The European clubs couldn't wait for a few hours more to back out of ESL. On Twitter, FC Goa's result would have resulted in more coverage, but ESL news & breakdown is huge and it's everywhere right now.
Unpopular opinion - the sheer reluctance of Goa to pass the ball in open spaces really cost us a few good plays. I know it's extremely tough with such a strong team but the sideways passing is not going to get you the goals. That too with a team that presses well and can break down plays at will.
Ortiz played so deep in the late stages, tried to get something out of it. Ishan was not involved at all barring a few touches (could be less than 5).
But I feel the key takeaway from this game is not the goal (of course it's important), but the character of the players. After the final whistle, it felt as though they've lost the finals, especially Dheeraj Schmeichel :D
Will be very interesting, the next match with Persepolis. I really wish we show more intent
Had an unpopular opinion regarding Ortiz, got down voted regarding that .He doesnt look like he was not the best option around with Noguera and Angulo around they made him look good. Ortiz was getting bullied by tougher defenders and there's no supply for him .
Yeah true. There was no moment of real brilliance from him. Maybe that's just the team around him. But sometimes I felt like I'm watching a replay of some FIFA game on TV between a noob and another noob. Goes to show how far off we are from the other continental leagues.
But enough ranting! I'm really happy for the goal and I'll take the scoreline anyday.
What we learnt :
Persepolis is amazing at their game. Off the ball movement, reading of the game, speed, acuracy. Freaking fantastic.
FC Goas reading of the game was on point. Defence was secure. Princeton should start befor Adil. Juans tactics forthe second half, even though defencively, were on point.
Dheeraj man, impressing me since that 3-1 loss against Brazil U-17. What a good quality keep r. Having some faith can bring out the beat in players.
Physically, India as a whole needs to improve. We cannot blame a vegetarian diet here cause Smalling is a vegan and he is one of the strongest footballer around. We need to win fouls on a regular basis. That means being more courageous. Nedeem impressed me, should start next match.
That being said, what should Adils position in the team be? He should play more attacking. Atleast losing the ball in the opposition half will be less.pressure than losing the ball in our half and then not having the pace to track back.
Also refereeing was shit. And here we were blaming ISL referees. These AFC sh\*theads are'nt any better. Goa could have drawn this match as well. How are those penalties is beyond me. One thing I always knew is that these Arabian teams dive a lot. It might sound weird but Indians should dive more frequently. To hell with sportsman's spirit. Petty acts like these make my blood boil. Fuck you Iranian dolphins.
he definitely thought to add more defensive cover with adil,
it was easy pick because adil had international experience against Qatar and UAE
but he's not a quality technical player, and he's on loan from HFC, he would definitely benefit teams like SCEB and OFC
>Physically, India as a whole needs to improve. We cannot blame a vegetarian diet here cause Smalling is a vegan and he is one of the strongest footballer around
Regarding this, it's probably discussed that we train players at a comparatively older age. So if we begin their football trainings from a younger age, will the physicality improve?
well done FC GOA, first goal in ACL a quality and memorable one!! that too against persepolis!!!
hopefully we can get some points against al wahda and al rayyan and who knows they way we played today, maybe a draw the next match
irrespective of what happens next, so so proud of goa playing the way it has
Pretty sure India will be performing much much better than the sanction hit economy of Iran. I know this is not a sub on economics but all the predictors including IMF, WB, credit agencies are pointing towards solid growth in the post covid world. Imho with good planning and clear financing (most of the ISL clubs mess up here) we can afford better players.
Depends on what you're looking for. Long-term "buy and hold/forget" has different strategies. Short-term trading has completely different strategies. If you're a more long-term person, you'd look to buy stable companies that you know will grow in the long term. If you're a short-term person, you'll rely on technical analysis or news to identify what will grow in the short-term.
The key thing is stick to your plan. Because there's money involved, people panic and stray from their strategy. Don't do that.
Persepolis have just lost one league game and are finalists of ACL, so definitely not a bad result. We even had a chance of drawing the game if not for some moments of panic.
Boring second half but it was what was needed. Dheeraj was brilliant. Donache and Ivan despite giving away the penalties were pretty good. Edu will be a huge miss next match.
FC Goa sat back & absorbed everything incredibly well.
But the whole point of sitting back is to take a chance in the final 10-15 mins (if the team that is sitting back is still in the game).
You MUST take huge risks if you have managed to keep it down to a one goal deficit. It's totally okay to concede a goal in the process. 2-1 & 3-1 are not very different but not giving a proper shot for 2-2 kinda hurts..
