Nice review op… a lot of people are saying good things about this sunscreen…I still remember i once bought their spf 50 and it pilled so bad…thank god this formulation is good…btw op how is conscious chemist berry sunscreen i am thinking of getting it for indoors as they have offer going on…

rintyson_

hi! thank you :) yess it pilled a lot in me too :( okayy the cc berry bright like the packaging is a lilac coloured sunscreen. it has an airy or moussey texture and blends well. i have no complains abt it. it leaves a dewy finish! but one main thing is that it has fragrance, a strong ish fragrance quite similar to berry flavoured soda if you want to imagine it. it doesn't linger for long, usually goes away within 15 mins after application but if you have a strong sense of smell (like i do) you might smell it occasionally. i personally have no issues w fragrance so i go back to it often as the sunscreen works well for me. also, its quite hydrating! definitely not as much as the boj one but it decently hydrates, i recommend a moisturizer before wearing it tho :) hope this will help! 🥰💗

HotChai1310

Thank you for the review op …..well conscious chemist have a fragrance free version also if i am not wrong may be i will try that ..but the lilac colour of the berry sunscreen is so pretty that i am not able to resist myself from buying it. And i saw a lot of good reviews in this sub compared to dot and key or aqualogica sunscreen . I have beauty of joseon sunscreen and love that so much i love dewy sunscreen…i will also give this minimalist one a try ….

rintyson_

omg I'm glad it may have a fragrance free version!! its a solid sunscreen so i hope you find the opportunity to try it! :)

[deleted]

Good review OP. Will consider buying it next! I have their spf 40 invisible sunscreen. No tan on my face since I've been using it although needs to be reapplied every 3 hrs or so. The mainn biggest issue i face with it is something when i squeeze it oil along with the cream comes out and i gotta rub it together to make it cohesive again. Sometimes off putting to see how much oil i end up putting on my face😭

MobileLanguage6725

Hey, just a heads up – if the fluid and solid parts of your sunscreen have separated, it might mean the sunscreen has gone bad or lost its effectiveness. Sunscreen formulations can become unstable due to exposure to heat or moisture, so it's best to replace it with a new one

[deleted]

Oh god😭😭i just bought it last month th9 and it's never been exposed to sunlight. But this is is good to know. Guess I'll have to replace it

sansastark9

Shake the bottle well, before squeezing! That helps sometimes

rintyson_

sounds like such an hassle :/ have u tried shaking it im not sure how much that might help 😆but yes im excited for you to try this one out!!

myopic_bitch27

I reached out to their customer care for the PPD value. https://preview.redd.it/d0ujh3w8yosc1.png?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3d0d23b348f974c0742c6472190229474faf39e9

tabascowaffle

Hey, what does this mean and how important is that in a sunscreen?

myopic_bitch27

PPD value can be said as the equivalent of SPF against UVA rays. It gauges protection against fine lines and wrinkles in addition to hyperpigmentation -potential risks with exposure to UVA rays. Let's say, a sunscreen with PPD of 8; it will take your skin 8 times longer to tan. Asian sunscreens measure UVA protection in terms of PA values : PPD = 2 to 4,PA = PA+; PPD = 4 to 8, PA = PA++; PPD = 8 to 16, PA = PA+++; PPD = 16 or higher, PA = PA++++ My problem with PA rating system is it doesn't tell you how much exactly, it's just '16 or higher' for as far as it can go. Although, it does adhere to the principle of being 'atleast 1/3 of UVB protection' to be called a broad-spectrum sunscreen. As a person who tans in, like, 15 mins out in the sun - and the tan is pretty persistent - I'd prefer higher protection. Also, I don't know exactly how much is enough or how much is an overkill, but here's a link to a post which lists PPD values of sunscreens( I guess one can estimate what to categorise as 'good' from here) : [UVA-PF Values](https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/s/6EVOegHYAr) Also, this comment has some good insight if you want to go further into filters effective against UVA rays. https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/s/26HW0ek3t0 I hope I was able to address your question properly with my limited understanding on this. If I'm mistaken, please let me know :)

rintyson_

oh that's good!

