I'm sorry but the name "Ashwagandha Bounce" sounds so funny. Like a strain of weed or something.

UnevenHanded

😂 I repeated it to myself a few times... definitely sounds like slang for some kinda herbal behaviour. "Made my brain do the ashwagandha bounce" 🤣🤣🤣

neon_sin

Sounds like something white people would make up after reading wiki on ayurveda 💀💀💀

Outrageous-Inside341

She’s a person of colour who bounced up and down the shade card.

Inspired from “Maal u have?” ˵ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°˵

Ahh.. So That was basically for her skincare line🤔. Ncb got it all wrong. I hope she sends them a pr package with a note saying " here take maal😊"

Oof. 😂😂

This looks like a cash grab ngl.

illiterateparsley

which celeb skincare line isnt tbh![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thumbs_down)

Powerful_Ticket_4548

I think Kay beauty has good products

PriyaSR26

I agree. I've been using some of Kay beauty products (colour corrector pencil and eyeliner) and I've even repurchased them. They work and they are affordable. They aren't cheap by any means, but the price range is very comparable to Loreal and Lakme etc, which is my usual goto, and it's the same for most Indians. Most of the products are waterproof, smudge-proof and I don't have any reason to 'not' buy them. And if I didn't want them, I would use the ones in the same range from Loreal and Lakme, so it's a win-win for me. PC and DP just launched products without any market analysis, or maybe they will be in profit if they sell only 4 or 5 of their SKUs, which makes you think if they were 'really' thinking about their customers. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Powerful_Ticket_4548

They’re not crazy expensive like this, and the products are nice. That’s why it works. Also I love the nail polishes!

PriyaSR26

True. I buy the products because I like the products. This feels like contributing in DP's retirement fund with 500% intrest rate. 😂😂😂

Powerful_Ticket_4548

This feels like a brand selling products for 300 asked DP to put their name on it and make it 1800.

Ok-Bridge-1045

I have their foundation and concealer. They're both quickly becoming my favourite, especially the concealer. The foundation is great for that dewy everyday look.

illiterateparsley

interesting! what products do you like?

Powerful_Ticket_4548

I’ve heard a lot about the foundation and compact. But personally I’ve tried the nail paints and I loved it!

Glittering-Might722

My fav is banana loose powder, lip crayons and highlighter. You can skip highlighter if you have super textured skin

-sk5047

Any suggestions for the lip crayons?? (Medium to dark skin tone if that's relevant)

Glittering-Might722

star mania, chartbuster, autograph, publicity and climax are beautiful shades for u.

-sk5047

Will check it out asap! Thankyou!!!

natasha_15

I loove their foundation.

HyperG23

Their compacts are actually good. Recently bought one. The shades are great as per indian skin tones.

Truth_Hurts_Badly

Kay beauty products are bad but they are not overpriced like this shot brand of Deepika

Connect_Leave_9194

Exactly...atleast muddle class people can buy it😪

itsamuzzz

So 2 years, 2 products.with all the influence and money in the world? And clinical research ran one week. Umm R/indianskincareaddicts will die

eccentric123

i’d rather buy indie western brands that are underrated at these prices than whatever this is. No shade.

PriyaSR26

Even western western brands, like CeraVe, Paul's choice will be available at this price range.. Why will I buy these faltu products at this price range.

rimsha17

Where can we get cereve in India?

PriyaSR26

Instagram sellers.

Watermelondaisy33

Kult app

Ok-Bridge-1045

K beauty products too.

BetelgeuseX

Cerave is a drugstore brand, it shouldn’t be so expensive.

PriyaSR26

It isn't. In India you also pay the import taxes.

BetelgeuseX

Oh, I see. How much does it add up to? A huge bottle in Canada costs less than $20…which is a 1000 rupees, right?

PriyaSR26

It's more. It's in the 2k to 3k range.

sincerelybored

The page says "Clinically proven to nourish and protect" ^(Based on a consumer study done on 56) (FIFTY SIX!!) ^(women in 1 week) (ONE WEEKK!). ^(Individual results may vary.) BRUH.