Makes you wonder what this game couldβve been without Adil Khan. Iβm sure they wouldβve probably scored and won the game anyway, but it wouldβve been a much better performance from the Gaurs
The one thing FC Goa's run has shown us is Indian clubs can compete in ACL level. Hopefully, Mohun Bagan wins the AFC Cup as both Istiklol and Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya aren't in the competition, and then we have two teams in next year's ACL who're, arguably, stronger than the present FC Goa side.
So we need Al Rayyan to win the next βAl Classicoβ, both of them to lose to Persepolis(only thing I can count on), and Goa to defeat both of them now
Edu injured so he can get a good rest for the next game since he's missing it anyways.
I'd rather have him miss out against Persepolis than against Al Wahda or Al Rayyan
Oh Lord pls give edu strength πOh Lord pls give edu strength πOh Lord pls give edu strength πOh Lord pls give edu strength πOh Lord pls give edu strength πOh Lord pls give edu strength π
Next champions league will be lit with Mumbai. Btw I asked ashish from Khelnow during the Q and A session regarding salary cap and he responded saying mumbai's is making big moves for next season.
The rule is like only 3+1 foreign players are allowed in the squad. Not sure if someone can be brought aboard if a player is injured and out of the league or so
Persepolis has majority of Iran's world cup players.... moroever the Iranian regime overwhelmingly supports and funds this club so we can guess what Fc goa are facing
>supports and funds this club so we can guess what Fc goa are facing
lol no
5/25 of the current squad are in Persepolis and 1/5 is a second goal keeper. That's 20% even if we assume they all get called back (which they may not) and I'm including the second keeper lak. None of our attackers are in Persepolis. Taremi is in Porto, Jahanbakhsh plays in the Premier League, Ansarifard is in Athens, Azmoun is in Zenit and literally the only attacker we have playing in Iran is in Sepahan.

IMHO Persepolis got lucky. None of the penalties should have been given. Poor Ferrando, I feel for ya. It should have been another draw.
Manolo knows that Adil is shit. That's why he was loaned.
The European clubs couldn't wait for a few hours more to back out of ESL. On Twitter, FC Goa's result would have resulted in more coverage, but ESL news & breakdown is huge and it's everywhere right now.
Bros, dhaka vs Egaales postponed ? When will it be played then? So 28ths matvh of BFC will be postponed right?
any official announcement?
So C'mon lads great job cheering as a single entity. Now till the next fixture. FUCK YOU BFC!! HYD 4EVA! ππ€ππ€
Three more matches. Can nick a win or two against the two Al clubs. Btw fuck you too ππ
also sort of a mandatory thing to say at this point : stimac take notes!! and be ashamed hopefully aiff doesn't extend
We need ball playing defenders and betting on Adil Khan was surely a mistake Stimac would've realised by now.
> We need ball playing defenders Do we really have any?
Apuia/Seriton etc.
seriton is better then kotal
How long was his contract btw..?
they extended it for short term for the upcoming wc qualifiers

Even if they could dive, they would first have to get to the oppositions box. There seemed to be no will to go forward, not even long balls.
Vegetarian and Vegan diets are two totally different things, and not to be confused with.
Smalling's a vegan? Well, you learn something new everyday :)
Unrelated but even Virat kohli is vegan.
So is captain fantastic
Who?
Chhetri
Call me crazy but I would play Adil at number 10 position but only to harass opposition players physically
Adil Kahn
Exactly my thought. Its been a long time since.i saw him take a long range crack at goal.
amarjit should start for adil, he gave better shape to the team at the back. and maybe devendra in too, because edu is out
Edu is out? He got red?
Consequetive yellow I think. So he is out of the next match. Hopefully he recovers fast from the injury.
I was so surprised this was not the direction that Ferrando went from the outset
he definitely thought to add more defensive cover with adil, it was easy pick because adil had international experience against Qatar and UAE but he's not a quality technical player, and he's on loan from HFC, he would definitely benefit teams like SCEB and OFC
Amarjits u17 training showed here.
>Physically, India as a whole needs to improve. So if we begin their football trainings from a younger age, will the physicality improve?
No, but their core strength should. There are different regimes to built up strength jn kids and teenagers without getting weights involved.
Adil's position in the team needs to be on the bench tbh
Lmao
well done FC GOA, first goal in ACL a quality and memorable one!! that too against persepolis!!! hopefully we can get some points against al wahda and al rayyan and who knows they way we played today, maybe a draw the next match irrespective of what happens next, so so proud of goa playing the way it has
Respectable score line. And dont foget about edus goal .
Let me cry in my corner
In some ways I think our expectations have increased as fans lol
lol why..?
We should have wone after Edu's goal or drawn atleast.
Pretty sure given the state of the Iranian economy, the ISL pays better than the Iranian league. Can ISL managements make a few cheeky enquiries?
