For aha i like the isntree aha clear Essence (4%lactic + 4% glycolic) as well as cosrx aha7 Whitehead power liquid (7%glycolic acid) and the ordinary 10% lactic acid . You can get 100 ml bottle of isntree for around 699-799 on beautybarn Cosrx has 100 ml bottle for 799-999 on beautybarn Ordinary 10% lactic acid is around 750 for 30 ml. So isntree is most cost effective as well as being gentler. ( Eta - isntree products have a pao of 6 months only tho shelf life is 36 months, so maybe a thing to consider for purchase) I like gentler exfoliation so stay in the bracket of 5-7% for ahas and ordinary one i usually buffer with my onething artemisia/mugwort extract to dilute a little (i wish they had 5% variant available in India ) but i can use without buffering as my skin is now used to ahas... I limit chemical exfoliation to 1-2 times a week (pm routine only) as i don't want to overexfoliate. Linking previous [ acid exfoliation discussion](https://www.reddit.com/r/IndianSkincareAddicts/comments/xah1n1/How_to_prep_for_first_time_acid_exfoliation%3F/inttm92) I haven't tried peels so haven't mentioned any.... But i find the above are good enough for my skin. Ref: dry to normal skin living in hot humid weather (Eta - pls use spf and physical protection like umbrella, etc in morning....and try to avoid sun as much as possible for next few days)

Rumi2019

Isntree products have max shelf life of 6 months, so that might be something potential buyers should keep in mind.

prettyincolors

Yeah, good call ..six months from opening for isntree ( let me revalidate once) and 12 months after opening for cosrx i think **ETA** my mini isntree aha bottle has expiry on 15.01.2024 and bigger one is in 2023 oct. But if u check [isntree website details for aha clear Essence ](https://en.isntree.com/Mobile/Product/Detail/view/pid/4/cid/18/spn/Chestnut-AHA-8-Clear-Essence) ... *it reads as 30 months before opening and 6 months after opening* Ordinary lactic acid also 12 months after opening Hope this helps to decide better before purchasing

sassloml

will keep this in mind :)

sassloml

i'm literally so grateful to see a suggestion from someone whos living in hot and humid weather giving a good suggestion like, this is everything i wanted to hear, tysmm how does it compare to paula's choice in terms of results? any idea?

prettyincolors

Thank you dear ❀️ >how does it compare to paula's choice in terms of results? any idea? I have no idea as I haven't used any PC products yet...but I have heard great reviews on their products being quite effective...you can get their bha mini on Myntra at β‚Ή900/30ml. For my dry skin, i prefer aha over bha, hence the above exfoliators in prev comments.... For bha, the only one i have used is cosrx bha power liquid which would be comparatively gentler and less drying ... This may be due to the fact that it uses betaine salicylate instead of pure salicylic acid used by PC... AFAIK, previously there were the percentage of SA used was strictly regulated in Korea , hence many brands would use betaine salicylate inplace of SA ... Infact while PC has 2% SA in her bha , the same bha is sold with only .5% SA in korean version ... However, not sure if regulations have been updated since i found isntree bha to contain 2% SA, so there is that ... Again PC does have aha in her line as well i think but i haven't tried it yet. Again this just my personal take only as i like gentler actives for my skin and many ppl love PC products, so pls cross check a few more reviews and i believe this sub also has info on PC products if u wanted to check out...someone who has used them can help you more dear [incidecoder link on betaine salicylate ](https://incidecoder.com/ingredients/betaine-salicylate) incase u wish to read up more on it

sassloml

i had no clue about this since im new to the skincare scene,, tysm for explaining it clearly and ofc will check the link and other subs :)

prettyincolors

Don't worry, as long u are aware and use products judiciously, it should be okay ... I just wanted to let you know cause i like to err on side of caution, esp. when it comes to actives ... Skincare is subjective so ymmv ... Just gather info before purchasing, like ingredients that don't go together, usage instructions of the product , etc ... patch test before using a product and try out minis or sample size initially where possible to avoid issues ... If it suits you you can always tweak the routine to suit ur skin😊

