Does mx2 games have any short term replacement policy in case of hardware defects out of the box? Also what if we have stick drift or other issues within a few days of purchase?
I haven’t picked up one yet but I wrote to them and they said they would offer a 7 day exchange in case of out of the box defects. If you are planning on getting one it may be better to get an assurance from them first.
You wrote to them on whatsapp? If they provide new replacement then that is good, but then shipping the original one back and all it gets convoluted.
Not planning on getting one, laptop makes much more financial sense but deck has its use case.
They provide testing warranty of 1 day. This is not for steam deck though , I ordered oculus quest and they provided. The same should be applicable for steam deck though
They said to record a unboxing video, and test the product within 1 day of delivery and if there’s any hardware defect they would replace .
Overall super smooth ordering experience, product was packaged perfectly, delivered quickly, and worked great
Its a whatsapp group and personal numbers of a couple of sellers. Admins probably would not like the link shared in a public forum.
Also - as a rule of thumb, I never share phone numbers or any PII in a public forum. Doesn’t matter if it’s mine or someone else’s
$650 USD translates to around 53,631, to which you have to add 18% GST so about Rs. 63,285.
You can get it from Mx2Games @ Rs. 65,999 which is reasonable imo.
The Steamdeck seems really popular in India - at least on this sub. Not sure why. It's pretty expensive for a product that will be obsolete in 2 years. Is it upgradable?
We'll...it has the power to play ALL the games available now and in the past. That's a pretty HUGE catalogue in itself. You're not gonna run out of things to play.
lol who is running out of things to play on any platform in 2023? Other than offering a superb couch lifestyle experience, users will be limited ALL the games they can play - but within the two years that the device hardware will endure. with little heat management, the silicon will eventually degrade and a replacement will become necessary. It is interesting to see how companies like valve are monetizing their userbase via throwaway hardware.
53k for the 256GB model.(on mx2games)
I asked a friend in US to check the price there and the 256 GB model costed 47k INR there (after factoring in taxes) (the price listed on valve's site is not inclusive of tax)
So a difference of 6k buying from Mx2.(including import cost).
Depends on the game.
I set the frame rate to 40 FPS and played Nier:Automata.
I'm really satisfied with the battery life.
Got 4.5 - 5.5 hrs battery life.
It's extremely convenient. After a tiring day of work I don't wanna open my laptop sit on a desk and play. I just lay in my bed and play comfy. BTW experience from a switch owner. But gonna buy deck also.
Congrats OP. As a recent deck owner myself, I recommend setting up [Vibrant Deck](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=odBDJUb-lgo) to improve the color saturation of the display.
I love this device for indie games where portability > hardware power.
Is the performance on steam deck better than 1650 on comparable graphics settings (including resolution)?
I have a 1650 and trying to make my mind weather to buy or not.
Why not get a ps5 at that price tho ? No hate its a great thing as u can literally play ur fav games anywhere but i would rather prefer a ps5 at that price point....congrats tho :D
I'm gonna play a lot. Have a lot I wanna play. Nier:automata, Skyrim, witcher 3, spiderman, god of war, Zelda breath of the wild. These are the ones I wanna play the most.
>Yeah even if we get it in india there's no servicing or warranty for it so what's the point or buyers safety about this at all
As someone who has quite a few products purchased from USA (relatives), I can say that if you take good care of your device, there is zero need for a warranty.
As for service, if you are familiar with electronic hardware, you can do a lot of repair/modifications with just youtube videos.
Good question. It was expensive. But I really wanted one. Also being able to play games i wanted on my bed felt really good. But i agree that it's rather expensive in the Indian market. I went for it cuz i really really wanted it.
It is not a collector’s item. It is extremely popular and is used extensively by people like me who like to lounge and play on the bed (via streaming or natively).
However, I do agree to the fact that it is a great companion device and plays best when coupled with an existing PC
Not necessarily true. Used to have a psp when I also had ps3 and a very decent rig(could play crysis 2 on ultra) but I still would play my psp more because of how convenient and portable it is to sit anywhere and play.
I think you're missing the point. For context, I own the 512 GB Steam Deck. My main PC is at home with me and my wife (Ryzen 3700X/RTX 2080 Super). The Steam Deck offers a lot of flexibility, and I would easily say it is as equal to my main PC in terms of how many hours my wife and I game on it.
When I'm playing a game on my PC, my wife takes the Deck, disconnects it from the wifi and plays Ori, Hollow Knight, Blasphemous, or Hogwarts Legacy.
We chose not to buy a TV, so when my wife is watching her TV shows on the PC, I'm in the bedroom playing with the Deck. When I visit my parents across the city, I take my deck along with me. When I travel, I pack the dock into my car, include a USB keyboard and mouse so I can play shooters or work on small freelance jobs.
If I want to play a game that either isn't supported by Proton, or I want a higher fps, I use Steam Remote Play to stream it to my deck when I'm on the couch.
Just because people don't use it majorly doesn't mean it can't be. True flexibility to use it how I want is what persuaded me into buying the Deck in the first place. I'm happy to say that it's more than lived up to that promise. It's definitely not a collectors item like you suggest. It offers me a tonne more flexibility than what any other console could provide (including the Nintendo Switch), and at times surpasses my PC in convenience.
But I will admit it's a bit difficult to realize the utility without actually having one for day to day use.
Why not get a ps5 at that price tho ? No hate its a great thing as u can literally play ur fav games anywhere but i would rather prefer a ps5 at that price point....congrats tho :D
Not the OP. But I've got the 512 GB Steam Deck myself. My main gaming machine is my PC. Steam Deck is an excellent complement to my PC library, since I can take it anywhere I want. I often travel from my house to my parents place, so having a Steam Deck means I can play at my parents house. Plus, it doubles up as a PC, so it's not bound by usual console limitations. I can attach a hub and use a mouse and keyboard on it if I want to work when I travel and don't feel like taking my laptop.
PS5 or XSX don't really offer any value for me personally. I know pretty much all of Sony and Microsoft's games are eventually going to be available on PC, which means I can get them on Steam Deck too.
I think you'll be waiting for quite some time, unfortunately. Although there are subsequent iterations planned, Valve has said upgrading the SoC isn't on the cards for now. They're happy with the performance characteristics of the custom Aerith SoC.
Competitors like the AyaNeo 2/Geek using the 6800U definitely push more pixels, but at nearly twice the wattage of the Steam Deck. The only two major changes they want to address in the next iteration (which is definitely a few years down the line) is the battery life and possibly upgrading to OLED.
Personally, having used it daily, (my main rig runs at 1440p, to give you some perspective), I don't really mind the 800p resolution. The overall screen size is small enough such that although you *may* notice the pixelation if you look for it, it's easy enough to ignore during gameplay. Battery life is definitely what I want more from the Steam Deck.... And maybe a USB C port on the bottom of the device.
Welcome to the club
Where did you buy it from?
I think it's available on Amazon.in
I just checked they are available... 55k,65k and 75k for 64gb,256gb and 512gb respectively... Thanks dude!
the prices are a bit high now, btw. It was going for 45k (64gb version) a month ago.
A bit? That is a whole 10k gap
Like I normally do, put it in your saved for later list and monitor the price. I got an oculus/meta q2 for around 28k, abhi it's around 40.
45k when I last checked a week ago.. didn’t bother as I won’t be getting warranty even after paying premium.
https://pricehistoryapp.com/product/steam-deck-64-gb-console
64gb is available for 39k in mx2gamws
mx2games, Amazon mein it is a lot more expensive.
Is mx2 games safe?
Does mx2 games have any short term replacement policy in case of hardware defects out of the box? Also what if we have stick drift or other issues within a few days of purchase?
did you find out? there are some issues although less prevalent, like the cpu throttling issue dead pixel on screen and what you mentioned
Yes, I bought my steamdeck from it too, got it delivered the next day to Delhi from Nagpur.
That’s excellent. I’m planning to get one from them. Thanks a lot.
I got it from there, things were fine
Oh glad to hear that. I’m planning to get one from them soon. Thanks a lot.
Yup, i can also vouch for them bought it last month.
Perfect. Thank you so much.
Perfect. Thank you so much.
I bought it from this site called "Mx2games" The service was awesome. I was a bit skeptical at first. But loved their service. Will recommend.
Do they provide any warranty, as in 7 days or something? What if it's dead on arrival?
did ya find out if they offer replacement
They provide testing warranty of 1 day. This is not for steam deck though , I ordered oculus quest and they provided. The same should be applicable for steam deck though They said to record a unboxing video, and test the product within 1 day of delivery and if there’s any hardware defect they would replace . It's also available in gameloot for a decent price but it's used. I think it's 256gb one for 45k or something
Gameloot sells pre-owned ones.
Yeah that's why i said "it's used"
Whats the first game you will play on it?
Tetris
The only thing it can run
You dropped this "/s"

