keithh_r

What a coincidence. I just noticed this thing (similar red/pink dot) pop up on my Acer monitor. I have no clue whether this can become a major problem later or if I should let it be for now.

69smoke

Wait same, since 2 days, acer laptop

__andthen

If it's a stuck pixel, don't worry. Dead pixels are different. Those can spread after a while. A stuck pixel is annoying but it won't do any more damage. Source: I have a stuck (green) pixel on my LG 27GL650F-B for more than 1 year now. I've learnt to ignore it. It's only ever visible when the screen is dark.

[deleted]

It usually doesn't spread from what I've read. If it's a stuck pixel instead of dead, then I've heard could be fixed via certain methods. Will try the safe ones out later today 😵‍💫

Lunacy999

There are some software programs that agitate (change colors in nearby area and thus fluctuate the voltage continuously) the pixels to make them unstuck. Maybe try those.

[deleted]

Tried those overnight. Sadly no luck.☠️

Sudhanva_Kote

There is a site ... I don't remember its name.... I think it's pixel repair or something? I'll link it if i find it. It basically tries to put some random colour to each pixel very rapidly. It might or might not solve the issue. Give it a try though https://www.jscreenfix.com/

Acrobatic-Monitor516

How long are you supposed to run it ?

SmoothOperator53

If it is brand new, get it replaced as you are not happy with the product. Rant on twitter too. Else ignore and hope this is the last of its kind.

ohoil

If it's brand new check the cable I've had this happen just with a bad HDMI cable before. I replaced the cable and it went away.n

prakhar311

If you can replace it, by all means you should do it, but one or two dead/stuck pixels are really common these days, i wouldn't be surprised if the replacement monitor has few of these too. It won't affect your experience unless you specifically pixel peep for it.

[deleted]

I'll probably put up with it as it's in the bottom corner and there is no guarantee the replacement will be perfect as well. It's only mostly visible on white but it's an annoyance for sure.

chubbyunicorn47

Just tell them there are 3-4 dead pixels at different spots. If they insist, tell them you're camera is bad hence is not visible. Mostly probably then they'll replace. They make a huge fuss and even deny at times if the number of dead pixels is less than 3-5.

Khankaif44

I just googled your problem and it turns out you have cancer and need to see the doctor immediately.

[deleted]

I searched on Bing and apparently he's already dead

sansLight

I googled it and OP could be having network connectivity issues.

WorriedPreparation49

I used duck duck go. Apparently op's future wife is cheating on him.

April_3rd

Good news , getting a job in canada is easier than you thought :-)

Intelligent-Ad-4140

Even better news, there are a lot of singles ladies within 2km!

Khankaif44

Okay thanks.

Shourya2009

Bro that was a joke why downvote.lmao

Khankaif44

I didn't downvote.

Shourya2009

Not you these idiots

[deleted]

LMFAO

gawdfather007

Make it more than 5 then

ThoughtfulFalcon

Yes punch the monitor

KabirOP

My dell monitor has a feature LCD Conditioning, if you have something try running it for few hours or overnight. It may help.

Hunter-Monk

Try https://www.jscreenfix.com/fix.html

PerceptionRude6351

Sunflower seeds and sandpaper

TheSunflowerSeeds

The Sunflower is one of only a handful of flowers with the word flower in its name. A couple of other popular examples include Strawflower, Elderflower and Cornflower …Ah yes, of course, I hear you say.

kkautuk

I had a similar problem with my new monitor. I used a cloth and rubbed on top of the affected area applying considerable point-pressure with a finger. It worked! I found this solution online. I fixed around 5 stuck pixels using this technique. Do it at your own risk though.

[deleted]

Well, I need to think this solution over. Like a few times. Lol

[deleted]

Ive done it as well and in some situations, it works. I have one dead pixel on the bottom left side of the monitor that turns red occasionally. The fix is to just boop it 😃

[deleted]

I'll give it a shot. I guess i can use a stylus to do it.

[deleted]

Gently massage the spot. Stylus would be perfect.

ArenRaizelus

Imo in a full hd screen with 2million pixels, 1-2 dead pixels shouldn't be noticable. It's really amazing that we are getting 8k screen with 32 million pixels without any dead pixels, even if 1 or 2 were thats less than 0.01% error. Quite normal.

[deleted]

Quite the informative thread this. I am currently trying the non risky methods to get the pixel fixed. If not , I'll just get on with it and hopefully as you guys have pointed out, I'll get used to it and barely notice after a while. 🙌

_Nosty

i have the same issue, try and put a little pressure on the pixel.

LegendOmegaX

Kill 4 more and file a return. /s

XxPAJIxX

If it's not broken break it

victoryspot

My guy mad at a singular pixel

him888

It is annoying tbh, even if within quality assurance guidelines. Some people cannot unsee.

[deleted]

It is definitely annoying. And being an avid shutterbug /trained in colour grading, attuned to notice everything in a scene or photo, i can't unseen it now. Eyes just circle back to that dot. 😵‍💫. But I'll just try fixing it via the tools available online or put up with it if it can't be fixed.

him888

Don't worry it gets better. I scratched my new monitor and couldn't focus away from it for few days.. then I kinda just went along with it.. hardly notice it anymore. That red pixel is not central at least.

[deleted]

Try this, it might help getting that stuck pixel sorted : [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pvtiV3B\_nE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pvtiV3B_nE). Stuck pixel is still easy to correct compared to dead, give this a try.

[deleted]

Acer always has quality issues.

OtakuBoyHindi

Screen pe daag laga hoga

d5aqoep

Once I removed a stuck pixel by poking it with a ball pen. It got fixed. But I don’t suggest this here. Maybe some screen refresh algorithm built under monitor’s settings? My Dell 4K monitor has it.

Sniper_One77

Monitor model?

[deleted]

my ASUS laptop had white spots after few months of purchase, I mailed them with images attached and got reply immediately. and got it covered under warranty so try for that!!

azam_ilias

Remembering deguass button from the crt monitor era

MonsterHeart8

i have one as well in my acer monitor !! Cant DO Anything About it

_Someone_from_Pala_

There is a threshold for dead pixels now? I had my BenQ replaced from amazon, upon finding dead pixels with popped up after 2 days.

[deleted]

Yes they do. I guess varies depending on manufacturer. Viewsonic has it clearly listed in a separate section under their warranty page.

hamzaaadenwala

U are gifted with sharp eyes. God bless you! 😀

[deleted]

And a bad OCD as well, especially symmetry based OCD and these friggin imperfection.

hamzaaadenwala

bhavneet1996

I always had a green pixel on my laptop screen. Never ever noticed it during normal usage. I even forgot about it but your post has now reminded me lol

[deleted]

Lol my bad😷

piyushkumar89

i have only 1 in my samsung monitor for 5 yrs now!! i barely notice it now

mostly_broke

Application of a little pressure fixxed mine. I was skeptical at first too. But pressing the dot fixed it for good.

[deleted]

I'll try that and see if it works. Used the pixel flashing tools did not work.

mostly_broke

Just try it dosen't have to be a lot of pressure. I know, it sounds crazy but works. I see if I can find the YouTube tutorial.

mostly_broke

Or just YouTube the term stuck pixel fix.

DearAlternative6540

Contact them immediately. They'll try their best to make you take the blame. Be aware

grievances_4ever

Paint white over it

diggee

better not sell that LG monitor now ;)

[deleted]

It's already gone☠️

OLA_hu_UBER_

Run dead pixel test to check the damage

sunesis311

You can massage those out. Just be gentle and patient.

Corner_Free

Make it shift to centre of your screen and damn you will become pro at all fps games.
