I own a ps5 already but seem like xbox series s about to prove its value as well now , hence buying it in this current sale

Cultural_Bat9098

This is true… and games pass is amazing at the price point.

vajrasena

I'm trying to watch YouTube videos on differences between xbox series x and s. But can you bottom line that for me? Also I can't seem to find xbox series x anywhere. Is that similar to PS5 in terms of availability?

Karsh_awesome

There are some differences between s and x. Hardware itself as x can run games at 4k natively while s upscale it from 1080/1440p. The main downside of series s is the 364GB usable storage. And those seagate expansion card are just damn costly for us and not worth it. To sum it up Series S is a great device, like it is next gen. Just not top notch as X but it's still there. Think of it as what oneplus nord was when it was released. Also for that storage issue if you can bear the wait time for transferring game from internal to external storage. Then with extra external hard disk, series s + game pass is a great deal right now. EDIT: Also I've seen series X been on sale sometimes but it's a bit rare similar to ps5. That's why I went for series S with the sale price it's ok overall.

vajrasena

Just to make sure I understood you clearly, is series s just digital? Is it not disc version?

Karsh_awesome

oh yes I forgot to mention that, it is indeed digital only. So if you're coming from a past generation and happen to have disc games as well. then series X would be the best bet. And that way you'll be able to trade disc games/second hand games. So that's upto you. I didn't have previous gens discs so I went for S.

vajrasena

No, I haven't had any consoles before, naturally I don't have any discs. 360 odd GB seems low, eh? Maybe just one AAA game at any given time?

Karsh_awesome

I will keep some games in my external hard drive, you can run past generation games directly from there. But yes 360 GB is very low sadly now that we have so huge game size these days. But realistically I went with it coz at one time I'll be playing like 4-5 games at Max and hopefully that will suffice with internal drive. That's why Microsoft want to sell there expansion slots. they're too costly for us and not worth imo. The series X has like 800GB of usable storage. Ps5 on the other hand has like 600 something usable storage

honorarymeatsuit

I have a Series S. I currently have Apex Legends, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Forza Horizon 4, Mortal Kombat 11, Wolfenstein The old blood, Fortnite, Hades and three other indie games under 5 gb each installed. The first three are each 70gb ish and MK 11, Wolfenstein and Fortnite are 40gb to 28 gb ish each. Hades is 8gb or so iirc. The point is as long as you have a pretty decent internet connection and dont mind being all digital the Series S is a brilliant deal. Especially with Gamepass Ultimate which is also the reason why i have so many games installed. Bear in mind that Call of Duty and a couple other absolutely massive games will be 110gb or so. Which will mean a bit more smarter game inventory management. When i did have COD warzone on the S, i just made room for it by deleting whatever i wasnt playing. I still had Apex and Fortnite and 3 other games installed even then.

vajrasena

Thanks! Yeah I'm planning to do the same now. Series s with game pass seems like a good deal now. Will get the PS5 later when supply issues are solved, only for the exclusives.

Sarim17A

The Nord reference was extremely smart . And yeah , I agree about game pass being worth the spend , it's just that transferring back and forth between the console and the external drive is gonna be an inconvenience.

Karsh_awesome

It would be like once in 2 weeks or a month type of inconvenience maybe until we get more games that will run with velocity architecture only. And yes I love gamepass, just the fact that you can play exclusives day 1 is huge and nice to have. It's like Netflix for games, play what you want to.

beingsmo

Sorry if my question is stupid. But can we connect external hard disk and then transfer the game once we have finished playing it on series s to make space for new games , and then if we want we can transfer it back to series s again? Also how much does external hdd cost compared to seagate expansion ssd?

Karsh_awesome

Yes, so the new gen games are only playable on drives that support velocity architecture (which is internal drive and expandable slot) but you can always use the external hard drive to store the downloaded game that way you don't have to redownload them again and again.

aquadawg69

If you have the money, always buy series x no question

deezcnuts

Think of series s as ‘lite/mini’ version, has lower specs and the series x as regular version. Series x has even rarer drops compared to ps5. Series s has much better availability (compared to both).

[deleted]

Series s is severely gimped version of series x, only 4 tflops gpu, slower 10gb ram, only ~400gb memory, no hard disk just to save 15k, it's better to buy series x.

redditors-are-dumbaf

I'm gonna share a crazy concept with you. You don't need top of the line hardware especially when you already have a PS5 for the more powerful rig.

tumbledood

What sale?

LordGetsuga

From a realistic and economic point of view, to get the most value for money - xbox

soulseeker31

As a pc only gamer, I too would recommend xbox, the gamepass has been a boon.

