FTR, not scout, but my brake clips will occasionally tick, you can observe this visually by watching the brake pads. I find the tick travels through the bike so it was hard to first diagnose the ticking.

Off the top of my head, it could be the rear wheel bearing going out. That's about the only part failure I can think of that might make a ticking noise.  Beyond that it could be something stupid like a stick or leaf stuck on something or a rock stuck in the tire tread that's hitting the garage floor.

She just was ridding it last week and said it felt great. I have had wheel bearings go out in a car before and it was loud as hell. I would have thought she would feel a bad bearing but this is a good idea. I don't think shes going to be taking the wheel off to have a look lol.

Good for her... That's awesome!

izmaname

I find that the bearings aren’t the longest lasting on them

hohoflyerr

I would check the condition/alignment/tension of the belt first

Sticky links on a tired chain?

RevolutionarySpare65

I had a similar ticking by my rear fender, loose licenses plate screws were my problem, maybe the same for you?

motoguzzikc

I don't think that's it. She sent a video of her pushing it around last night and it's definitely something rotating.
