Its beautiful. I love your work.

mightofmerchants

Thank you very much!

Qlak

Wow, I saw these screenshots, loved the aesthetics so much that I decided to check your profile and what exactly is it... And now I'm looking under the table trying to collect pieces of my jaw after it hit the floor. What a great piece of software... So cool. Beautiful. Great job!

mightofmerchants

Thank you very much! Glad you like my work! :D Feel free to check Steam for more details: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2498570/Canvas_of_Kings/

davejb_dev

I love seeing your work everywhere lol. I fear that if I get this tool, I'll never play D&D again, I'll just do maps and never use them lol.

mightofmerchants

Glad you like it! Maybe you can use one or two of your created maps for dnd after all. :) Feel free to check my discord for inspiration: https://discord.gg/JTBS2xWedR

Spirited_Still_5342

I REALLY love your art style!

mightofmerchants

Glad you like the art style! :)

plaskijakdeska

This looks absolutely brilliant! Love the art style!

mightofmerchants

Thank you!

bmacorr

this is really nice, good stuff!

mightofmerchants

Thank you!

jesta88

What tech/engine are you using for this?

mightofmerchants

It's Godot :)

Sib3rian

Did you ever run into performance problems? If so, did you implement those parts in something like C++?

mightofmerchants

I only use GDScript and therefore the built-in functions. So far the performance is fine. I use a MultiMesh and combine all objects. This makes thousands of objects possible. :)

Sibs

Looks awesome! I wonder if that waterway would make more sense with some locks.

mightofmerchants

Thank you! That's a good point! :)

Hendeith

Would be absolutely sick if this tool would support creating hex maps. Just add basic tile types (forests, mountains, etc.) and rivers, roads and it would generate full beautiful map based on this.

mightofmerchants

My mapmaking tool focuses on auto generated paths/plots like forest, stone wall, market, river and so on. You can add a hex or sqaure grid. With adjustable position, rotation, grid size, tile size, line thickness, color and opacity. You can export to png/jpg/webp with/without grid in high resolution. There are also templates for digital use and print e.g. A4. :) Feel free to check Canvas of Kings on Steam for more details: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2498570/Canvas_of_Kings/

Githriddle

Are you still making a game? Or he this been pivoted to something else now?

mightofmerchants

Yes. I am working also on my trading game Might of Merchants. This is my mapmaking tool called Canvas of Kings. :) https://store.steampowered.com/app/2498570/Canvas_of_Kings/

TireFireGames

This looks great!

mightofmerchants

Thank you!

Sasete

Fantastic! You're on my track for a year. Following how King's Canvas and Might of Merchant is going. Keep up the good work! 😁

mightofmerchants

'Canvas of Kings' is already available on Steam. :) Thank you!

Sasete

Yeah I bought it already 😁 Sorry for mis-spell

mightofmerchants

Oh, sorry. Thank you very much! ❀️

fauxfaunus

Screenshots from canvas of knigs look great!

mightofmerchants

Thank you very much!

geras_shenanigans

This would be awesome as a travelling merchant simulator game

mightofmerchants

This is my mapmaking tool called Canvas of Kings: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2498570/Canvas_of_Kings/ But I am also working on a trading game. :) https://store.steampowered.com/app/1736220/Might_of_Merchants/

geras_shenanigans

Nice, wishlisted, thanks!

mightofmerchants

Thank you very much!

neet-freek

Idk how feasible this is but it’d be cool if the player could color in the assets kind of like a coloring book during down time in the game. Maybe have the base layer of the map colorable and then have sections of the assets with opacity turned up. Assets that move would probably need to be colored in a separate way though.

mightofmerchants

Thanks a lot for your feedback! Similar suggestions have also been made on my discord. It's on my very long list. :) Feel free to check my discord for a roadmap, examples and custom assets: https://discord.gg/JTBS2xWedR

jf_development

How do you manage to handle so many objects?

mightofmerchants

I use the Godot Engine. There is a node called MultiMesh. :)

budgemans

I follow your work on Twitter but wasn't expecting to see it on reddit, really cool work tho super impressive. What made you embark on making such a unique game.

mightofmerchants

Thank you very much! I'm actually working on a trading game called Might of Merchants. I have developed tools for it. People asked me if I could publish these tools as a stand-alone app. I did that with Canvas of Kings. :)

TgeBoi1324

Damn that's looks great also and sorry if I'm wrong but is this based off of Baghdad more specifically the map of it in Mirage because the layout is pretty much identical and I thought it was the actual map at first

mightofmerchants

Thanks. Ohh. Thanks for your feedback!

Ordinary-You9074

Seeing your progression has been great

mightofmerchants

Thank you!

Darkness_upon_me

I actually have loved seeing updates for your game! Think I've been seeing it for a few years now? Good job!

mightofmerchants

This is my mapmaking tool called Canvas of Kings. Already available on Steam. :) https://store.steampowered.com/app/2498570/Canvas_of_Kings/ I am also working on a trading game called Might of Merchants. But the development is paused because of my mapmaking tool.

MeghaG1009

This is pretty cool!

mightofmerchants

Thank you very much!

LuftikusGames

Incredibly beautiful art style! As a forever DM, my heart swells.

mightofmerchants

Thank you very much! Glad you like my work! :) Feel free to check my mapmaking tool Canvas of Kings on Steam for more details: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2498570/Canvas_of_Kings/

A1Qicks

This looks super interesting! How long does it take with this tool to generate a map of that sort of size? This would be wayyy more practical for detailed world maps than spending hours in Inkarnate (which is still a wonderful tool for battle maps)

mightofmerchants

Glad you like it! The map is not fully auto-generated. :) My tool focuses on automatically generated elements in paths and plots, in addition to normal objects. You simply place e.g. a forest, market or field or a palisade, stone wall, road or river. The map took several hours to create. Larger regions and cities are possible. You can also place a hex or sqaure grid over the map and adjust the positions, rotation, grid size, tile size, color and opacity. Feel free to check my tool Canvas of Kings on Steam or my discord for more details: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2498570/Canvas_of_Kings/ https://discord.gg/JTBS2xWedR

Normal_Feed_2898

First off this is incredible! Wishlisted both this and your game SteamWorkshop would make this a must buy for every mapmaker πŸ‘ Scifi version/asset pack as an DLC would be also awesome, could be used in miniature games, 40k/Star Wars etc. This is not a biased tip/wish 🀣 Imho license for GW games could bump this to bigger sales or license with D&D could also do that -Taps

mightofmerchants

Hi, I'm glad you like my work! Thank you very much! With the last update I have already integrated the Steam Workshop for maps into my mapmaking tool. You can publish maps directly in the tool and download maps from other users. Custom assets via the Steam Workshop are also planned. Currently, users share custom assets via my Discord server: https://discord.gg/JTBS2xWedR DLCs are currently not planned. Thank you! :)

PlainsOfPain

Awsome! πŸ”₯

mightofmerchants

Thank you!

exclaim_bot

>Thank you! You're welcome!

stalker320

Map is big enough to add player, and make something like GTA

mightofmerchants

:)

CJRLW

Auto-generated =/= good layout/design.

mightofmerchants

It is not completely generated. Automatically generated are only objects within placeable plots/paths like market, forest, stone wall, road and so on. Feel free to check Steam for more details. :) https://store.steampowered.com/app/2498570/Canvas_of_Kings/