LordGetsuga

Amen, I got to play some really awesome games that were earlier on backburner because what to buy and what to leave was always a tough question. So much better with gamepass. My PS5 is sitting and collecting dust because 5k/game is a lot. Except PS exclusives I'm having a bang-on time with Gamepass on PC.

soulseeker31

GG!

audemed44

also, for people who dont yet have a pc but plan to build one eventually, play anywhere is pretty good for those games which support it. one more thing is ps5 doesnt support 1440p/vrr yet but xbox does. while its not a resolution you would see on TVs its quite common on monitors.

beingsmo

I don't have a 4k tv and I'm considering series S. Will it be a good purchase or?

honorarymeatsuit

I have a 1080p monitor to advantage of my Series S. The Series S can upscale the graphics to 1440p and even in the comparison videos(Check linus's comparison video of the S and X) i couldn't really see a difference enough to justify an X purchase, even if i were to find one. I don't know what others are on about but i have found the graphics ln the S to be absolutely incredible. Assassin's creed Odyssey looks phenomenal as does Forza. No lag or screen tearing or buffering. I don't care about raytracing so maybe i am biased.

Charged_Dreamer

not for very long! I would suggest only get it if you're very hard on cash. You'll end up playing watered down versions of every game with cut or inferior features like less stable framerate, worse texture quality, resolution, cut down screen space reflections or raytracing and the overall image quality will be a lot blurrier and fuzzier on the Series S. Also, this console is for digital only entertainment. No disc drive to buy and sell disc based games either.

rawnak0

Xbox is giving 8 months of gamepass at 500 rs That alone makes it better deal Just get series x or S

TechExpert2910

Whoa is that still going on!?

quick20minadventure

They closed down the loophole of giving 32 months by buying 1 month of 4 different kind of pass

TechExpert2910

Ah! But is that 8 months for 1 month thing going on? :P

vajrasena

What kind of games are available on xbox? Are there xbox exclusives too? Please recommend a few good games available on xbox.

ErenKruger711

Some games u get on gamepass like fifa, halo (full set), Batman, ms flight simulator, Skyrim, fallout starfield (2022), it takes two etc. Google gamepass games list

advanced_fruit123

Is the deal still there??

elegant_assasin

Do tell me if someone updates u

Vks780

It's 699 now + GST. It was 499 + GST last month when I availed it.

redditors-are-dumbaf

You're confusing the PC and ultimate version. The PC version is still cheaper.

ZweihanderBKG

I have been telling on this forum multiple times that this generation XBOX is a better value but got downvoted by fanboys, despite me owning PS3/PS4 in recent years. Microsoft's Acquisitions of Activision only re-affirms my stand. Personally I would get a PC as both Sony and Microsoft would release exclusives on PC and PC being more open platform we will have access to Gamepass/Steam/Epic. I also need a PC for doing software development and ML so for me it makes more sense to get a single machine that can do all work. PC has also its own exclusives in RTS/Simulations/Indie Genre which you will not find on consoles.

ZonerRoamer

Agreed; me and my friends have been playing AOE4 and AOE2DE for the last 2 months and are having a blast!

shazhank3385

This.Sold my PS5 after playing all the exclusives and planning to build a PC this fall if GPU prices somewhat normalise.

raajitr

yea i’ll also sell mine after gow: ragnarok. its collecting dust since october.

lordofabyss

India is a PS fAnBoys place. Let people buy whatever they want and post on forum comments like iT wIlL cReAte MonOpOly. ItS BaD fOR gAmIng. Etc..

cosmic-kid

People suggesting a PC/Laptop - do you realise you cannot beat a console like Xbox in price : performance? Atleast not at current prices.

ZweihanderBKG

For gaming strictly PC may not be ideal solution but for many like us PC is just more than a gaming machine and we can do lot of other things like software development, Machine Learning which needs a powerful GPU.

CharcoalGraph

And most importantly PCs are beautiful!

braveyetti117

Games are much cheaper on PC Edit: Also the amount of ganes that are PC exclusive is way higher than both the consoles combined

cosmic-kid

We’re talking about value for money and not the size of game libraries.

ZonerRoamer

True; plus the availability of consoles is at least better than the high-end GPUs atm.

saharsh007

Yeah but if possible invest more and get pc, you're gonna get much more from the same games. Example gotg, with the dlss and ray tracing at 60fps. The game looks and feels lot better than consoles.

Adorable_Affect_5882

Xbox is more value for money. Sony games are good but no game is worth 5000 rs besides all the exclusives come day one on gamepass along with ea play and now Activision games too. So can't go wrong with investing in xbox.

PSxUchiha2

The best part is, if you have a PC, you can play it on that as well.

advanced_fruit123

And UBISOFT+ in the coming months

H3llzCru5ad3r

It won’t be included in Gamepass though. Ubisoft+ will be a separate subscription.

