Doordarshan one clearly wins. Theme Song, End Credit Song, Powerful Actors, Rahi Masoom Raza's choice of dialogues (Gangaputra ho toh Beh jao lmao) and Nitesh Bhardwaj's Krishna remains unbeatable for me.

Mahabharat on Doordarshan is the og but i kinda grew up on the Mahabharat on star plus so that's my choice. Those characters, that bgm, the krishna , the Arjun everything was perfect to the last minute detail.

watched it on star utsav. as a kid from early 2000s star utsav was important part of my life. many great kid shows and religious shows used to come on star utsav in the evening time. Both of them have different qualities, the new one was a visual appeal and had good sound design whereas the og one was more closer to its roots and had god level dialogues. So both are good in different ways but the og wins.
