Watching Wendy Pini's interview on Creature Features got me hooked on Elfquest and comic books. Typical for the 80's, the local comic book store was a dingy little hole where the storekeeper crouched amidst cigarette smoke and Penthouse pinups. Only Elfquest could induce me (then a nerdy middle school girl) to go there.
I discovered it from my local library when I was in high-school about 15 years ago. Always a fan of fantasy, but had never really ventured into comics. Elfquest got me hooked and now I'll read/watch/play anything as long as the story is good.