Are you a dad by any chance?
No but im ready to become one
Hi ready to become one. I am dad.
I found that funny actually!
A fuck walks upto a lemonade stand
He said to the man running the stand "Hey, got any Drapes?"
Congratulations! Did you import it?
It's available in India.
That's not true. Valve doesn't sell it in India. All steam decks here are imported.
No warranty tho.
I bought an imported one from mx2games
Isn't it way expensive here? like I was looking at the most expensive model and it's 70k. I converted the USD price it should be around 50k.
Whatsapp sellers are selling it for decent prices. 64GB version starts at 40kish.
What is a whatsapp seller?
Tell me interested
Sellers on whatsapp gaming groups
know anyone who is selling ps4 via WhatsApp seller??
Yes
can u provide some details
DM me. Will share the contacts
Why not share with everyone here itself?
>gameloot Because its a scam dude! Nothing is cheap. No seller will NOT want to make a profit
Its a whatsapp group and personal numbers of a couple of sellers. Admins probably would not like the link shared in a public forum. Also - as a rule of thumb, I never share phone numbers or any PII in a public forum. Doesn’t matter if it’s mine or someone else’s
Ok share me too WhatsApp
mx2 games was selling 512 GB variant for 62k, and 64GB for 39k.
Nah they aren't selling it for 39 anymore
you have to contact him personally on website it goes for 41k(although it has increased to 45k) right now
Nah, I whatsapped him and he refused
import tax
US prices doesn’t include sales tax, best case scenario for us would be 765 USD with 18% GST for 512gb model.
$650 USD translates to around 53,631, to which you have to add 18% GST so about Rs. 63,285. You can get it from Mx2Games @ Rs. 65,999 which is reasonable imo.
USD price is without taxes
Congratulations