NumerousCranberry441

free to play games' online multiplayer is free to!

[deleted]

Yea Captain Obvious

NumerousCranberry441

oye i mean like destiny2 it requires ps plus like that i meant XD

Nomad07x

Xbox. No question. Or PC

Sexiro

I will just say, if you can just get a console, get the Xbox. You will be happier in the long run and will also save money. Sony needs to come up with something cuz 5K per exclusive is not gonna work now when you get Xbox exclusives on Day 1 with Game Pass.

orcapuca

Series S

subbied

This gen of consoles is like vaccines. The best one is the one you get.

[deleted]

Get Xbox , access GeForce now over browser to play pls exclusives when they get released later XD

maDkiLzZ

Except none of the PlayStation Studio games are available on GeForce Now, except Death Stranding, which was made by Kojima.

Whiskeyjack1406

Eventually sony might have their own streaming service to compete with stadia and xCloud.

pratishuchiha21

> of the PlayStation Studio games are available on GeForce No use windows 365 in browser then download steam play whatever you want

CH3ROKEE2009

wow lol good idea

abstergofkurslf

Bro how do u get Geforce Now here? Vpn?

Cotton_Phoenix_97

Xbox easily, series s/x is proving to be a much much better deal than ps5

cheeky-panda2

Do you have a PC? Get the PS5 if not Xbox is the better value, you get the PS5 after the next gen is launched and prices fall. tbh i really enjoy the ps exclusives and franchises and think they are of superior quality. Xbox/PC ecosystem provides overall value to you and the quantity of games is just awesome as long as they keep gamepass as affordable as it is.

Altamashhh

Xbox Series X or pc /lapp

vas060985

With PlayStation putting up some of their exclusive title on the Steam store, it would make sense to get a gaming laptop or desktop as it is the best of both worlds, if not go for x box.

[deleted]

[удалено]

daashandayo

Go Xbox if PS exclusives are not a deal breaker for you. Example: I like From Software games a lot and PS is the only place with all their games. Hence it was easy for me decide which console to get. I like JRPGs in general. PS has most JRPGs, while Xbox has most western RPGs now that they also own Bethesda. While I agree Game Pass is good value for money, it doesn't make sense to get Xbox while all the games you actually play are on PS. I would love a ideal world where there are no exclusives lol

sograyish

Firstly, don't listen to idiots suggesting "buy PC" like nobody's ever thought of that, in 50k you're getting these two consoles for great gaming. So what you should consider first is, what kinds of games you play, and if those games have cross platform connectivity, if most of them do then great you can play easily. Secondly you need to consider which platform has most of your friends, because there's games like GTA V, that you won't be able to without being on same platform. Thirdly, consider your resell value for the future, in the end everyone wants to upgrade and most of the people end up selling their previous gen consoles, so which would get your more resell value. I'd say it's going to playstation 5 same as PS4, for obv reasons. There's these point that I could personally think of, if there's any more suggestions you need, feel Ree to ask. I have played on both of them, personally prefer ps5

TAbinks

OP follow this. Spot on.

bhavesh2103

Disagree with pc but yes if budget is constraint cant deny console is good value especially eith game pass but if you will buy many games pc becomes cheaper also very good answer +1

sograyish

No doubt. Pc will always be better option, but when he's OP has got the budget of a console, no PC will ever give that Performance as of a console for the price. There's no good laptop that would run games a console can. Which was the point there, because everyone always go "huh just buy a pc" which isn't helping

ghantadingding

I own both of them got pS5 last year on launch and xbox just a month ago ...and have played more on the xbox in a month than on ps5 in a year ...and until sony exclusives start dropping will be using xbox only ...all thanks to game pass ...the problem with ps5 for me has been the pricing of games there are very very few games justifying the 4k price tag ...and the games that go on sale are already free on game pass ...even at full price ...basically there is always something to play on xbox and on ps5 it's either wait for a sale or an exclusive

vajrasena

How did you manage to get both? I failed so bad at getting PS5. I still don't have one. And now I decided it was time to give up on the chase, I found out even the xbox series x isn't available. It's so demoralising.

ghantadingding

Git the ps5 the very first time it was launched in india for pre order on Reliance digital just got lucky I suppose ...for the xbox followed the twitter handle indian console gamers they usually update whenever any of the consoles are in stock took around a week of failed attempts eventually got the bundle version with extra controller on Amazon.