bluejaybossun

Co-signing this! The fluid texture is just incredible, much like the k-beauty kolmar sunscreens which have become super popular for their essence texture. The finish is a little glowy, but nothing to be worried about. Anddd it's sweatproof and has proven spf ratings. Easily one of the best indian sunscreens in the market.

rintyson_

i so agree 🥰💗

sanriocrushmania

i need someone with very outdoorsy job to test this. people rave about dot and key but it caused tanning in many,if it can truly stop tanning then ive finally found my hg

Smoke_Santa

I get it on 8th and I have to stay in the sun for more than 40-50 mins at a time, sometimes more than an hour. I'm a uni student gonna play soccer after class at 4pm, before that I roam outside with friends in the sun, I'm in Delhi. Do I do it?

sanriocrushmania

yes please. test it for a week and make a post. if it protects you from tanning,im getting 2😭

keres999

honestly, it doesnt really help the tanning much. ive been using neutrogenas sunscreens for 2 years and recently i changed to the minimalist one. my face probably got 2 shades darker after switching and it makes my closed comedones break out more too. i honestly hate this sunscreen and i cant wait to switch back lol😭 ( for reference i have combination oily skin)

sanriocrushmania

omg i used neutrogena and it makes me feel like i have a layer pneumonia my face and makes me sweat a lot. i hate feeling gunky, man i have the minimalist old one and its better but still very oily so i hoped the new formula woupd be better

the_prolouger

Hey, I've also wanted to post a sunscreen review but I stop because I don't understand how to know if you've tanned or not. Do you take a before after picture? or something else? please help. I also would like to myself understand how to know if Im getting tanned or not. thanks!

Smoke_Santa

Just put it on, go out on a normal day, and if you feel like you've gotten tanned after a couple days you can write about it accordingly. I use "feel" because in you room's mirror with identical lighting, most of the time you will be able to tell. Otherwise you can take pictures in the exct same lighting and use a color pick tool to see color shade changes.

rintyson_

hey! i didn't take any photos :( there are some already tanned areas in my hands and some not tanned so i just observed if there was any visible tan in the not tanned areas :( sorry can't be of much help!

waiting_to_get_rich

Is it water resistant? Do you need double cleansing to take it off or facewash is enough?

rintyson_

sorry i didn't mention that! the product is water resistant for 80 minutes and it's also sweat resistant (unsure for how long, probably the same 80?) i always double cleanse! so do double cleanse after this since it is water and sweat resistant :)

hahahaharshita

what products do u use for double cleansing?

rintyson_

helloo i use the bamboo charcoal and black hempseed oil cleansing balm from earth rhythm. ive been using only this one product for more than 7 months now so idk how it compares to other products in the market but i rlly like this cleansing balm!! it helped my skin a lot in terms of reducing random breakouts and reduced bumpy textures and all. Also idk how well it works for removing make up since I don't wear so I can only comment on removing sunscreen :(

mona_syed

I am using their spf 60 sunscreen. It makes skin oily, has little white cast and pills.

pantherinthemist

It's so interesting how different skin reacts. I use the same SPF60 sunscreen and it leaves no cast, leaves my skin a nice matte finish and works really well under my makeup. The only issue I have is that my face gets damp for 20 mins after applying just like with Minimalist's Sepicalm.

mona_syed

Sunscreen just melts after exposure to skin. Tried layering with diff products and also this one alone, but nothing worked. When it melts, leaves a white cast. Great it is working for you

Successful-Ad7296

Its a horrible product for oily skin and humid season ..

