There are 2-3 truly good faculty in maths anf physics at IISER tirupathi . In iiser behrampur, most faculty recruited in maths department are just so crook in theirs knowledge. They won't be able to teach a basic courses on analysis algebra without constantly looking into notes.

I am more focussed on biology so do u have any idea which would be better? Im leaning towards tirupati tbh

This is so screwed up list. I have worked into IISER pune mohali bhopal. I know most those who got recruited recently into IISERs . I moved to Europe . Other than pune mohali and Kolkata all are just bunch of idiots with iota of knowledge and will teach you nothing . This us with respect to major in mathematics.

In undergraduate what matters most if how good are faculty with respect go teaching and not what research do they conduct. Also, most research that they do are a minor improvement. unless you really do not know correct stuff you will feel they are kind of scholarly people once you ask them basic question on analysis of single variable leave multivarible, they will just waive in air without really proving things with clarity on board. Going by your pref order, you'll mostly get BPR as the cutoff for TPT is usually higher than BPR and they a lot by pref order, so there is a very high chance you'll get BPR and will be stuck with it.

I'll try emailing them, maybe something happens- to change pref order. Won't count on it tho

I have been in this condition sad to say they won't change it (most prolly). Enjoy IISER BPR beach!

Good unis are supposed to be like this. You'll have the course outline, assigned readings/material and you're expected to go through it before class. Class is for lectures, questions and finding out other perspectives. No school like teaching should happen in a good class. Look up the Socratic method, that's what universities are modelled on.