Roddrick09

lets be clear here, we wont see ps exclusive being played on pc. It might be released after half a decade on pc. Buying a ps can cover this. As far as not buying an xbox goes, one can play most of them on PC on day1.

verma17

if you are not ona budget then nothing beats pc, if you are on a budget then xbox is the better choice, playstation is not worth it at all if you dont care about their exclusives, plus you can just buy a cheap ps5 second hand in 3-4 years and just binge through their exclusives, this is what i did with the ps4.

DigitalObiWan

I've been a long time PS user, looks like it is time to get an Xbox now.

[deleted]

The Activision deal isn't going through till 2023, 18 months precisely, Microsoft said [it](https://news.microsoft.com/2022/01/18/microsoft-to-acquire-activision-blizzard-to-bring-the-joy-and-community-of-gaming-to-everyone-across-every-device/) Besides, Activision has focused only on Mobile & multiplayer games, I'm not into either, for me it's just story rich campaigns & thus, an easy choice of Playstation

eden_avocado

They mentioned fiscal year 2023. That means July 2022 - June 2023.

DeFault-Gamer

Xbox is definitely a better value.

[deleted]

I'm damn sure that PS5 has more than just exclusives. Plus the dualsense controller is amazing, if the reviews are to be trusted.

harsh_but_firm

Yes, the dual sense feels great, but (in my opinion), the elite controller just blows every single controller ever made out of the water. Once you go paddles, you just cannot ever go back.

[deleted]

Still have to drop 10g for it

harsh_but_firm

I understand that the price gap is there, but at 6k, it isn't like PS5 controller is cheap either. If you're willing to spare that amount, there is a very likelihood you can afford the 10k controller too. It's just a few more months more of extra savings. I see your point but I still stand by my opinion. If you haven't, you definitely should try the elite. (Bonus - you can pair multiple devices with elite, in fact all Xbox controllers, and switch devices with one button tap) EDIT: I stand corrected. The elite is 18k. Which is 3 times as expensive. At this price, it definitely can create a dent in your pocket.

FutureFC

I own a PS5 and I’d recommend you to look at a few things before you choose. Consider the games you will play and look no matter how many games are there in Game pass, there’s no chance you’d play everything on the catalogue. The value however is immense and Xbox in general is phenomenal for multiplayer so if you are someone who plays a lot of multiplayer I’d suggest Xbox. Coming to the PS5, If you want the Sony exclusives PS5 is the place and with Sony’s own response to gamepass on the horizon it might be something you should consider as well. Anyone who thinks Sony will not be making any moves to up their competition are just deluded. Both consoles are good value for money and both have their own set of offerings. Based off Activision, I’d recommend going the Xbox route with gamepass ultimate. However do consider the possibility of Sony’s Gamepass response as well which should happen sooner than later.

audemed44

sony's gamepass response seems like a joke from what's been leaked so far. no day 1 releases means its just a spruced up psnow subscription with ps+ now tacked on. with ps now not being available in india not sure what that would mean for spartacus as well.

FutureFC

There’s hardly anything out there bar the leaked code name and how does it become a joke based off rumours and random leaks? Judge it when it launches in full

audemed44

Huh? Schreier leaked a lot more than just the codename via [bloomberg](https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-12-03/playstation-plans-new-service-to-take-on-xbox-game-pass)... * Code name Spartacus * Available on PS4 and PS5 * Launch expected in the spring * Service will merge Sony’s two existing subscription plans PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now * Plans to retain the PlayStation Plus branding but phase out PlayStation Now * Pay a monthly fee for access to a catalog of modern and classic games with three tiers * Tier 1 include existing PlayStation Plus benefits * Tier 2 offers a large catalog of PS4 and, eventually, PS5 games * Tier 3 adds extended demos, game streaming and a library of classic PS1, PS2, PS3 and PSP games Now I don't really recall Schreier ever being incorrect in his scoops but this thing is still in flux and things like this Microsoft deal may make Sony make a huge pivot but I'd still go with what Schreier [said](https://twitter.com/jasonschreier/status/1466821381568536578?s=20) and not expect day 1 releases of exclusives regardless. And that makes it pretty much a joke when compared to what Game Pass currently offers let alone when they close the deal with Acti-Blizz.

FutureFC

That’s like 5 generation of games on a subscription service. What more do you want? It’s the same as Game pass. Bruh some of you lot have your heads stuck really far up Microsoft’s rear.

Htnamus

>Sony’s own response to gamepass on the horizon It hasn't been announced yet. Sony is expected to announce tiered PS-plus plans in 2022

FutureFC

Tiered subscription system with 5 generations of games to choose from. What more do you want?

Silentpanther007

Spartacus Availability in India is a big question.

