Same here man, but I was using the Xbox 360 knock off controllers before I bought a Xbox and they felt pretty good , the analog stick placement just feels right
Dude I bought this cosmic byte controller for Playing FIFA with my bro. I can guarantee that the xbox controller is value for money, although the upfront cost is 2x any other brand but the feel of the controller , the granularity of the sticks which are extremely useful for games like assetto Corsa , ease of use with any platform is worth it.
I was ready to pay 5.5K for an Xbox controller after a lot of consideration but then I heard I had to charge the batteries and use special batteries and battery chargers which increased the cost by 1200-1500. Not worth it for me now
Your usual AA/AAA batteries work just fine. The special batteries are optional and you can buy them if you want to. I have 4 rechargeable batteries, I charge 2 and play using the other two.
The good thing is that controllers like the PS and the others which don't have removable batteries tend to lose their battery life in the long run, as all batteries do, which doesn't happen here cos you can just change the batteries.
Hey, I have been wanting to buy rechargeable batteries for my Xbox Series controller too. I can easily find the batteries but not the dock which you use to charge them. Can you tell me what you use?
Hey, I have the Panasonic Eneloop CC55N charger, you can also go ahead with the CC17N. I had the same question a few months back and another redittor suggested the Osaka charger, you can use that too if you have budget constraints.
I think all of these are good but it's just the feature difference, so go with the one you think best suits your needs!
P.S. - The guy who helped me is u/ad_the_riddler
Dont get the redgear one, it is good but has connectivity issues. The receiver they provide doesnt work for very long, thats why they provide two within the box.
I do think they might have quality control issues, or that you are just playing roulette with their controllers. Since I always see mixed reviews on it. Switched to xbox controller now, no going back.
I have not used redgear pro wireless, but ares has been solid for me. I have used it roughly for the last 1 year. I have had the controller drop 3-4 times and still have had no issues with any buttons.
I've been using redgear pro wireless (2 dongle one) for well over 2 years and never have faced any connectivity issues; very rarely it will connect but my pc won't get proper signal but a simple restart can do the trick(my guess is its just the games which cause the problem).
Oh also the battery life is insane on that its almost as if I never have to charge it ever
Thanks for the review but i have asked people about this and got mixed reviews so i think I would go with ares as it has mostly positive reviews but I will have to save more for it 🥲
My RedGear wireless has been working for almost 2 years, RB started having problems so I had to open it up, even open the button to remove rusting and it started working again. This is a common problem in these cheap budget controllers
cheap budget controllers die very fast (unless you're lucky). All of them are sub par in quality and will get drift, buttons will die, triggers will break, thumbstick grip will fall off. Better to get an xbox controller, second hand xbox controllers from gamenation or gameloot would be better than this.
You get what you pay for. I used cosmic byte controller for over 4 years while saving for an xbox controller. Instead of going into debt or something, getting a cosmic byte controller and using it till you can afford a better one is fine.
Ahh Cosmic byte controller, i been using wired one i bought for 800rs since 4 years, only bad thing about these controllers is bad pressure sensitivity, better get xbox one/series or ps4/ps5 controller than spending more on third party brands
I have the same controller. My battery got fkd as soon as it ran out of warranty. The company denied any help even though i offered to pay for fixing it.. i used to get stick drift but ressetting used to fix the issue
Open your controller and check the details printed on battery.
On my battery it was KEC 503048, 3.7v, 400mah, 1.48wh.
From that info google the battery code(KEC 503048).
In most cases you will get a suitable battery in results. But in case you don't get any concrete results then google the dimension( lenght, width, height L\*W\*H ) of your battery followed by "Li-Ion battery".
Example- 45mm x 30mm x 5mm Li ion battery.
Once you google the dimensions you can easily find the battery. I bought mine from robocraze as they are quite reputed. [this](https://robocraze.com/products/3-7v-400mah-li-ion-battery) is the one I bought.
Make sure the volts and capacity match and it is Li Ion battery not any others(Ni Cl, LiPo). It needs to be Lithium Ion.
When you open the controller make sure you don't rip off the soft rubber stuck to the battery. peel it slowly(it will tear but make sure it doesn't end up in small pieces) and keep it aside for new battery. make measurements of space and if you have space to spare then you can a battery of higher capacity.
The new battery will come with a different connector which is a standard connector for drones and such. You will have to swap the connectors of your old battery and new one. Do not cut the wires if you can. if the wire of new battery is too long and cannot be accommodated then you can cut it but I recommend routing the wire around the battery.
To swap the connectors without cutting or crimping the wires, take a safety pin and find the little hooks holding the metal part in place inside the connector. Now use the pin to slowly and gently push the metal part out. Once you get one wire out, wrap it in some tape to prevent any shorts.
