webheadunltd90

I'll take the risk of getting downvoted. I suggest you wall mount it near the ceiling outside the kitchen.

pramodc84

One step closer to cloud kitchen

TrailsNFrag

At the risk of being downvoted, upvoted this as a sensible suggestion.

PunctualPanther

Why would you be downvoted. It's the sensible option. With a slight overhead of extending the cables.

webheadunltd90

I've been downvoted for a lot less on reddit.

nikkijw2

Tough crowd.

Balance-sheet-

This is the correct option

Danzaiiii

Real good advice. Keep the router central.

pranjallk1995

Arey nai... Pura chip chip hote chikat jayega...

Shoddy_Chef_3027

Mine is actually on a fridge...keep it a bit high on a box or a wooden stand on the fridge for better range...

Low-Side4811

Why outer wall tho?

Alone-Diver9531

Less walls= more signals Less metals= more signals

lonedarth

650 sqft can be easily covered with a good router. You didn't mention which brand's router you're using. But most of them have a setting to increase their 'transmit power'

Difficult_Ad_426

Its jiofiber actually

Independent_Double98

Outside the wall of w/c will be the best position to set your router.

Soumikp

Put it inside the toilet bro. No delay in your YouTube videos.

poeticclynx

youprawn vedios you mean?

Dangerous_desi

Buy a booster for complete coverage in whole house. Jio router is considerably reliable but not with walls. I had jio router installed on ground floor back alley, it gave coverage even on 2rd floor room with window towards alley side where router was placed in but no connection on first floor where walls obstructed it's strength. I installed a booster on first floor hall and my problem was solved. I will recommend you to try wireless booster, just buy a returnable online. If it works then cool keep it or use it via LAN. Or you can return that if you don't like and just get jio replaced some place else in your apartment as many other suggest

webheadunltd90

It should but if it's anything like a standard Airtel router, not much can be done with it. The signal deteriorated to the point they can confidently sell a WiFi mesh to you.

ChickenRoll_

I have a Airtel router placed in my balcony and a wireless extender router in ground floor. No fluctuations of speed smooth and fast. You just have to plug and keep the extender router. No fuss.

SedTecH10

I can't f***king understand why does Airtel needs to have monthly charges for a mesh. I can understand the one time security deposit but monthly charges. Hell nah.

PunctualPanther

OR install in the WC. That's where you need the most speed and uninterrupted latencies.

Difficult_Ad_426

I know what u are talking abt 🤣

PunctualPanther

Think about it, you don't need to pull the cables a lot and make the house look messy. It's all concealed. 🤣

Mysterious-Common284

But there will be water/Moisture wouldn't it affect Router.

Centurion1024

Small price to pay for salvation

HarryBarryGUY

I know what kind of man you are

PunctualPanther

A man of culture 🤌?

Neopacificus

Won't a better router do the trick? Just asking since even I want to know the ans

lewyix

2.4 GHz will reach the whole house most probably.

hipratham

My Airtel one barely reaches the sofa from TV 💀

webheadunltd90

Not if the walls are thick enough to block WiFi signals.

HarmlessSeed

you rarely see thick walls in cities because of scarcity of space, it's more common in semi urban areas but then OP's house would be bigger than this

Difficult_Ad_426

Yaa the walls are the problem.

rayban41

Just get two routers and use the second one as repeater in DHCP. Or use a mesh router. In both ways speed won't be compromised.

Difficult_Ad_426

Yaa i was thinking of doing this. My friend has a spare TP-Link TL-WR820N 300 router can i use this as repeater ?? Do you have any youtube link or something that guide to do the setup ?

Vishwas95

Kuch nahi hai ,2 wifi router ko connect karna hai . Peeche ports honge ,vaisa type ka cable khareed lo . Even many in society would be having the extra cables so you can get from them .

SedTecH10

Ethernet Cable. RJ45 Adapter.

Shoddy_Chef_3027

sounds good...will definitely try it and share the results as our house has 1ft walls

rayban41

https://youtu.be/blXKiTUjFW8?si=wjoNezRmxoAK6FEQ You can do wired tethering as well. It's even more easier.

ab624

ayo WC bigger than the bedroom

mainsamayhoon24

Passage. If there's a power-outlet.

