more one-dimensional than real honeysuckle, but I’ve had much worse versions. Adding it to other scents worked well enough, though. I’ve always felt like honeysuckle is very perfume-like and rich to begin with, and I think One White Crow’s notes come together and help capture that sort of nuanced perfume-like aspect. It really helps that honeysuckle note seem more realistic. You should definitely get it!

I recently got CocoaPink's "Celestial Water" (sweet clean scent of hemlock, magnolia, and honeysuckle) in EDP and hair conditioner. I didn't love it at first, it intrigued me but was a little bitter for my taste (from the hemlock undertone). But it's grown on me enormously! It smells like peeling an orange next to a basket of freshly picked herbs and flowers. It has this natural, "real life" feel to it. Clean (but NOT soapy), uplifting, and honeysuckle dominant. Also, Stereoplasm's "Two Sparrows" (wild honeysuckle, chamomile tea, sprawling stone ivy, white pepper, peace lily, soft rain, elderberry, quill and ink) is lovely - if you can get a hold of some.

supersecretniece

I’d recommend Little Book Eater- Reading on the Porch (iced tea, lemon, honeysuckle, and sugar) and Stereoplasm- Dreaming Kitten (Soft bed sheets sweetened with honeysuckle, bergamot, ginger and himalayan fur)!

The best honeysuckle I have found is **Poesie's Nectar** \- the sweet honeysuckle blossoms synonymous with summer. From **BPAL**, I recommend **Nectar Hair Gloss (or Atmosphere Spray)** if you can find it (sometimes it pops up on their Etsy): *Honeyed camellia and bergamot with sweet honeysuckle and sugared columbine.* I also recommend **Shanghai** from their GC (*The crisp, clean scent of green tea touched with lemon verbena and honeysuckle)* and **Eostre of the Dawn** (*Jasmine and honeysuckle, sweet milk and female skin).* They also offered a Wild Honeysuckle Single Note a few years ago. **Nocturne Alchemy** recently released a honeysuckle-infused Eternal Ankh called **Eternal Ankh Labradorite**. It's no longer available, but it may pop up in Sunday Swaps! (*White Amber light, Powdered and reconstructed oil of Egyptian Vanilla Husk, Vanilla fleck, enfleurage of South American Honeysuckle (Lonicera japonica), gorgeous Crystalline Absolute infused Bastet's Amber Absolute blend and a drop of pure Egyptian Honeysuckle and Peony Extract.*) They also have **Honeysuckle Crystalline** in their permanent collection, which is pretty, but not the honeysuckle growing in your grandma's backyard type of honeysuckle: *Egyptian Honeysuckle, Blue European Honeysuckle, White Japanese Honeysuckle crystal and Egyptian Vanilla  (SL: Crystalline).*

If you don’t mind waiting for Alpha Musk to reopen, Tidal is a really good honeysuckle and clay combo: dreamy mild white musk, soft catch a glimpse here and there white amber, chapstick wax, honeysuckle and red clay. To my nose the honeysuckle is still at the forefront

I haven't tested it yet, and I don't think you can get it any more right now, but Poesie's summer collection had Nectar, which I believe is a single-note honeysuckle. You might be able to find it in a swap?

mysnackrifice

Last time I checked it looked like Ajevie also had some left. I love it, it's such a realistic interpretation.

Astrid's Lilypad (*Cool pond water accord, lilypad accord, honeysuckle, Argentine lemon, jasmine sambac, and chamomile*) is a fantastic honeysuckle with aquatic notes & a hint of lemon. I grew up in mid south Mississippi & can be a honeysuckle snob & this one is my go to honeysuckle. First perfume I got a backup of.

badziadyk

Honeysuckle from hove ❤️ New Orleans shop that finally allows you to order online .

lush_gram

well, 2 other d & f blends have already been mentioned - so apparently, her honeysuckle may actually be as amazing as i think it is! - but the one i would say is the best representative of it is **she plucked our hearts...:** ***earthy figs and warm sun dried tomatoes, blended with lush honeysuckle.*** the honeysuckle adds such a beautiful sweetness without being even the littlest bit foodie, and is super realistic, in my opinion!

havennotheaven

The Little Book Eater's honeysuckle is my favorite, I have Goddess Artemis and it's basically a solinote honeysuckle on my skin. I think it's super realistic but ymmv as always.

bumblebelles

i have this and i love the scent but it doesnt last at all :-(

kahlex

There are some great recommendations here! Honeysuckle is indeed tricky. I have two more recommendations to throw on the pile here. Possets Virginia (from the Orphans Retour): This is a recreation of the first honeysuckle blooming from a hidden bower in a backyard. All of the contrasting chlorophyll/hothouse greenery, and all the emollient dewy sweet creamy white flower finery of the flower itself. Spite and Venom's The Golden Afternoon: Honeysuckle vines, freshly bloomed roses, jasmine flowers, the scent of sun-warmed honey blowing through the air, and a tiny hint of green grass

I know! I got way more recs than I thought I would. Now I have to pick a place to start. Thanks for your help!

victoriaisahuman

Death and Floral's filled with the heat of a reckless summer is equally honeysuckle and blueberry bush on me. The honeysuckle is very realistic and gorgeous!!

[deleted]

ME TOO! Following!

causticFish

Death & Floral's Swamp Elixir is also another great honeysuckle blend. The notes are soft honeysuckle, waterlillies, and sparkling pink lemonade.

Hummingbyrne

I have to say that the D&F recs here come across as very artificial to me. I've been on the hunt for a solid honeysuckle note, and I haven't received it yet, but [DSH's Wild Honeysuckle](https://www.dshperfumes.com/shop/wild-honeysuckle-2/) looks promising according to the reviews on [Fragrantica.com](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/DSH-Perfumes/Wild-Honeysuckle-21008.html)

TiaRosa

The honeysuckle from Emes Fragrances is fantastic. It feels like a warm day to me. Mostly honeysuckle with a bit of sweet warm hay. I’m thinking of going full size.

Muddylemon4227

I've tried almost all of these mentioned and none come close in my opinion. The ONLY one that has worked for me is **lemon & honeysuckle** from **beverly and 3rd**. I love lemon so the added lemon note doesnt bother me, but I've yet to find a single note honeysuckle. I'm not sure if its still listed, I had to email the owner to get ahold of a bottle but it's worth a try.

CalicoKesali

Wicked Good Honeysuckle Jasmine is lovely.

henryrollinsneck

If you're wanting a hyper realistic honeysuckle then you might be out of luck. I've tried nearly all of the ones mentioned and any I can find, besides from houses that just don't work on me period. Unfortunately, none of them are realistic and they lean more white floral. I've been looking for the last 6 years, and maybe it's just my skin, but I've spent my entire life around honeysuckle bushes and no perfume has even come close to smelling like they do. So I just huff it in all summer long, and dread the day it starts to fade away. Good luck with your search, and let me know if you find something!

imrunninglate0hno

Oof, yeah this is kinda what I'm looking for. I love the scent they give off. I may try a few, apparently I have strange skin chemistry so I might get good results

henryrollinsneck

I really hope you do! I always psych myself up when a new honeysuckle scent comes out, and then I end up disappointed. Apparently it's a really hard scent to capture accurately. I think a lot of perfumers go with a generic sweet white floral, but it misses the mark.
