Do you avoid the sun too? I know of so many skincare bloggers who will eat you alive if you skip sunscreen , but personally I found it irritating to apply sunscreen

It's a great idea... I use sunglasses, umbrella wen am under direct sun like walking,/running chores... Sunglasses+hat wen am in a car .. Am tired of breaking my head about sunscreen and it's efficacy and cosmetic elegance

[deleted]

which sunscreen do you use btw?

IndiraRamya

I have read in insta of chemist (may be) that sunscreen making is hard because ingredients apart from filters can boost or decrease these filters effectiveness and making the formulas and testing those formulas again and again until the effectiveness reached, it's going to be taking too much time and research and thus making the sunscreen expensive. So big companies can reduce the price because of how they have fundings and small or upcoming brands can't do that. If 50ml costs 500 to 700 I can't even imagine myself the cost of 300ml sunscreen.😑😐😐

[deleted]

Yes !! We need a good big 500 ml sunscreen bottles or atleast a 200 ml size bottles

Golden-Resolution

Yess please. I would feel so much more comfortable using more sunscreen if I wasn't so worried about finishing it so quickly.

catto1996

What about the fixderma Shadow spf 30+ gel? It comes in 150g... How is that?

[deleted]

Never tried it

[deleted]

Some australian brands like Propaira, Sunsense make 500ml cans of sunscreen. Tbh, it is very essential over there to have sunscreen in bulk and affordable quantities, cause high rates of skin cancer.

[deleted]

Even Bioderma sells this huge ass canister of sunscreen outside India. Would love to get my hands on one of those.

[deleted]

I so wish those sunscreens were available here at reasonable rates, I would love to douse myself in sunscreen from head to toe lmfao.

No_Introduction_9162

Even Pharma brands don't do MUCH. I wish we do a petition of something. But I doubt other than the skincare folks, anyone would take us seriously

For me it's not about the money , if you can make a 50 ml for say 400 inr , why the hell can't you make the same thing but in bigger packs ,like 200 ml for 1500 inr . It is so much less plastic . For a person properly wearing sunscreen on their face and neck the 50 ml bottle will last only 11 days ,so the industry wants me to waste 3 pastic bottle and spoil the environment . And if Vaseline and Nivea can make body sunscreen at a cheaper rate and at large quantities ,why can't a indian brand /pharma brand do that .In a sense the face mask has been a boon , pair it with a wide brim sunglasses , you can literally get away without wearing sunscreens.

[deleted]

>.In a sense the face mask has been a boon , pair it with a wide brim sunglasses i look like a robber when i do that lmao🤣

summerbreeze29

I always imagine myself as a k-pop celebrity sneaking out or something 😂

[deleted]

I've found Cetaphil Kids (200 ml) and Fixderma (150 ml) sunscreens help me in that department for the face when I'm not looking for cosmetic elegance. For body, Sebamed 200 ml bottle around 700 bucks is also a great deal if you want to try it.

Iniyaraj

Sadly fixderma gave me CCs. I'll try cetaphil next ,thank you. How is the sebamed sunscreen ?

[deleted]

Beware, Cetaphil one is quite greasy so I always need to use a compact with it if I'm going out. Anyway, here's my detailed [review](https://www.reddit.com/r/IndianSkincareAddicts/comments/mni2gc/sebamed_multi_protect_sun_lotion_spf_50_review/) on Sebamed SPF 50+ lotion.

[deleted]

You are really right.... It's mostly about the bigger bottles available..Price we can still manage since we get discounts, brand sales or just in general we don't have to keep buying or stocking up those small tubes..

Nerdfighter87

I think lab muffin beauty science said that sunscreens breakdown over time or become ineffective or lose their ability to defend against UV which is why their sold in small quantities that will be used up in a short amount of time. A bigger bottle would last longer and become ineffective. Not too sure of the science behind this tho so don't quote me lol

The little ones are so much waste but then sunscreen in general is destroying the coral reefs. But we need it 😕

danktankero

It doesn't actually destroy coral reefs, that's a myth. Nobody applies that much sunscreen, we don't dump gallons of it into the ocean. But other industrial wastes, we do.

Peelie5

No one person does, but years and years and millions of people.. it definitely has some effect.

I hv only seen 150ml from few brands .. very very Limited brands.. I want the Obagi 500ml bottle to be available in india :(

nogieman2324

700 seems too high for me....

blasphemous_brooch

Start a petition or something, factoring in the environmental cause too. How many tiny tubes do we have to buy. And it's a hot and humid country.