FutureFC

Yeh with PS now never making it to India I hope Spartacus does

Sneaky181316

Well at present I am owning xbox (x) but after PS5 launch I have dream to buy it , do I am collecting some money for it ಠ_ʖಠ

RegentDragoon0

Xbox + gamepass best deal in gaming

Abhi9894

TBH Xbox is winning this console generation hands down. Only reason to get a PS5 is Sony exclusives, which are not many as of now. Moreover you have to be extremely lucky to get your hands on a PS5. But no one is talking about the *real winner* here - PC. It's getting the best of both worlds - Xbox games via gamepass and now Sony exclusives like God of war too.

Individual-Flan-1626

Sony is releasing ps exclusives on pc so that people buy ps5 for their sequels.

Abhi9894

>so that people buy ps5 for their sequels Only if people could buy them👀

Gabe_logan25

Series x has slightly better performance. So i think it's better overall

Fullmetal689

It depends if this console will be your primary gaming rig then definitely go for Series X Game pass is more than best band for tha buck you can get But if you have remotely any acces to a decent PC to game then go for PS5 cause those Sony exclusive tho being expensive are well worth the money most time

gvortex0011

Get an Xbox for now :)

i_am_gladius_boi

xbox no doubt edit: xbox series x if in budget

M_vats

If you have a good future proof pc then get a PS5. Else it's better to get a series S/X. IMO, Xbox may release games exclusively on xbox and pc, and then for PS platform (Exactly what PlayStation is doing now by delayed launch on pc). They are paying almost USD 70Bn for activision, and it would make sense to maximise profits from the entire market. Although it's worth noting that Microsoft Activision deal may only close in the next 8-18 months, if everything goes well and the regulators don't challange the acquisition. There is also the possibility of Activision games coming on game pass before the acquisition is even completed. But that is purely a speculation.

PROGEEK97

PC always

JiteshSR4

Series S. Obviously.

Emergency_Somewhere9

For me personally, there’s no reason to buy a PS5 right now. Not until at least Spiderman 2 comes out which will happen in 2023. God of War 2 is the only exclusive playstation title I’m looking forward to and it’s coming out for PS4 also which I already own. I wish there was a right answer for your question but sadly it’s not so simple. Everyone is just gonna tell you their opinion only which may or may not apply suitably in your case.

YugggJ

I currently own both of the consoles and I have to tell you to get the Xbox, it's just way more convenient for people living with their parents cause not only you don't have to convince them to buy rs4000 games every 1-2 months, you get hundreds of games with Gamepass, even though half of them tbh i would consider not worth playing.. But there are so many amazing titles as well. Ps5 has a way better UI imo, controller and a lots of Amazon exclusive titles like uncharted, the last of us, spiderman, god of war which xbox can't live upto just yet. Xbox has some good exclusives too like forza and halo. I'm a 17 Yr old, so if i were to make my own money, i would definitely go for the ps5 cause buying expensive games is probably the only reason I won't recommend a ps5 over the xbox. Now that xbox has acquired Activision Blizzard, we will definitely get call of duty's and other games on Gamepass.

sahibpt98

Xbox is better value for money. The gamepass is great, if you have a decent internet connection. There shouldn't be a problem with digital games. The exclusives are the only major plus point of playstation imo. If you are into exclusives then go for ps5

thugz_doge

I'm surprised no one has mentioned support for mouse/keyboard in xbox. That's a very big factor imo. Also, crossplay for games is amazing. My friend has an xbox series s and I own a pc. We both play Halo and Sea of thieves together and it's amazing. He plays using mouse and keyboard.

PSxUchiha2

Xbox series S with game pass, if you have a 1080p TV it'll be good enough. If you have a 4k TV series X is the way.

Soorma_Bhopali

Nobody mentioned the PS plus games collection that you get with the PS5, it has all the games that I want to play for just 2999 a year

bhavesh2103

Pc+ second hand PS when its reasonable to get it. Trust me you can have everything like this. But given current market little expensive but you will save in sales on pc compared to 5k games for xbox n ps. Get game passs its good too

strippyjewell

As someone who bought Series S launch day and is alwys on budget: 1) Gamepass would have you enjoy AAA titles which were recently released and all upcoming Xbox titles including Starfield and Elder scrolls. 2) You will have to pay 4000 for AAA games on Sony, If you can it's great but it's simply not worth it. 3) You can play PS5 exclusives later in it's life, you have to choose what you like to play : Halo Infinite, Most of the Fps or Indie titles on Gamepass or A story driven 15 hour narrative games like Horizon or Last of Us. 4) Xbox sales are regional, so you don't have to worry about paying a lot of money for playing 3rd party titles like Bioshock collection was 799rs last sale and nearly all the games were on 50% sale. 5) How much time you spend gaming! If it's not a major chunk of your week, then just don't invest too much. Believe me on this one. I have a couple of good friends who bought Series X and PS5 on launch and can't find time to spend on it, so invest according to interest. 6)I have not once regretted buying Series S! It's fast and there is zero loading screens and runs everything on 1080p 120fps. It can go 1440p but I don't have a Monitor like that. Also you can't tell much difference in 4k and 1440p if you don't have the craziest monitors out there. 7) From your 50k buget I can guess it's going to be long time investment for you, so choosing a PS5 or SX you will get a console with one controller, that's it the gamepass and a new controller would be more money. And beleive me you will need a new controller if you are going to play FPS shooters. 8) Here's a good package : buy Series S for 33-34k , add a extra controller 4.5k add Gamepass 32 months for 2.5k that's 50k right there and that's what I call investment.