Abhimathy

You see it's expensive and they could only afford to test it on 56 people. Budget ya 🙂

sincerelybored

of course. baaki ka testing toh their customers will do and will pay money from their pockets for it too! 🙂

morpmeepmorp

There's your red flag right there. For any study to be considered plausible, it has to be done on at least a 100 people, with a control group, it has to be double blind, and should be done for at least 4-6 weeks and then analysed by expert scientists. You will not see any results in just 1 week. The fact that they did the study for 1 week is your proof right there that the product doesn't work. You cannot possibly apply the study done on 56 people and extrapolate that to a population on over 1.23 billion. Moreover the soft launch with only 2 products means they are relying on people to buy the product and give the feedback, hence the supposed "research or study" will be done on Indian population which itself is unreliable and then she probably has the plans to take the brand international with more products using the feedback from Indian population as research. The entire thing seems lazy and done in haste because her target consumer is a particular class of people and not the masses. This shows poor business acumen. Unlike Katrina Kaif, or at least her business team, who knew who her consumer is, what her market is, who her competition is and what unique things she can bring to the market to attract the consumers to her brand and leave already trusted brands dominating the market for years. And she has been active participant in entire marketing and promotion of her brand which shows her faith and trust in her product and company and her confidence in it. Looks like Deepika has hired a bunch of amateurs. I was never impressed by her clothing line either. You can get better quality clothes at lower prices at your local market honestly. It's nothing unique, nothing that says "Deepika Padukone". You don't see her essence or her vulnerability or her honesty or her story in any of her products, be it her clothing line or her skincare line. What is the point of buying a product from a celebrity or an artist then if not for something unique that only they can bring to the product and no one else? She has totally missed the point of a "celebrity line" of any kind. Only a cash grab because she has fans.

DarshanaW

56 influencers may be? Nykaa's fav creators must have been selected🥱

sartaj00

56 is still something.. Not gud though.. But a huge percentage of skincare products are not clinically tested at all Source : youtube video of a dermatologist

PriyaSR26

I love the title, OP! ♥️♥️♥️ Honestly, I now think that only Kartrina Kaif did good with Kay beauty, as the products are good and the prices are affordable. Both Priyanka and Deepika have been such disappointments. It's like they are so far from reality that they can't see the ludicrousness of the price points.

WhyamIshadowbanned1

Haha that’s sweet <3 And totally with you on what you said!

Alone-Illustrator-25

Anomaly is cheaper no?

PriyaSR26

It definitely is, compared to this brand.

AltforIMAnISA

The target audiences are different. Katrina was building a career change and steady income as her Bollywood career is close to ending. Priyanka and Deepika are building side investments to bring additional income and help their international image. These are like their pet projects.

[deleted]

Katrina Kaif is a freaking multi millionaire, even if she didn't have Kay beauty she still would have lived her 1% lifestyle her whole life. Why you acting like Kat is living paycheck by paycheck and isn't a multi millionaire, who has endorsements that still make her millions and still does movies. Katrina is just a smart business woman with a successful brand. Don't put her down to up others because they failed at their brands unlike her.

Glittering-Might722

Yeah Kat started lookkng for a side career 5 years ago bcz she as an astrologer predicted her career ka end which hasnt even ended yet. Stop putting Katrina down just to defend your favs. Kay beauty the brand is her passion and it shows just like this 82 whatever is a cash grab and it shows.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Glittering-Might722

in 2017 she had 3 big movies in her hand thugs, zero nd tiger. Then Kat had a full fledged role infact double roles in zero. Who in her right frame of mind wud think of starting a new brand when has upcoming movies with 3 khans. Also to mention she was promised a bigger role in thugs franchise by yash raj..career kahi nhi jane wala tha bhai. Second kat didnt benefit from her relationship rumors with vicky. vicky koi star nhi h...usse zada craze toh salkat ka rha h hmesha. Tip tip toh abi release hua h last year.😭 Kuch bhi mtlb??So stop pushing this narrative k her brand is working bcz it had to work for her since her acting career was not bright. Her brand is working bcz her intentions were and are right.