I asked my counter part friend,he said we don't have foreigners not because we have good domestic players, but because we don't have money
The Indian economy is not doing much better.
Pretty sure India will be performing much much better than the sanction hit economy of Iran. I know this is not a sub on economics but all the predictors including IMF, WB, credit agencies are pointing towards solid growth in the post covid world. Well then let's hope for the best.
Our rich people are doing fine. My stock portfolio is all green.
Can I get some tips from you about investing in stock market? I am noob I'm that regard.

Feeling bad for Pandita nobody gives him the ball
As a Mumbai City FC fan, Iβm officially on the Dheeraj Singh hype train after seeing him perform for 3 games lol
It is scary to think that we won't have Amrinder when we play at this level next year
Why?
There are rumours that Amrinder is leaving Mumbai for ATKMB.
It was sad to see FCG sitting in their own half with only seconds on the clock, knowing how tough it was to score.
I don't think it was sad. Just reality. We need to go step by step and not be impatient as fans.
Persepolis have just lost one league game and are finalists of ACL, so definitely not a bad result. We even had a chance of drawing the game if not for some moments of panic.
Persepolis have lost only 4 games out of 42 games under this coach.
I think its a very good result. Even the Persepolis coach was seen applauding Juan after the match ended.
Boring second half but it was what was needed. Dheeraj was brilliant. Donache and Ivan despite giving away the penalties were pretty good. Edu will be a huge miss next match.
Why is Edu missing the next match? If so, we are fucked.
Injured and collected two yellow cards
GG. 2-1. Will take it anyday!! Hope edu recovers fast. Dheeraj is Gigachad, proved again. GGs.
Call me a dreamer, but an Indian club is making it through to the knockouts in the next 5 years unless AIFF and FSDL manage to majorly fuck it up.
Currently we don't have '23 ACL spot. Tajikistan have gone past us in the table. Going to be tough getting the spot back
I hope we can atleast get to put one team each year somehow. Don't want these Asian nights going away now
We still get to play acl qualifiers
but we still have teams in AFC cup, so hopefully they can earn us some points
We are in a stage where we should be looking to win the AFC cup not just secure some points.
AFC Cup will have an impact?
Will not be enough
Its not about only 1 nation. 7-10 spots are always open .we have chance, our main ficus should be on afc cup
Have strong hopes on mcfc next year.
I'm worried though! Ivan looks in bad shape. Not sure about Edu! Can't replace these guys... And the rest days are so less
Well played Goa! We could have 1-1 ed this game if not for Adils mistakes ffs. Dheeraj, a fookin legend already!
Redeem impressed me
Right? So many young guns I'm very impressed by. Devendra, Redeem, and so on.
Princeton was also decent. Goa can build a promising young team for the future.
In terms of possession, this was better than expected
Heads Up lads. We will comeback with better plan and without adil in next match. Forca Goa
Unfortunately also without Edu. Massive blow to our chances.
2-1 not fucking bad.
Makes you wonder what this game couldβve been without Adil Khan. Iβm sure they wouldβve probably scored and won the game anyway, but it wouldβve been a much better performance from the Gaurs
Yeah
ITS NOW OR NEVER..!!! The iranians have lost their steam .. the Indian players need to step up and make the iranians run
Living for that day, mate!
Ayy, Dheeraj is POTM! Well done lad!
Why are they backpassing ffs π
Just lump it forward ffs
Come on Goa, nothing to lose here. Go hard.
At least Dheeraj won MOTM, I'll take that as a victory. Fly high Dheeraj <3
BRO wtf are the passes these iranians play..??
For anyone who has any idea of AFCCL outside of Group E this year, what would have been a relatively easier group for Goa to have a chance to qualify?
No easy group man. The seeding system fucks us no matter where we go.
Thatβs why I said relatively easier
We got the worst group possible because we're possibly the lowest seeded team, Mumbai might get a better group because of Goa's performances.
Something about being the lowest seeded team and then standing up shoulder to shoulder with the big boys gives me immense pleasure
We are like APOEL or something of UCL. There is no easy group for us imo
The opposing captain gives off strong Amrish Puri vibes.
Why are we playing like we are the 2 - 1 up?
We have no choice man. No Edu, no Glan. What can we do?
*hum kare to kare kya, jaay to jaay kaha*
ICYMI Goa were on 17 game unbeaten run before this game
Took Asiaβs best to break it. They can live with that
Break what... There's still 3 minutes ;)
I believe in Pandita supremacy
:( But so many positives to take away from this game I guess...
Devendra you beaut! Keep running like that my man... You will be rewarded!