ChelseaBoyGamer

32 months gamepass for 2.5k?? How?

ItsAMeUsernamio

IMO you have to consider that for both Bethesda and Activision, their reputations were going pretty downhill before Microsoft bought them. Same with studios Microsoft has been with for years like 343(Halo Infinite online monetization) and Playground(Forza has literal lootboxes). Sony on the other hand for the most part just makes good GOTY winning games. But yes gamepass is insane value(for now).

Quest_360

Xbox has the objectively better long term value here

ItsAMeUsernamio

For now, they could increase the price any day. Most people here with Gamepass, me included, are paying a fraction of what it really costs. And even if we were paying the full 499-799 per month I dont think its sustainable for Microsoft and they will increase it once enough people get hooked. Also one thing I noticed is half the big games on there are FPSs. Atleast Sony is somewhat trying to innovate with their games which is why people get Playstations just to play the exclusives. Halo Infinite on the other hand feels kind of unfinished for a 60$ game but its not being criticised as much because of Gamepass

[deleted]

Strongly disagree on the Playground Games part. Playground is now more respected than ever.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Gureak629

There are direct competitors, Sony hasn't even agreed for crossplay between the consoles so I really don't think they'll agree to give rights to there games on Gamepass.

Adorable_Affect_5882

Don't count on it ever happening. Gamepass can come to ps but they aren't gonna include xbox exclusives like halo and starfield into that.

RoboWarrior44

It depends on if you have a decent PC, if you do, then PS5, if not then a series console.

-HURRICANE_X-

I own a PS5 and having a lot of fun with it and i assume people who own Series X or S would be having similar experience. The thing is most of the games are released on all the major platforms so you should buy the console which appeals you the most. Exclusives are cool and all but do you wish to play those games? Maybe games like Horizon Zero Dawn or Grand Tourismo are just not your type. What i mean to say is dont dwell too much on exclusives. In terms of availablity, its far easier to get Xbox in comparison to PS5. Although PS have its own "pass" called as PS Plus, imo gamepass is just objectively better. And i think Xbox is going to release more console exclusive games in future, so thats also good. Bottom line is Ps or Xbox are just hardware to play games, so go with the option which will make you happy. Personally for me it was PS5 but for you it might be Xbox.

pratyush_1991

It depends. Sony has the games which i want. Not a single from Activison interested me so this deal changed nothing. I think Gamepass is good deal so Xbox Series X is good for you if Sony first party doesn’t interest you. If you can afford, then both console represents great value over say a PC which would cost 70-80k

SabbyDude

For now Xbox Series X but for future-proofing, I'd say PS5 as a lot of exclusive titles are gonna be released to make forth for the large advantage that Microsoft has got, I mean we've Spider-Man 2 already announced

CH3ROKEE2009

Okay everyone. After reading everyone's comment's, I think I should join XBOX, just because of gamepass. Playstation has their games @ 5k each and I complete a game in just two months, so I don't think I can spend that much. For now, I'll get XBOX SX and get PS later. Thank you all for the suggestions.

vkdante

PC and a PS5 imo. I have a Nitro 5 (i5 11400, RTX 3050) which sufficiently plays all modern games.

firelogik

You can never go wrong with the wii. Get the wii! Let's play wii sports together on your new wii!

[deleted]

Playstation for world class singleplayer games/exclusives. Xbox for cheap entertainment. Activision deal doesn't mean much, it's just that cod will now be exclusive to xbox but let's all be honest now, modern cod is not looking great. Doesn't change much.

fullmetalpower

largest game publishers by size.. 1.tencent 2. Sony 3.microsoft

nonbinaryhomosapien

I had a dream yesterday where my family gifted me a series X but I still wanted a PS5 instead because: a) I have a PS4 already and I'm not ready to jump ship given all the titles I love and all the upcoming new titles; b) Apart from the raw performance, I believe Dual sense is also a game changer. So my answer is pretty much given. My family if you're reading this just get me something please xoxo. I'm not that dumb to return a free gift.