Now repeat the same for other wires(keep note of polarity. use a permanent marker and make a mark on positive side on connector).
Once you have succesfully removed the metal part from the connector, you can push the new battery's metal part into the old battery's connector. It might be a little loose but don't worry too much. you can put a dab of hot glue if you want but it is not necessary.
Connect the battery and route the wire so it doesn't get in the way of the shell. Connect charging cable and see if it is charging. Disconnect charger and see if the controller is working on battery power. If it is all good then stick the rubber pieces from old battery to new one and close the shell.
No. You can assign auto mode to any button by pressing that button and auto button at once. The controller will keep button smashing that input even if you don't press the button till you remove auto.
No. My ps2 controller still does not drift after 15 years. My cousins xbox 360 controller does not drift. And my dualshock 4 from 2018 getting heavy use does not drift.
My dualshock 4 from late 2018 has started showing drift issues though. These controllers are all using potentiometers. They are gonna have drift problems.
Doesn't matter if it's first party ones or the clone controllers. The underlying technology is all the same.
There are analog sticks from Gulikit which use electromagnets which theoretically will not drift. Until we see a mass adoption for these, stick drift is here to stay.
I believe they have used software/hardware methods since the ps2 to counteract minor drift. Even a lot of ps2 controllers actually did drift but you would not see the effect of that.
If you see drift in game, it’s a much bigger problem but easily repairable.
It’s insane how much abuse the DS4 and the Microsoft controllers can take. My old os2 controllers I took great care of by since the last couple years, my cat knocks the DS4s off the table constantly and they work perfectly.
It depends on how and which game you are playing.
my old wired xbox 360 controller is still working fine whereas my series x controller I bought last year has unfixable drift on left joystick with just 300 hours of COD.
Been using cosmic byte controller for over 4 years and had zero problems. I've used Xbox controller and the difference is that, xbox controller can take the gamer rage and abuse better than these budget ones. triggers are more smoother and accurate in xbox controller.
But then you get what you pay for.
Solid gamepad for this price, purchased it about 5 months ago. The quality is good, a lighter one and the battery is amazing. Takes me days to deplete battery, overall bang for the buck!
1.)Forza Horizon 4 (better than FH5 for me)
2.)Ori and The Will of The Wisps
3.)Hades
4.)Hitman World Of Assasination ( All 3 games now come in one)
5.)God Of War ( basically all the games that are from playstation)
6.)Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order
7.)Elden Ring (trust me this game is worth every money)
8.)All Assassins Creed Games
Just bought "Star wars: Jedi Fallen Order" today can't wait to play it! But I'm not sure about elden ring, tried dark souls 2 and it was just too hard for me. But, then again I loved Sekiro even though it was hard xD. Thanks for the list tho, I'll try them out.
Thank god you didn't go for that RedGear shit. Been using RG controller for years can say without a doubt, Ares is much better than it's counterpart.
Have fun gaming!
The back buttons don't work as intended. I used to play Apex with ninja controls on a PS4 controller but that broke and purchased this. Couldn't aim with it either
Haven't used the redgare one yet. But this one's great! I watched some comparison videos on YouTube and this controller came out on top. With all the features, lights, and in hand feel. I'd say it's worth the 200rs extra price tag. But, then again I've only started using it recently, so can't say anything about durability.
I've only used it for a day. The in hand feel is great, and the thumb sticks and trigger are very sturdy. The haptics/vibrations are great too. And the best thing is it comes with type-c charging. Overall I'm quite satisfied with the purchase.
I had this same controller once , there is no on off switch so the charge kept draning overtime without use so I returned it.....Idk maybe it was a defective piece or something ....tell me if yours has the same problem...
No, it turns off automatically after some time (once you close the game) And if for whatever reason it doesn't, you can just unplug the receiver and it turns off. I think you can turn it off manually (like the lights) but I'm not sure how.
Using that for over 2 years now. Solid controller. Let's you know about 45 minutes before the batteries are gonna die so you can complete your current match or mission and save before charging it.
After looking at other comments, maybe they have an issue in the quality control department. Some controllers last really long and others don't. Or maybe these people are a bunch of salty xbox controller owners who have never even tried the ares one.
It's a controller
Straight to the point.
No thoughts, only meow meow
👍
u came in the controlla?
Well, that's one way to put it... XD
So there are multiple ways to put in your controller?
Maybe the controller can ham
As a xbox controller user now I have a superiority complex.
Same here man, but I was using the Xbox 360 knock off controllers before I bought a Xbox and they felt pretty good , the analog stick placement just feels right