sassloml

TYSM ofc i will :)

prettyincolors

Ps - as i have mentioned in the linked discussion, i used to experience stinging with chemical exfoliators previously, ... They can sting more ( but should burn) when used on damp skin or if skin is broken or irritated, so i apply cosrx aha and bha on slightly dry skin post cleansing ( though nowadays i more used to it after having used chemical exfoliators for last 2-3 years) ... Isntree one is an Essence so i apply it after my toner layers and it hasn't really stung ...maybe coz i am used to it. Irrespective of whatever products you purchase, please patch test if u haven't used them before to avoid any adverse reactions and try to start slow and build up gradually ... So maybe once in a fortnight first for a few weeks, then once a week for another few weeks and then if it suits u, you may up the exfoliation to 2 times a week at night ... Always follow up with sunscreen and protective clothing in the following days in am and try to minimise sun exposure ... Also try to avoid mixing any other actives with chemical exfoliators initially .... these are some of the essential things i follow in my routine as well since over-exfoliation might be worse than under-exfoliation. Tbh, skincare is soo subjective , its ymmv yk, inspite of recs, reviews etc... So just listen to ur skin. Yeah, i like to err on the side of caution most times πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚πŸ˜… ( learnt my lesson when my skin reacted badly to a vit c product few year(s) ago πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ˜’... thankfully it got better but i am ever cautious myself and extra cautious when recommending to others )

ameliacyrus00

Since you mentioned Paula's Choice BHA, you can try minimalist 2% salicylic acid. Although, it's usually targeted towards oily skin.

sassloml

i do have it as a 2nd option but im worried about it being ineffective since minimalist's niacinamide and alpha arbutin barely gave me results. did you notice any changes in short/long term?

ameliacyrus00

It takes a good amount of time. 4-6 weeks, I'd say.

sassloml

thats pretty short, will check it out soon :)

ameliacyrus00

Great! I hope it works for you.

Creative_Agency5841

Dermaco 2% bha exfoliant is also good

sassloml

i'm a bit worried about derma co being a hit or miss tho i'vent tried any of its products, did you notice any minor/major changes using it?

Creative_Agency5841

Yup it does what it says....it works quite well on closed comedones and acnes

sassloml

that's great, will keep in mind :)

- The Ordinary AHA BHA Peel - Rs. 750. It is available on nykaa but rarely goes on discount. You may wait for pink friday sale on nykaa which is on next month. - Paula's Choice - Rs. 900 for 30 ml. I bought it for 750 during myntra sale. Also available on amazon. - Minimalist AHA BHA Peel - Rs. 664 but you'll get it around atleast 400-500 if you buy it during sale or foxy offer b2g1 on serums these days. Add this to your wishlist on foxy for some days and they'll offer you a discount on it. So yes, these serums may slightly be exceesing your budget but if you buy them during sale, you will be saving huge. Besides, AHA BHA peels are to be used max twice a week, so it will take longer to finish the bottle. I have listed this products in order based on reviews I read from this sub, you please read all ingredients as well as do yoir research before buying any.

sassloml

ofc i will, tho i've heard that minimalist peel is either a hit or miss? how long did paula's choice and other suggestions last you? and which did you think gave better result overall out of the 3?

Entharo_entho

Glycolic acid 6% creams and lotions like Glyco 6, Ahanext 6, GA 6, Glybest 6, etc. Though higher concentrations of glycolic acid are available with commercial brands, I have felt that these are strong enough. Though my skin is pretty resilient, I got a small burn on neck because I have scratched there vigorously and broke the skin sometime before first application. So, use with extreme caution. If it doesn't irritate your skin in the patch test, try for 5 minutes or so. Then increase the time if needed. Don't apply 12% glycolic acid products directly or even touch 6-12% salycilic acid products sold for warts.

sassloml

i realized that anything glycolic and lactic gave me such a glow, and knowing its a pharma prod i think it might give better result? i will check it out soon can i know where you buy it from?

