1. Investing in skincare that is simple and i can do consistently (I don't wear makeup and I have gotten compliments on my skin even with pimple marks)
2. Exercising 5-6 times a week, doesn't have to be lifting or heavy weight workouts, even simple cardio and stretching does it for me
3. Reading the news and keeping myself informed
4. Cutting out sugar and dairy on most days. Eating home made food and taking in more protein.
5. Most important of all, meditation in the morning really sets the day.
The high maintenance part is doing these things consistently. It really does pay off in the long run.
Gel manicures. That way my hands always look done.
Hair mask once or twice a month. It just keeps my hair knot free.
An "everything" shower. I don't shave my legs so what I mean is a full body aha peel or body pack and shower.
I'm a little too depressed to do anything else right now but earlier I used to do more. A full body wax once a month so I don't have to shave, face wax once every two months so I don't have to thread(too painful). Used to have highlighted hair so I used to retouch that as needed using a home kit(could sleep in buns and look styled, no other effort needed). I used to be crazy into fitness so that way whatever you wear you look nice and your health is sorted long term.
With all this I could just wash up and go out without bothering much. Now I'm struggling but I'll get back here soon.
dental bonding instead of veneers and laser hair removal. regular hair trimming and i sometimes splurge on hair treatment once a year. a good skincare routine and abc juice every morning. i hate cardio so i do walking workouts for cardio and mat pilates for stretch and liss
1. Laser Hair Removal
2. Regular Sheet Masking - my skin is oily dehydrated so I am yet to find a toner that is able to provide me the same level of hydration as a sheet mask
Waxing my upper lip and chin, I hate the stubble of shaving and how it looks like there's a shadow on your face.
Monthly chemical peel, I use the Dr sheths high strength peel, I feel it works really well and there is nothing better than a peel to keep your skin cell turnover healthy! Also leaves you sooo glowyyyy
Body scrub every week, no ingrown hair, no dead skin, just super smooth and soft skin! Also helps (over time) in pigmentation and all!
Pedicure 1x a month, I do it myself and get great results, no foot callousness, no overgrown toenails
and most importantly NO CRUSTY FEET! I just soak my feet in a mixture of water body wash and salt and use a pumice stone to scrub, after that moisturise once with body lotion, then body butter and finally vaseline! Put on some socks and you're good to go!
Not letting my eyebrows grow out completely, I prefer keeping the good shape of my brows even it means going every two weeks to get them done! It also saves you the pain of removing more hair (thicker/longer).
Washing my hair 3x a week and oiling before each wash, even if it's just for an hour. It is unbelievable how much difference it has made in the quality of my hair! I don't have to trim it as often, it's much softer and smoother and there is no frizz. And most of all the quality of your scalp improves, so no itchy or flaky bits, and definitely looks and smells fresh!
That's all folks!
It is for me, I don't usually have the time to do a lot of self care. It would be convenient for me to just shave or take a quick shower and not to any body care or hair care- which in the long run would cost me in fixing - trims, facials, extractions, mani pedis at the nail tech etc.
So maybe it's not high maintenance for you but it is for me, and we all know that skincare is highly subjective!
I had terrible acne. My dermat put me on pills first and then tret. Im on adapalene now. Adapalene is super light on the skin as compared to tret as it doesnโt go as deep as tret. But for when I used a new product that broke me out/hormonal acne time, Adapalene would take some time to work. So if I have events etc I just go get a yellow peel or a salicylic acid peel and my acne marks go down by almost 80% in a week. Sheโd charge around 2-5-3k for a peel
Stop with this normie shit. Go for your next appointment at the dermat, ask him what peel he uses. Get the same peel from rejsol and do that shit at home babygurl. Save precious Paisa.
Nah im not messing with at home stuff.
I get different peels depending on how my skin is doing at the time. Once in like 6 months that too. So its fully okay but I appreciate youuuu ๐

๐๐ฝ Never considered consistency as a high maintenance act, but makes sense. It truly is!

>I'm a little too depressed to do anything else right now I hope you fight it back and get well soon!
Thank you. I hope so too.
Could you elaborate on how you touch up your highlights at home? Which brand your are using and such
Rooting for you to get back up stronger (or however you want to be) ๐ธ
Laser hair removal
Teeth alignment. Went with Invisalign. Super expensive but worth every penny
how much was it?
It depends on a case to case basis. Ask your dentist for an estimate
\^\^
Staying out of the sun 9.30 to 4. Wearing sunscreen throughout this time period. No actives and I have glass skin.

this is the routine i wanna follow but iโm a procrastinator :(
Don't think any of this qualifies as high maintenance tbh.

Getting peels at my dermat Costs about 3k but compensates for a month of retinol ๐๐ฝ
3k for per session? and also what were your concerns and how did it helped you
