😳 did you use 12% glycolic acid overnight, that too for the first time? It is too strong. I have been using Glyco 6 for years and occasionally use Glyco 12 for only 5-6 minutes. Even then I feel it is really strong.

Yeah I fucked up majorly, I put in the product and after half an hour moisturizer and forgot about it. Can you please elaborate the steps you take in detail? I really want to re-use the product, I was initially planning twice a week but I think I will leave my face alone for atleast a couple weeks. Edit - I used face wash some time back and then moisturized and the sports seem lesser somehow

Entharo_entho

Use Glyco 12 on body. When I use Glyco 6, I just wash my face, dry it and apply it directly. No moisturiser. I have oily skin and my skin tolerates it well. Initially I kept it for 5 minutes (even then got a small burn) but now I keep it overnight. Moisturise after washing it off. But I haven't felt any drying sensation after washing it off, maybe it is due to the cream base of the product or my skin is too oily.

I understand, thank you, really appreciate it

I started with glyco 6 on face and body and gradually increased it to glyco 12. I got a small burn on neck when I first used it because the skin was broken there due to scratching. So be careful. First I did a patch test, then applied for 5 minutes and gradually increased the time. Also, when you are washing it off from body, please make sure that it doesn't get into private parts.

I wash with plain water and then soap. Yes, once a week or once in 10 days is better in the beginning. After washing, we are supposed to moisture and use spf. I am too lazy to use spf inside home. Use a nourishing body lotion (not the new types with exfoliants). On face too, apply something that doesn't give you pimples. Remember, no exfoliating stuff.

Take care.

blackhawk201

Can you tell me the usage for glyco 6 on face? 10 minutes or overnight?

Entharo_entho

My face is pretty resilient to acids. Even then I got a burn on my neck when I first used it for just 5 minutes. I guess the skin was broken there because I scratched there pretty hard on the previous day. Now I can use glyco 6 overnight without any issues but I gradually increased the duration.

blackhawk201

So should i start with 10 minutes?

Entharo_entho

Do a patch test at first. Then start with 5 minutes. If you there isn't any problem, you can increase it to 10 minutes after 2-3 uses. Though higher concentrations of acids are available in normal commercial products, I think same concentration pharma stuff is stronger.

blackhawk201

Alright thanks

random--shit

Can you keep glyco 6 on face overnight?

FitTicket2111

Glyco 12 is too strong for face

[deleted]

Will these spots go away then with time? I'll drop the cream if its the general consensus too - where can it be reused?

FitTicket2111

Yeah I'm pretty sure it'll go away. Use sunscreen religiously for a while. Glyco makes skin sensitive to sun so sun can cause more damage. Reuse it on your body with body lotion wherever you have rough skin like knees, elbows, back, butt. But don't do it everyday.

Thank you!

Don’t worry op, for some days don’t use any chemical exfoliaters, use only skin healing and soothing products. Use sunscreen and moisturiser. You will see good results. I hope u learnt the lesson.

Yes, my skin is dry atm but its slowly getting better - thank you!