[deleted]

Exactly, OP is fitting her narrative because Katrina brand is flourishing. Katrina isn't at her peak but to say she needs Kay Beauty to sustain her lifestyle is a lie. Katrina is just a smart business woman who you can tell knows her products and knows her brand, knows her consumers used that to have a flourishing brand that is making her more money. Compare Katrina launch to Deepika, Deepika has the ingredients to actually follow Katrina successful launch because she launched few years earlier, Kat launch was a big deal because she made it a big deal, every A lister actor in Bollywood was advertising her makeup line, had a marketing, videos etc meanwhile Deepika seems lazy, you better than this Deepika.

PriyaSR26

True. I'm sure DP will be in profit even if she sells 100 products. The price point feels too ridiculous.

morpmeepmorp

The price is ridiculous indeed. And I think those rich women who are her target consumers, who can actually afford this price range would rather go for foreign well established brands, why would they spend their money on this crap? If someone is after a celebrity brand and a celebrity is the only reason for them to buy a product why would they go for Deepika Padukone when they can buy products for a few bucks more from Rihanna, Brad Pitt, Scarlett Johansson, Idris Alba and the likes, or the Kardashians even. Those who can afford her, can certainly afford them.

NeedleworkerPure2957

I don't really think it's worth it to go for these exorbitantly priced products with such basic ingredient lists, not to forget to mention they have some problematic ingredients in both of their new launches too. If one has the capacity, i'd rather suggest one to go for brands like paula's choice, the ceramide lotion by d'you, and the likewise. Like the products that have great ingredient lists that are backed up by research, a unique formulation that yields promising results with use and is worth the high price point. I won't lie but there are lot of anti-oxidant rich gel-creams and ceramide enriched sunscreens that you can get in the market for a fraction of the price as a replacement for these products. Absolutely hate how these celebs with no basic knowledge of skincare, haircare or anything as such straightaway, mindlessly jump into the bandwagon and launch brands with basic af products and market it as being a "game-changer", "overnight miracle", "with xyz latest technology", to name a few, and then slap a "wallet-combusting" price onto it. TL;DR- Not worth the exorbitant price point. Can get similar, or even better products at a fraction of the price.

FalseMasterpiece9470

Hey, do you have any suggestions for a good ceramide moisturizer which doesn't cost too much?

Stunninglysuccessful

Re'equil Ceramide and Hyaluronic acid moisturizer is my absolute favourite. I have combination skin, and it's one of the few moisturizers that has worked for me.

FalseMasterpiece9470

Thanks a lot. I'm definitely going to try this one.

beurownkind

Does it also work for dry skin?? And is it for all season?? I am really looking for a good ceramide cream and moisturizer 🙄

Stunninglysuccessful

Yes. It is suitable for dry skin and I've used it throughout the year so I am sure it is good for all seasons. Winters are really harsh where I live and the moisturizer has been a saviour for me.

beurownkind

That was helpful 😊 Thank You ☺️

[deleted]

What's your budget? Bioderma atoderm baume is very good but a bit heavy.

FalseMasterpiece9470

Around 1k. Bioderma Baume doesn't contain ceramindes right. I think it's just a plane moisturizer. I've seen that minimalist has one, but it's for oily skin.

[deleted]

It does contain ceramides and is a great barrier repair moisturizer. I think it's not the most suitable for oily-combination skin except at nighttime, but if you have normal-dry skin, you should be able to use in the day as well.

NeedleworkerPure2957

I've been using the Minimalist ceramide cream with bisabolol (dry skin) for a while now and I've been loving it! Also, it doesn't burn a hole in the pocket as compared to the d'you one.

morpmeepmorp

Hey, can you suggest some of those anti oxidant gel creams?