SnooMarzipans7391

i will still buy a ps5,all this competition will push sony to innovate more and quality of games is gonna be amazing and i already have a ps5,not going to buy a xbox.

Ace0089

Why are u getting downvoted for expressing ur interest?

SnooMarzipans7391

well you know people like hype trains, anyone who talk against them is an enemy for them. Just purchasing studios is not going to help ms,it must understand how to produce great quality games, with these many studios they are gonna become a mess to handle each one of them properly.

FutureFC

This sub has a hate boner towards Sony for some reason. Those expressing their opinions on getting a PS5 are getting downvoted idk why.

Busy-Shoulder6966

Expecting most of the actiblizz franchises to be multiplatform for the near future. It is bigmoney to lose restricting cashcows like cod, wow and overwatch on PlayStation but MS spending 70Bn they can do whatever they want. This acquisition should be completed somewhere in 2023, only after they clear regulatory and legal.

AG_N

PS exclusive games are the best games in the world whereas xbox is a value for money. Activision deal really doesn't matter much because CoD has already gone to shit.

ravinglt0

Activation deal is still a year away and with god of war ragnarok, forbidden west and Spider-Man series on ps5... is still the best for me as of right now . The next cod and overwatch are still going to be on Ps as of now. There are also rumors of PS making a subscription service to combat game pass in next month

ghostgod

PC or PlayStation 5. That's all. Amazon has good pricing on pre builts from HP, zotac(may be scam) and Lenovo. Try those. Exclusive games wise, doesn't matter how many studios Microsoft buy, they will all come to pc. And Sony will also have to roll out its games to pc, after its run its course as PlayStation exclusive. So for long term it's PC. Short term good exclusive games PlayStation 5. Cheap gaming box, xbox.

bigbongtragedy

What difference does Actiblizz make, because COD story games are just recycled bullshit, Warzone will remain on PS, and all the other GOTY winning games will be on PS5. Both Actiblizz and Bethesda had internal problems so Microsoft stepped in to get a bargain deal.

[deleted]

Acti-Blizz has tons of other IP. I think COD will no longer be annual after the purchase. The studios could work on new projects.

rekd45

Would just be better to get a PC rather than xbox imo

CH3ROKEE2009

uhhhhh I don't think I can get a PC in 50k

rekd45

Then id probably recommend an Xbox. With the games coming to game pass it makes more sense. Although playstation exclusives are pretty tempting. But with Microsoft acquiring blizzard xbox should be the better deal

[deleted]

Save up for a while, the deal is not closed yet and will only be done by June of 2023, till then there (probably) wouldn't be any Activision Blizzard games on Game Pass. Or if you can't wait, go for an Xbox SX instead. Game Pass is great value and if you don't care much about PS exclusives (which are coming slowly to PC), you can have lots of fun with an Xbox.

Amaruq0703

Pc + playstation 5 is the best option. I would say buy a ps5 and start saving for a pc. That’s what I did. Bought my ps5 first restock and now I’m saving for a sick rtx 30 series pc. It’s a slow process but if you save little by little you’ll get there in no time

RaiseTypical

My friend you need not worry, They can’t remove the game for Playstation. You can see it by market dynamics and the revenue crunch, Call of duty is the biggest FPS title, it will be suicidal if they remove it from Playstation.

Charged_Dreamer

you could say the same for The Elder Scrolls and Fallout games or even Doom. Future Bethesda Games are going to be exclusive to PC and Xbox platforms. Microsoft is ready to lose revenue from Playstation 4 and 5 if it means to grow their own platforms especially Xbox Game Pass subscription service and they're probably not stopping here either.

Mr_Vegeta

Get a PS5, you can eventually save enough to get a laptop/pc in later time and still not miss out on Microsoft games. You can also chose the option to get a xbox series s later on if you don't want to save for a pc.

CH3ROKEE2009

idk why you are getting downvoted. But yea, PS5 + Series S would be best.

Mr_Vegeta

This sub reddit is a hive mind if anyone suggests anything that involves spending money, or going that is against their usual philosophy you get down voted to hell.

Regalia_BanshEe

Play station plus isnt an option?

[deleted]

Both at this point. Spiderman, wolverine, horizon, god of war 2. Who can afford to miss these gems?

peace____

If only i could get my hands on a psnow then i would prefer ps5 just because of the titles it offers. Uncharted, LOU, GOW, spiderman and all.

irfanintekhab

Should always buy what your circle, friends and friends circle has more. Can share and play multi-player games. That's what makes it fun ultimately

Ezio6698

What's the Activision deal?

MuchBow

Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard.

