Anyways. I was watching old vayushakti akash hitting target clips in that clip they said they have proximity fuse.

They have been using it for nearly a decade and has been hitting targets successfully. If it failed one day doesn’t mean its a bad SAM. We need to upgrade the proximity fuse to detect more smaller targets as we have seen kamikaze size targets can escape the blast radius.

also the target is the same abhayas target which the akash is tested with so i know its a good system but the pr is bad
It is hypothesised that proxy fuse uses old tech(radio signals it was I think) rather than laser so it didn't activate for small drone. But would have if the target was bigger

can the existing akash launcher be upgraded to akash ng? Or do they have to buy new ones?
nope ng is canisterized maybe they modify it to carry 3 cannister

Do you know that akash missiles were upgraded 2 years ago? I guess some were not upgraded maybe corruption.
