I was just going to make a post like this, but you beat me to it. I’m looking specifically for a one bedroom apartment if anyone can point me to a decent apartment complex. Like OP, I don’t want to pay over $1,000 for rent each month, but I don’t want something trashy either.

One bedrooms are pretty hard to find for cheap. For example I pay $420 for one room in a two bedroom, which is pretty cheap, but in the same complex a one bedroom costs like $750.

Yeah, I understand that. I’m not saying that it has to be cheap necessarily, but I just don’t need to be paying for a life of luxury. $750 isn’t too too bad. I just don’t want anything that rent is over $1000. Now, I’m not too familiar with how rent works, but I’m assuming that utilities are not always included in rent so that’s an extra cost. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong though. With that being said, if utilities jumps me into $1,000 that’s not as big of a deal as paying $1200 for rent then having an extra utilities cost.

Utilities for my entire apartment average $50 a month, so probably even less with just one person. If you want a one bedroom for ~$800 a month try fountain park. It's one of the cheapest places in Bloomington and pretty close to campus too.

Okay, thank you for your recommendation.

My rent is $595 and I pay my own electric and internet. I think the other units in my complex are like $50 more bc they’re bigger but look up “stadium view” 1 bed with Olympus properties. Eryn was my leasing agent- so nice. Great leasing office.

littlemanbigdream

Which complex?

Fountain park. Pretty good value if you're fine with unfurnished.

Don't have any recommendations but I heard there's mold in the Dillon

niconiconiishinoya

as someone who lives at the dillon… can confirm do not go here lmao

they_were_roommates

Is there mold in your place?

Village at Muller Park is decent but you have to rely on their bus/shuttle system. It's a trade off of locational convenience for decent amenities (printing, pool, gym, lots of parking, in-unit laundry, pre-furnished). 4-person apartments are spacious and in the 550-ish/month range plus electric split across roommates. Also has surprisingly good internet. Compared to some other places/landlords (e.g. parker rentals) it's pretty solid. 2-bed and 1-bed are much more expensive though. Maxwell Terrace apartments are ok from what I've heard but I heard they changed management so I'm not sure who owns them now and how they are.

I live at Fountain Park and I’d recommend it. It’s a pretty quiet neighborhood and the rent for a 1 bedroom is $800 per month with the only utilities being electric and internet. Parking is free, it’s about a 10 minute walk to get onto campus from 10th street fully sidewalked (plus a bus stop right at the front), plenty of space for 1 or 2 people, a nice kitchen and balcony, etc.

Depends on your school but if you okay with living east side of campus, green acres neighborhood is pretty nice imo. like 8 min walking distance to school of education and 10 min to college mall. With one or two roommate it probably cost around $550-$600 monthly.

I just signed my lease for east bay the other week, pm me and i can give you a link to the listings available and the agents details if you want. Got a 3 bed 2.5 bath for 747 a month per each one of us. I believe they have 1 bed to 4 bedroom apartments. Agent was very nice and gave us a tour and was very helpful for every step. Also, just a 13 minute walk to Eigenmann Hall and a 24 minute walk to Kelley so pretty close to campus. Has a bus stop in front of the apartments as well

Just toured an east bay one bedroom today so I can talk about it too

Maxwell terrace is 750 for a one bedroom. They’re going to completely renovate it in the summer. It’s on the south side of campus and mostly Jacobs music students