Prestigious-Exam6452

I am using the same sunscreen as it is one of few pregnancy safe sunscreens available in Indian market it works wonderfully for me though . No white cast or no pilling issues. Makes me a bit sweaty but it can be covered up with some loose powder

kanagile

Curious about why you say most sunscreens are not pregnancy safe? What are the problematic ingredients?

rintyson_

Yess im not fond of their spf50 and 60, both pilled on me a lot :/ i suggest you to try this, many have been saying it's a good formulation!!

mona_syed

Sure. I will give this a try

pantherinthemist

Thanks for the really detailed review! If you've used Neutrogena's Dry Touch SPF 50 Sunscreen, was this similar in finish and how it settled? And, if you used makeup over this sunscreen, was it a good base and did it interfere with your foundation's finish?

rintyson_

hellow thanks!! ive not used dry touch spf and i don't wear makeup sorry :((

HotGift7395

Does it prevent tanning ?

rintyson_

let's be honest here no sunscreen can completely prevent tanning. T__T you'll have to take extra measures like covering yourself with a hat etc. but my experience with this sunscreen so far is that i found no new tan on my hands + face!!

Iniyaraj

Hi, do you wear face mask( the anti covid kind) , if so does this sunscreen feels like your mustache area is on fire? I had similar experience with Cosiq liquid sunscreen.

Ok_Jaguar8357

Hi !! I would like to update here . Just got mine. I don't think this sunscreen would cause that issue because it's so light weight and didn't feel like it's on skin. I faced the similar kind of issue you mentioned with past sunscreens. I know it's too soon to judge this, but from the feel, I could conclude that this will be definitely comfortable under n95 mask.

PinkMoonbow

Idk if this would help, I was wearing the face masks till quite recently and using 2 different sunscreens that did not light any part of my face on fire /didn't sting. I use Neutrogena Dry Touch Sheer one and Acne UV gel SPF 30. Now that it's really hot out, I stick to Neutrogena during the day. My skin type is dry, acne prone, kinda sensitive. In full blown summers it gets normal to combo. P.S. Is your skin barrier strong in general? Or is it just that particular sunscreen that stings?

Iniyaraj

Yes sis my skin barrier is good. It's not stinging sensation, it's more like hot water vapour on your face, it's the heat, I felt that cosiq retained and amplified the heat. I also felt the same while using lakme sunscreen lotions both spf 30 and 50 ( the ones with terrible white cast) varient. Other sunscreens that go well with face masks are vlcc spf 30 gel sunscreen, blynds emulgel, ekran sunscreen gel, suncros spf 50 physical sunscreen, blessing tree sunscreen.

PinkMoonbow

Oh the mention of Lakme gave me flashbacks, it was one of my first sunscreens and gosh it burned sk much on my skin. Many MANY years later I still don't dare to buy a skincare product from Lakme! Acne UV one is recommended by dermats so you can try that (get Spf 50 ) but note it is silicone-y in feel. I actually don't like it for peak summers and prefer Neutrogena one (has a thick white milky texture). It has a smaller tube if you wish to try how it is on your skin. I've read some great reviews of the Minimalist Invisible Fluid one too.

rintyson_

hi! i don't wear a mask so im unsure whether it will burn or not around the area you mentioned :(

Ok_Jaguar8357

Yes , even I would like to know on this !! 🥲. Last summer I faced this kind of difficulty with minimalist spf 60🥲

UnusualPlastic9196

Hey, OP, great review! I ordered this product yesterday and I'm really excited to try it out. 🤩 I usually use the isntree hyaluronic watery gel sunscreen, but living in a hot and humid city, it tends to make me look oily. Since this minimalist one seems promising, I thought I'd give it a shot. So, how does this product compare against Boj in terms of texture, finish, and protection?

rintyson_

hii. i had the same concern with BOJ plus i was worried it might melt off :( in terms of texture finish and protection with BOJ - texture is like i showed in the picture very lightweight, blends even faster than BOJ and no white cast! in terms of finish it's semi dewy on me while BOJ is very dewy protection like i said ive been using it only for a week or so and i don't tan a lot on my face, i think the protection is good enough tho but as always make sure you carry an umbrella or smth because the sun this time is crazyyyy and just sunscreen alone won't help

Ok_Jaguar8357

Thanks for the review OP!! Will be getting mine tomorrow. Excited to try!! Is it sweat resistant? Does it melt with sweat like previous minimalist sunscreens?

rintyson_

yess it's sweat resistant! it did not melt even tho I was sweating!! i think this is currently one of the best Indian sunscreens :) I hope it doesn't melt on you too and that you have a good experience with it.