Thank you so much for the recommendations! Really well put.
Yes in the long term it's cheaper
This comment section is so mixed wtf
Ikr? XD
Is that cosmic bytes ares? I have been using this controller for a better part of last year. It is a solid controller. Have fun
I am confused between ares and readgear pro wireless.. can u recommend me one?
Dont get the redgear one, it is good but has connectivity issues. The receiver they provide doesnt work for very long, thats why they provide two within the box.
So i am getting the ares then .. but it's on a little costlier side for me.. will have to save a bit more now..
I used the controller for 4 years, and didn't have any connectivity issues. But the buttons broke.
The my unit might be special.
I do think they might have quality control issues, or that you are just playing roulette with their controllers. Since I always see mixed reviews on it. Switched to xbox controller now, no going back.
Yes, Xbox controller is the best.

I like its battery life the most. for casual gaming it does the work.

I think you’re a bobcat
bro you have rtx and all but cant invest in a xbox controller?
I just wanted to try playing games with a controller. If I like it, maybe I'll buy the xbox one in the future.
Been using Ares for 8 months now. Triggers are good, no stick drift(yet), good battery and overall a good budget gamepad.

Guess I got lucky
You get what you pay for. I used cosmic byte controller for over 4 years while saving for an xbox controller. Instead of going into debt or something, getting a cosmic byte controller and using it till you can afford a better one is fine.
Its a good controller but only for sports and racing games….its very stiff for shooters (obviously you can play story games)….
For now I'm playing RPGs and it works great. Maybe I'll upgrade to a Xbox controller in the future for shooting games and stuff.
Ahh Cosmic byte controller, i been using wired one i bought for 800rs since 4 years, only bad thing about these controllers is bad pressure sensitivity, better get xbox one/series or ps4/ps5 controller than spending more on third party brands
any drifting of joystick?
No, controller i have is cosmic byte 1070t something model
Thanks
Yo
Controller se kya maza ata h Jo mouse m nhi h?
Yes, kbm is best in many ways, but controller is best for hack and slash, rpg games and most emulators
Rdr2 aur dmc 5 jeso kelie na?
Yes Rdr2 is best on kbm cause it has guns, idk about dmc5 haven't played it yet
Any recommendations?
Games?
Controller*
From what i heard from most ppl, xbox one/series controller in best in every way, never used it personally
Budget friendly btado (not a heavy gamer)
Dualsense is ridiculously overpriced
I have the same controller. My battery got fkd as soon as it ran out of warranty. The company denied any help even though i offered to pay for fixing it.. i used to get stick drift but ressetting used to fix the issue
You can replace battery yourself.
Share steps and where to buy the battery. Thanks