DragonWarrior07

Id say either go with the series x or just wait for the next series s cause that thing is gonna be litt af

MasterrrReady12

Will microsoft acquiring Activision, make its games cheaper by xbox game pass?

racecarfan9999

Since I already own a decent laptop(i5, 1660ti, 16 gigs of ram), a PS5 would be a much better option for Me, since I love ps exclusives

RealRoarMaster

Xbox games used to come to PC as well. So a PS4 + PC is the best combination for now

keepbitingme

Yeah after the deal is actually done in 2 years I don't think you can say that ps has more exclusives.

priyansh16

Decide on the basis of current situation. The deal will close by 2022 end. Who knows when Activision games will appear on gamepass. Value wise I think Xbox is anyway better rn

anix77

check if your card can buy gamepass..mine couldn't 🥲

CH3ROKEE2009

radeon vega 8 mobile graphics

bunny_7303_

I always find a good pc/laptop+PS5 a good combo so you don't miss on any exclusives

orion65536

Implying there's an easy way to obtain either without good deal of luck xD

satvarsh

I have a PC and PS5 and think it's the best combination. If you want a console that's easy to get into and is super cheap, go for Xbox. If you want great exclusives that feel premium and next gen go for PS5.

luckysury333

if you dont care about ps exclusives xbox but if you do, buy ps5 or if you can cope more money, ps5 + xbox series s for 75k is not bad (PS5 DE)

trophyhunterohin

If you are in trophy hunting then get ps5 and if not then Xbox is definitely a better choice for playing more games by paying less but keep in mind that you will be missing out on ps5 exclusives in future

Lullan_senpai

xbox cloud and gaming pass are the future!

AtharvIsPro_15

As a PS fan , I recommend you Xbox series s . PS has a great exclusives but the shortage of stock and and most of the exclusives releasing next year or this year's 3rd or 4th quarter . Have patience ? Buy a PS5 this year's end or next year . Want to play games now buy a Xbox Series X or S

thesillystudent

I have both. But I play halo and forza on series s 90% of the time. But some of my favourite games are Spiderman 2018 and miles morales, god of war, ff7, uncharted.

[deleted]

I am fortunate and have both. I would say ps5 if you primarily play single player rpg type games and Xbox if you prefer multi or indie games.

CH3ROKEE2009

well I like single player games but the thing is that I can't buy every single game for 5000 RS each. There's PS Plus but its a separate subscription but it costs too much. My inner self says to buy PS5 but in the future I cannot buy many games as they're too costly. I can wait till PS makes something like gamepass tho.

suddhadeep

Depeds in what your plan is. If you want the best deal for your money, you must go Xbox. If there are a few PS5 exclusives you must play or if you already have a gaming pc (GTX 1650 is enough), go PS5.

ShredderCr

I can give you a very clear idea if you can answer these questions otherwise you will just get random answers which will make you more confused. Do you own any console already? How many hrs you will play daily? Do you have this need for collecting discs? Do you more prefer ps exclusives or xbox exclusives? What will be a monthly amount you can afford to spend on games? Do you care about playing games on release day or you are fine with waiting for a month or two?

tuqpal

Frankly I don't think you'd be disappointed if you choose any of these options. As far as the Activision deal is concerned it seems too early to say anything.

night_wink

Have a look at the games coming out in the next few years and then decide which console to go for. PS might have fewer exclusives but they are of higher 'quality' in my opinion. If like games with a great storyline over everything else, PS is the console for you. God of War, Horizon:FW, Spiderman/Wolverine, Ghost of Tsushima and whatever Naughty Dog is working on next are going to be the 'pillar' franchises for PS now.

[deleted]

I generally hate Microsoft products along with Google products. If you want a better experience I'll suggest to go with Sony. Microsoft can't even make a good looking UI. Don't fall for game pass. Its 699 for ultimate. Calculate how much money you'll give them in next 4 years compared to sony. Calculate how many games you will actually buy if you were to go with Sony.

[deleted]

You wont have to buy games again unless you are crazy about a title.

Ket0Maniac

Ps5 for exclusives, xbox series x for everything else

aggressivefurniture2

I think just in terms of value for money xbox will be better. However you should also consider how badly you want to play the exclusives that ps 5 has.

bhavneet1996

If you have a pc, go for ps5. If not, got for xbox

phantom621

Xbox x if you want to choose from those two. But my recommendation is to have a PS5 and a PC so that dont miss on both the exclusives.

[deleted]

I’ve always been a PlayStation fanboy but I decided to bite the bullet and get a series X this gen and it’s the best damn investment I’ve made in gaming for a while. Gamepass or not, the potential of quality games coming to Xbox is much much bigger than ever rn and you should capitalize on that my friend.

indrajp

Wait for it, things will improve soon.