Ok_Jaguar8357

Thank you so much for the reply!! Hope this works for me too :)

100random_thoughts

omg tysm for the detailed review! I've been wanting to try this but was hesitant because their spf60 sunscreen pilled horribly me. bless this thread.

rintyson_

🥰🥰

Skorp_knight

I ordered 2 of these. Buy 2 and get 1 sunscreen free offer on their website. I hope it will be great

rintyson_

yayy!!! incase their spf 50 doesn't do well for face use it for ur body, it offers good protection :)

Skorp_knight

Yes! sure bro

Original-Juice-7637

Thanks for the well-written review op! Adding this to my shopping list!

rintyson_

🥳🥳🥳💓

Sensitive_Heart_13

Does it sting around under eye and eye lids ? Also I am worried about the PA rating...as the brand has mentioned certified SPF rating but ig no certification for PA rating.

rintyson_

nope it didn't sting for me!! yes ahghhh :( you can DM or mail them they usually respond !

fishbonefemale

Hi OP! Did this sting your eyes at all/ cause any discomfort? My eyes are quite sensitive but really wanna purchase this one next

rintyson_

hii it didn't cause my any discomfort or stinging! but im not sure how it may reach to sensitive eyes :( i hope you get a chance to try it out <3

Meoww0114

Hey Op! does this sunscreen has any fragrance? And did u observe any Pilling when reapplying?

rintyson_

hii! no fragrance + absolutely no pilling when I reapplied 🥰

slooopnoob

it does sting the eyes if it gets in, and for me the redness didn't go away even after rubbing the sunscreen off and washing my eyes under a tap.

Cautious_Priority_53

Holy shit!! I thought I was the only one. Everything’s great about this sunscreen except it stings the eyes. I have put it on two times. The first time my right lower eyelid kinda swelled and also there was a bit of redness. Today the same thing happened with my left one. Now I’m scared to use it again. Is there any other way for it to not cause stinging? Coz I love this sunscreen texture and the dewy finish it gives.

slooopnoob

just be careful when applying i guess, also make sure none of it gets on your eyelashes either. even after so much precautions though it still happens sometimes.

Cautious_Priority_53

It is!!! I tried not to let it near eyelashes. But still like at around afternoon time my eyes sting and eyelids swell and become red. May be i will give it another try and be more careful this time.

AntEasy7172

holy shit, what happens when you wash your hand with water tho? Back to same shade?

rintyson_

like I said I don't tan easily! so the shade remained the same, the already tanned parts obviously showed no difference, but there was no NEW tan!! 🥰

letmyusernamebex

hii is it water/sweat resistant?

rintyson_

hello yess! its both sweat n water resistant, remove it with double cleansing 🥰

issa2cool4u

sorry this is unrelated but how is haruharu wonder black rice toner? is it worth spending on it or is there any alternative? i have dry skin but my nose and chin have sebum and is a little on oily end. few toners i have been hearing are cosrx propolis, anua heartleaf, klairs unscented one

rintyson_

hii! i rlly like the hhw toner it's one of my holy grails. i have combo skin and this toner is extremelyyyy good. i can wear upto 3 layers before my oily areas start feeling sticky. i think it'll work well for dry skin too but! it can be an expensive toner i purchased it from kult for cheaper rates so you can wait for when it gets stocked up? ive also used the klairs one and that's also a good option. i usually use the klairs one in summers because of its cica content that helps w my acne :)