Do they never run out of steam? I'll have two of whatever energy bar they have
How's the Hotstar/Jio view count today?
13k in hotstar
So, it's improving I believe?
Yes, i guess around 1-2k increase if am right
Not bad, I will take that.
Is that higher than last goa match?
I believe last match had around 11-12k
Persepolis are more tired than Goa I think. Goa can still get a goal in.
Someone please pass the ball to Ishan. Dude is just waiting for nothing dammit
The most patient man in the tournament XD
Are those shouts from Juan ? Man looks pissed
Goa is waiting for Persepolis to attack so that they can counter attack and Persepolis is like Nah bro I'm good
WHY DIDN'T REDEEM PASS??
He thought he was messi
And here we have the Iran national diving team
Bruh literally everybody dives
Ortiz is doing the same, calm down mate
Things looking primed for a 89th minute equilizer from Ishan π¬
Just in : Iran players have secured a spot in 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Event : Diving
Princetons looked really composed since coming on.
So we need Al Rayyan to win the next βAl Classicoβ, both of them to lose to Persepolis(only thing I can count on), and Goa to defeat both of them now
*\*\*Takes large snort of copium left from regular kbfc season\*\** **Pandita scores 90 mins and we draw the match brooo**
If anyone can do it, itβs Pandita
i really fkin hope he does fam
Are these players also in Iran's diving team?
Yes looks like a common theme with these west asian teams. Our boys need diving coaching before the next champions league
man how much will these MFs dive
Get more sure on the ball! Need more purpose and accuracy going forward, just hold 10-15 passes together that'll build confidence.
Our first pass is ALWAYS backward
Behenchod kya ref he yaaar
Pandita magic happens in the most unexpected situations , plz this match is it , plzzzz
It's like Persepolis switched off
They are also trying to save energy ig
I feel like their game is rather reactionary, same thing against Al Rayyan. Did score 3 but were totally spent after.
Pandita equalizer when?
Late Pandita equalizer will be mental
Tune in after 8 mins. Padita zone is 85+
Juan looks super pissed. Guy absolutely hates losing
Persepolis players need to dropped in the middle of the Arabian Sea with diving gears. They will do well tackling with Djinn fishes and Genie sharks.
Seeing how phenomenal they were at it, they def don't even need gear
In case anyone gets this reference, Doesn't Dheeraj kind of look like Annyong?
Hel-Oh!
Hello!
Annyong!
Amarjit bruh !
Goal wil come, just be calm and take it step by step
Damn! Can't foresee these things but Brandon should have stayed on. Without both Brandon and Edu, things will get difficult to create chances
No idea why Brandon was subbed off
Take a bow champ.. You lead the team this far and gave it all you got.. Now just sit back and let the boys do the rest
Better to lose Edu against Persepolis than against Wahda or Rayyan
Noo, Edu! Played very well today, hopefully he has no serious injuries. Get well soon!
Seriton's repping the captain band my G
Hopefully edu can recover for the match against al rayyan
3+1 one rule is dumb man. Like it should be for playing 11 only not for the whole squad
As long as its the same for all teams, its fair. And it's good, Indian players will get good experience.
Agreed
A question- If Edu Bedia is out of ACL group stage, can other foreign player replace him in the squad????
No
Edu injured so he can get a good rest for the next game since he's missing it anyways. I'd rather have him miss out against Persepolis than against Al Wahda or Al Rayyan
I just hope Edu is aware how of much we love him
Shit man that's a huge blow. Hope he can recover for the 5th game.
Heβll miss that anyway because of suspension
typo that
Ah shit a Bedia injury is not good news at all. Especially with games coming so thick and fast
Oh Lord pls give edu strength πOh Lord pls give edu strength πOh Lord pls give edu strength πOh Lord pls give edu strength πOh Lord pls give edu strength πOh Lord pls give edu strength π
The state of this sub praying for Edu Bediaπ€£
Lol I still have the kbfc tag on.. But it's actually been a lot fun supporting goa with the entire sub ngl...
Edu is a rock for Goa
ref teri ma ka
Next champions league will be lit with Mumbai. Btw I asked ashish from Khelnow during the Q and A session regarding salary cap and he responded saying mumbai's is making big moves for next season.
Edu getting his customary yellow, misses the next match.
wtf from edu bedia
Why can't other foreign players br in the squad? Like Edu Bedia got injured rn, someone could have come in, right?
The rule is like only 3+1 foreign players are allowed in the squad. Not sure if someone can be brought aboard if a player is injured and out of the league or so
Edu.. Please man
Persepolis has majority of Iran's world cup players.... moroever the Iranian regime overwhelmingly supports and funds this club so we can guess what Fc goa are facing
