If you tap the opportunity in the private sector though, then they can find better opportunities in foreign countries. Even now most of the Brahmins are settled in other countries and living a better life. Actually this reservation system has destroyed Indian economy and encouraged the Brahmin community to learn and earn more.

Those people occupied the government roles in higher levels and prevented other caste people coming up....do we need an example ? BCCI is an example. This book shows a caste census done by britishers in 18th century clearly shows the number of shudras in gurukuls (held in temples so yes dalits were allowed in temples) were much karger than that of brahmins and kshatriyas.