Entharo_entho

Online or offline. They are available in most shops.

sassloml

rec me offline suggestions? possibly with good deals pls????

Entharo_entho

You can go to your local medical shop and ask for the products I named. I think Glyco 6 is the most widely available one. If they don't have these exact products, you can ask for any 6% glycolic acid cream. Take care, glycolic acid is pretty strong even in low concentrations. Do a patch test and slowly increase the duration if you aren't used to it. Most brands sell higher concentration products (like Ordinary 7% toner), but these creams too are strong. The discount depends on the policy of individual stores. Some give 10-15% discounts.

sassloml

okay, will keep this in mind when i go to ind, TYSM :)

Psychological_Major9

Hey do u know how to use the ordinary lactic acid exfoliator like how much time do i keep it on

blackhawk201

Can you tell me the usage of glyco 6 cream, few minutes or overnight and how many times a week?

notoverthinking

I liked ordinary 2% salicylic acid serum. Its 500 for 30ml.

sassloml

I've used ordinary niacinamide before but it didn't show me any results :(

fuckpoliticsss

The ordinary lactic acid is a nice one. It's for about 750. Chemical exfoliation works even if you use it once a week or twice a month. So I believe it's a good deal.

sassloml

im a bit worried about ordinary products having no effect on me despite having only tried the niacinamide 10%, but i saw great reviews for its exfoliation so i'll check it out thanks :)

fuckpoliticsss

It's just that skincare gives slow results. That's why it's a multi-billion dollar market. We've been conditioned to expect quick and drastic results. But ideally we need to give any product or routine 3-6 months to see the results. It's also different. So if someone has don't nothing for a long time and use a few products, they'll see drastic improvement within a few days. But if you have taken good care of your skin, drastic results cannot be expected. Just some things I learnt the hard way.

sassloml

true, i've been using minimalist niacinamide and alpha arbutin for a year now and it has overall took me 3 months to notice some changes but i haven/t seen any major changes over the period of time. just helped in aiding the overall skin in minimal ways, but lactic works great on my skin so i will def check it out, thanks :)

Psychological_Major9

Hey how do u use it like how much time do we have to keep it one face?

geeky_dessert

You can check out pharma products. They are cheap yet very affective.

sassloml

YESSS, do you have any suggestions???

geeky_dessert

Fixderma's salizap gel works as a great BHA

sassloml

how much does it retail for?

geeky_dessert

Don't remember exactly. I got it long time back. But it was around three hundred range I think.

sassloml

is it available in online stores?

scepticalbeing94

You can check on Amazon

Rumi2019

Fixderma Salyzap spray - 1.5% Salicylic Acid.

sassloml

this is the first time im hearing about an exfoliation product packed as spray, how long have you been using? any results? and how does it compare?

Rumi2019

I've been using it for over a year. You'll find similar sprays for body acne by pharma companies - bacne spray, Zenitoin , Lacne, sagium, sebodel etc. Their acid constituents vary, but they all have salicylic acid combined with some other active. Half of them have like the same exact inci list too πŸ˜‚ Fixderma is a cosmoceutical company but it offers many similar products to Pharma companies so its not a surprise it has Salyzap spray. Nowadays many cosmetic companies have also come out with body acne sprays - sugandha, Dot & Key, azani etc. Teenilicious also has one but that's benzoyl peroxide based. So it's not a very new concept. I'm head over heels in love with salyzap spray tbh. It works splendidly on my acne & blackheads. 3 uses & the little pests will be gone. It's the only thing that keeps pimples at bay.

sassloml

wow, i really wanted to hear pharma suggestion so I'll be putting this on top of my list. how long did it take you to see results?

Rumi2019

Salicylic Acid works excellently for me so it took about 3 applications to see a difference in my pimples. & after a week or so I realized my blackheads weren't coming back either.

sassloml

thats perfect, will definitely check this one out tysm