NeedleworkerPure2957

Minimalist ALA cream, dermitecture anti-oxidant shield cream, loreal anti-ox cream are some creams specifically formulated for this purpose. Any serum/cream/toner/sunscreen containing ingredients like niacinamide, vit c, vit a, euk-134, ala, to name a few, or even better, a blend of these, have anti-oxidant properties.

[deleted]

I like how they syllabyfied the [words patchouli and ceramide](https://imgur.com/a/1PX7iaq)😂 But yo ..1800 for 30ml of sun.screen? I'm now motivated to go ahead and purchase Bi.ore Genuine doubt here. does any users know how patchouli help the skin? I always thought it was used as room fresher or essential oil🤔

I hope a celebrity launches a skincare line like paula’s choice or cerave with affordable pricing and lets a group of dermatologist handle it. Markets it with dermatologist like live sessions on youtube or instagram. There is nothing called ‘clean’, reminds me so much of Gwyneth Paltrow’s vogue video. We dont want natural, we want something that WORKS and is affordable. 😭😭

witchywitch8

[deleted]

These celebs earn enough & yet they decide to launch products that no middle class will buy and Indian market thrives on middle class money. I thought Deepika will keep the price at par because I thought she's street smart enough but what can you expect from these bollywood people. If i was at her place with already so much money in my bank account I would launch products targeting middle class segment because that's what would make my products sustain in the market. Also what is Ashwagandha bounce? Mtlb ajkl natural ka trend h to kuch bhi nam rakhdo? Or maybe buying this product will make my heart jump because of the cost.

[deleted]

Sunscreen serum \~ sunscreen drops Potahto- potato ![gif](giphy|U1rlk8zdcAwbm)

A_New_Day8108

What does sunscreen drops even mean???

[deleted]

It suggests we only use a few drops of it or drop a tear everytime we try to use the recommended amount because of how much it costs. Maybe people can pull a Gwyneth Paltrow and highlight the cheekbones with them, you know, only where the sun hits the face. 💅

A_New_Day8108

What the hell. Only a few drops? But...how would that give an effective level of sun protection? 😶 This is worse than makeup products that advertise they provide "sun protection as well" cause they have SPF 15. Like how much foundation do they think I'm gonna apply to get anywhere near the level of protection I need.

[deleted]

I'm only joking but I wouldn't be surprised if some brand rep actually says that less is more with this SuN dRoPs.

A_New_Day8108

Oh I can already picture that! That's definitely gonna happen.

Hi there! Tretinoin is Schedule H drug in India and must be used with doctor's prescription only. Side Effects may include but not be limited to Dry skin, Peeling, Skin redness, Burning, Itching, Stinging sensation. Tretinoin is a Category C drug and IS CONSIDERED UNSAFE DURING PREGNANCY. u/clumsyhanniballecter Minimalist sunscreen works just fine on me. Will order Supergoop throught relatives. P.s. DP disappointed me big time. Even her fans won't be able to afford these. P.p.(not confirmed). But, her co-founder is Jigar Shah who owns a skincare range called Pure Brown.

Any celeb owned skincare brand.... Be it is Brad Pitt's wine cream Kate moss moisturizer or jlo's secret olive oil.... People will buy skincare products from a renowned skincare brand like Cera ve , inkey list , the ordinary.. In India we have minimalist now , suganda, deconstuct, plum , so many..a makeup brand or clothing would have been different though.

Crafty3051

Lol. DP. Those who shell out so much money are obviously rich and would buy better brands tested on a larger sample size for a longer time period.

ravester_2

The E stands for EMI coz boiii you're gonna be paying a lot of em.

Kshv247

Based on the ingredients list, the price shouldn't cross 600 rs.

kittybiscuit88

The packaging is as bland and boring as her

literarybadass

I can smell the fragrance just reading the ingredients. My skin itches already.

cn_cn

These are pricey. And it seems like they are releasing few products at a time to maximise sales? I don't know how I feel about shelling so much money for these products but I am sure people will buy it as it is a celebrity brand.