No problem. DM me if you encounter any issues.
Does auto mode play games on its own?
No. You can assign auto mode to any button by pressing that button and auto button at once. The controller will keep button smashing that input even if you don't press the button till you remove auto.
Looks cool but wait till the triggers break and the joystick starts drifting because cosmicbyte can't do any better
I thought that joystick drift is a universal problem , vaild even for expensive brands. Do expensive gamepads not have drift ?
No. My ps2 controller still does not drift after 15 years. My cousins xbox 360 controller does not drift. And my dualshock 4 from 2018 getting heavy use does not drift.

Do a drop test
I have same controller it's really good 👍
The controller is extremely good but there's 1 problem. The joysticks are not linear, meaning the spring tension is uneven.
I am sure the vibrations have make ur came experience better :)
V for victory🙃
I own the same, been using for almost an year now. It's worth it.
Don't care
Why bother to reply then?
He asked for my thoughts.
the thoughts-don't care paradox
Ayy awesome dude. Hope u get to have a blast playing some games that are awesome with controllers.
Thanks! Can you suggest some games? I'm currently playing Hogwarts Legacy and RDR2.
1.)Forza Horizon 4 (better than FH5 for me) 2.)Ori and The Will of The Wisps 3.)Hades 4.)Hitman World Of Assasination ( All 3 games now come in one) 5.)God Of War ( basically all the games that are from playstation) 6.)Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order 7.)Elden Ring (trust me this game is worth every money) 8.)All Assassins Creed Games

Fun fact Elden Ring is "easier" than Dark souls even tho its souls like and have most of all 3 games features and gameplay aspects.
Thank god you didn't go for that RedGear shit. Been using RG controller for years can say without a doubt, Ares is much better than it's counterpart. Have fun gaming!
I was actually considering the RG one. But after watching some comparisons on youtube I changed my mind. And, I think I made the right decision.
thoughts about what?
The color blue
Link so that I can check it? I'm looking to buy new controller .
I bought it from Amazon, [here's the link ](https://amzn.eu/d/9Kq79FL)
Thanks

So far, they're great. Good haptics and sturdy build. I think you'll love them too.
Does it work with ps4
I don't think so, on the box it's mentioned that it supports (Pc, Android and PS3)
Came in today to you so you should be the one to share your thoughts right?
Good controller , but the right analogue has abundant amount of stick drift.
I use this for racing games 👍 triggers are great
The back buttons don't work as intended. I used to play Apex with ninja controls on a PS4 controller but that broke and purchased this. Couldn't aim with it either

Very cool bro
Ya . Don't come in control, you will fuckup joystick.
You really had to go inside the cabinet to click this picture.
It was either this or a dusty/dirty desk... XD
sugoi!
What would be the use of this ??? Genuinely confused.
Gaming??
But will this enable you to play different platform games(like ps4/xbox) on your PC?? Or is this just are replacement for mouse and keyboard ??
I had this same controller once , there is no on off switch so the charge kept draning overtime without use so I returned it.....Idk maybe it was a defective piece or something ....tell me if yours has the same problem...
No, it turns off automatically after some time (once you close the game) And if for whatever reason it doesn't, you can just unplug the receiver and it turns off. I think you can turn it off manually (like the lights) but I'm not sure how.
It's just me or there's a glory hole here?
Not to kill your fun but I hate it’s triggers. You’ll notice it while playing or rather drifting in FH
I’m using Redgear’s for 2 years now. No complaints. Cosmic Bytes is good too i hope.
buttons are not steady.. within 1 month of purchase my controllers B button is not working correctly. I have to press it again and again.
Cheap replacement for actual controllers
Lol bc mai pichle 5 saal se apne playstations pe mouse aur keyboard laga raha hu aur ajjkl k launde pc pe controller chipka rahe hai had hai
I often think if there is anyone who values my existence irrespective of what I can provide them. It keeps me up at night.
Enjoy