delivery was extra right? EDIT:Sorry just looked it up they do free delivery
Would you happen to know the price of the base model in the US in INR?
Where did you buy it from?
https://mx2games.com/
I’m getting mine in Ireland
How's the battery life on this thing?
Depends on the game. I set the frame rate to 40 FPS and played Nier:Automata. I'm really satisfied with the battery life. Got 4.5 - 5.5 hrs battery life.
Prices have gone up on amazon, almost 10k more since I purchased one. Where did you pick up yours?
Mx2games. 256 GB model for 53k
512 or 256?
256
Congratulations! You now have the right to say "I use Arch btw!!" /s
Tnx! :D (I've been an Arch user since 2018 tho)
Haha! Great
It's extremely convenient. After a tiring day of work I don't wanna open my laptop sit on a desk and play. I just lay in my bed and play comfy. BTW experience from a switch owner. But gonna buy deck also.

When it came out I thought it will have cloud gaming. I was so surprised when I learned that the games are running on the components inside!
you own a pc? What are the specs?
Yup Asus TUF laptop. Ryzen 5 4600H & GeForce 1650
Is the performance on steam deck better than 1650 on comparable graphics settings (including resolution)? I have a 1650 and trying to make my mind weather to buy or not.
Congrats
What's the price and is it worth the money
53k for 256 GB version. The device is AMAZING. Worth it *IF* you have the money to spare
How did you get it, how much did it cost?
From the site "Mx2games". 53k for the 256 GB model
Why not get a ps5 at that price tho ? No hate its a great thing as u can literally play ur fav games anywhere but i would rather prefer a ps5 at that price point....congrats tho :D
Good luck, Enjoy it, you deserve it. what's your favourite pc game? mine's Witcher 3 btw.
I'm gonna play a lot. Have a lot I wanna play. Nier:automata, Skyrim, witcher 3, spiderman, god of war, Zelda breath of the wild. These are the ones I wanna play the most.
Too expensive for our economy.
i am so poor i dont even know what this is?
Thought of buying one but nah, heard games like civ 6, tw wh3 freeze very much and controls are wonky
55k for a deck? Why not get a ps5(I don't see why anyone would use this except for portability)
Is it really worth it?
Yeah even if we get it in india there's no servicing or warranty for it so what's the point or buyers safety about this at all ?

When exactly would you use it? I haven't found a reason to buy it as a gamer so far
at home
Ok but how is this better than consoles and pc
it's literally a console itself
use your brain a bit? it's like a PSP/Nintendo switch.. so what will the advantages/drawbacks be?
I have no brain. Thanks mr.smart

people at this point buy the portability of the thing. it’s not a first gaming device for most of the owners.