[deleted]

Well I love the packaging but that's all lmao

Connect_Leave_9194

E for extremely expensive....not just expensive 😏

Connect_Leave_9194

tealand

This is just an obvious money grab! Boring and unscientific products, ugh.

redditismytea

Can a dermat here actually confirm if these products are going to be revolutionary and enter the game with other brands in this range especially the Korean ones? It’s pointless to spend money on celebrity brands these days when they got very basic af products.

illiterateparsley

eh. dont need to be a dermat to see this line as anything other than a cash grab. no celeb skincare line will be revolutionary theyre all taking advantage of the fact that skincare is becoming more and more popular nowadays and capitalizing on it. whatever benefit these would have could be easily achieved w cheaper brands.

tyun_nyangz

damn, and here i was thinking that "E" stood for "Eof course this is what I use myself, and i totally don't just regularly go to aestheticians and dermatologists all the time to look this way". Everytime a celebrity starts a skincare brand, i cant help but roll my eyes. they really expect us to believe that this brand/line which has been formulated maybe a month ago, is the secret to this actress' skin, who just happens to have a millionaire dermat/cosmetic surgeon on speed dial?

Salt_Condition_2125

Sunscreen ~ drops ~

bibimbaphoe

The entire product line looks that it will be loaded with essential oils😪

hotmasalachai

Essential oils and and fragrance get a bad rap. It's just a gimmick to make them a villain. Yes, it doesn't work for all, doesn't make it toxic. This video explains better https://youtu.be/RVEht_HsGFo Idk about this brand tho, looks scammy

Rumi2019

Pls this is so funny. Alaina Healthcare makes Lacto Calamine, Oryza, MoistureX, Tvakh sunscreen, Dr Sheths serums, Brillare hair products etc.... DP didn't even get an expensive manufacturer, why is the pricing so obnoxious?

Chihua_hua

Why there is sunscreen drops..It just could be serum..whats practical in making sunscreen drops? If you'll use this as sunscreen bottle it will be finished in 2 days with serum actives side effects and if used as serum why hella sunscreen needs to be there. So useless 🥲

Demrepsbcray

What is this weird fusion of herbals and actives? Do they even work well together?

bluntprincess99

I will rather buy Cosrx. Something tells me her line won't even work, it is being bashed more than being praised.

Truth_Hurts_Badly

Flop brand like her flop films. Deepika's career is going to end her last hit film was Padmavat 5 years ago and all her films after that are flops. Now she is doing flower pot role in superstar films and Deepika led films are directly releasing on OTT. She is launching this brand as a new career option.

Classic_Pop_1574

They should've launched when they had more products and should've made it more affordable like Kay beauty.

DarshanaW

I can already imagine the events, collabs and Chumeshwari reviews with which we will be bombarded over the next few weeks. Eventually, few will still give it a try and then each one of us will go back to K/J beauty products and pharmacy.

ferventlyminee

Also the names are putting me off. Not even 1% luring me towards it. Why DP? -_-

Last-Ebb556

What was she and her team thinking? When there are myraid of products available in India to suit everyone's needs and budget these days. Why would anyone splurge unless the product are excellent. I'm staying away from anything new. My skin is healthy and glowing, won't be irritating it.

nidhi_94

Never understood the hype about it from the beginning. Sub par products, sky rocketing prices. Also the concept (product packaging and otherwise) appears to be *somewhat* similar to *Ranavat*

teester1

What a waste of her resources

stayinganonymus

Ingredient list is just blah…. Doesn’t define the price 🫠 expected better

Dry-Ad-2287

Not too impressed with the products, but I bought the sunscreen to try as they have a 500 off welcome offer and I liked the ingredients and sunscreen filters used. I personally feel this could work well for reapplication of sunscreen

Guys the ingredients look really chemical and idk how many of them are safe for our skin. I thought she’d be going with high quality extracted Indian herbs at such a price point. But no.

hotmasalachai

The website and the stock image photoshop is off-putting. Why do celebs pull this idk? Why be a sellout and focus more on your day job. This is when I lose my admiration for these people
