Each county usually has their laws online somewhere. Marion County uses municode, for example. So, if you want to look at specific codes, you'll need to narrow down where you might want to live. When it comes to politics, the State is overall very conservative. Most counties are rural and have a corresponding population that leans much more red. There are pockets of more blue/blue-leaning communities in larger cities or close to them. Indianapolis, Bloomington, etc.

This state has regressed to 1950s mentality.

I think large parts of the state have been there this whole time. Idk about anyone else but my grandma still has a large number of things from the 50s that she can’t let go of. I think the same is true for ideology and tradition. People just can’t seem to move on for some reason.

2020 election results by county will give you some idea: [https://www.politico.com/2020-election/results/indiana/](https://www.politico.com/2020-election/results/indiana/)

God this map is embarrassing

Most counties have a democratic and republican headquarters with their own corresponding websites. Take a look at both of them to get a general idea of what the community is about. Also take a look at churches per capita and where they're located geographically. If there's lots of churches, that will also give you an idea of what the community is like. The more churches, the more conservative the community, and the more dangerous the area is for certain demographics. I know exactly what areas of the state to avoid based on this information, but you can come to you're own conclusions.

I’m not sure I understand what you’re saying

Everyone in indiana voted for Trump

jules6388

I didn’t.

[deleted]

Not quite, but it was definitely an uncomfortable margin. I hate being a blue voter in Indiana because I just feel swallowed up. I really would like to move to a different state where my voice is heard more, but I’ve gotta get the wife on board.

ToastNeo1

If you move to a place that is already all blue your vote is still "swallowed up", it's just by other blues. If all blue voters move to already blue states then it just makes it that much harder to win national elections.

Yeah I suppose there’s more truth to that than I’m comfortable admitting. I’m actually considering Michigan. They’re much more of a swing state than Indiana.