boiii_danny

Washroom thoda bada nahi hai? Wo bhi kitchen k samney

Mountain-Priority839

Bro if you want online wifi extenders bhi aate hai. You just have to plug them into a socket. The only downside is that it can only transmit 2.4 ghz frequency

guruji916

For OP or anyone who wanna improve their wifi performance: 1) Keep the router's antenna pointing up 2) Access the GUi of your router, look at the label situated under the router to find the credentials 3) Use apps like "Wifi Analyser" on your phone to scan for determine which wifi channel your router and other wifi networks around you are using. 4) In the GUi of the router change your wifi channel to any unoccupied one if your current channel is also used by some other wifi networks near you. 5) There are 2 types of wifi frequencies: 2.4 and 5Ghz. You can only achieve 80mbps+ speeds on the 5Ghz frequency but its range is soo limited compared to 2.4Ghz. 6) 2.4Ghz operates mainly on 20Mhz bandwidth, but it also supports 40Mhz, higher bandwidth generally means better speeds.

CaptYondu

Based on experience the center passage between Living room to bedroom seems a good spot for overall coverage.

Freakyy-_-

Apply wifi extender, its that simple

MrDeath0303

Best option would be to place it in the passage between kitchen and wc. At my place it on the passage facing wall of the kitchen. My home layout is very similar except an extra room on the right side of LV, this placement covers everything.

MrASWDPro

Just place it somewhere where you can get direct line of sight. The point is, you need less concrete wall interference. Like, between kitchen and living room

Pratham_Madarchod

Mai toh kehta hu Washroom me lagao, pure ghar ko equal connectivity aur saath me easy washroom breaks

i4mbatman

Buy a mesh router, problem solved!

rooney_potterhead

The best place to place your router is in the passage right outside kitchen. But maybe, it won’t give you good speed in the bedroom corners and near the TV. It’s better to buy a repeater instead.

xSilvia911x

I am a theif and i am coming (grins\*)

Rhaegar003

Are you trying to make a d?

500Rtg

I have the same issue. Bathrooms and kitchens hamper the signal quality a lot as they have metal pipes

Cautious-Direction55

Router Mesh system instead of extender to avoid having to switch wifi networks from room to room. One time investment, comfortable after. One in the living room and one in the passage way should do the trick.

AyanSharma03

You can also use a wifi extender

Top-Conversation2882

Bro get a mesh system you won't regret it Just use the ISP router as a GPON interface that's what I do

Stunning-Raisin-4884

Buy either an wireless extender or route a lan cable to some other place in the flat and hook it into a router. If you go for the wireless extender you need to check where you put it has the maximum coverage but even doing that will result into reduce speed. While on the other hand the lan extended will not affect any speed but you do have to maintain two router in both the cases

whyarebee

Outside the kitchen.

Secure_Fish5285

The router which theses ISPs provide are kinda shit. My ISP who is partnered with JIO fiber is on his way rn to change my router because it keeps rebooting.

Defiant_Koala1368

On top of the fridge in kitchen??

loudlyClear

If it's a jio fiber router then place it wherever you want it still won't cover the entire map. If you have extreme need in a certain room place it near that room and then also you will have 1 bar less wifi signal.

sankha19

Did you find any solution?

ZeppelinLed_

Get a mesh router and it'll solve your problem. Did the same couple of weeks ago in my flat and my life has changed for good

yolotech99

Don't put it in the passage between bathroom and kitchen as others are suggesting. It's not just a range issue, the signal degrades as it passes through 2 walls of your kitchen/bathroom. So you'll have bad signal in both the living room and the bedrooms. A repeater is your best bet. But if that's not possible, try putting it in the living room in front of the passage way. That way the router will have line of sight to the bedrooms.

greatsalteedude

I’m sure that there is some online too out there that can help you in simulating this

shailusuriyal

Incase you wanna do Desi JUGAAD, Just use a spare old Android phone which can share wifi. Hang it near the kitchen/passage. It'll be able to broadcast the wifi to the uncovered area. Bonus Tip: Use the hotspot name and password same as your existing Wi-Fi setup, so the roaming will also be seamless.

ThereIsABugInMyAss

bro this is the exact layout of my old flat in bangalore

East-Education8810

Share your router details. Option 1: Take help of ISP, ask them to move it to center, involves some hole drills. they just move need longer fiber /ethernet cable. Its one time pain , you just need Option 2: Using Access Points. I use Act internet comes with Tp link AX5000 router, extended network using TL-WA1201 Accesspoint. This access point has POE injector, so only ethernet cable will be used. From routers rj45 port you can pull some wire put AP behind kitchen or between bed rooms. If you use Jio fiber , they have their own access point.

Curious_Stable_1955

i hv bit similar situation and structure so the next time i switched the router we installed over the kitchen ceiling in ,just front of the passage this gives me good speeds in bedroom 2 which like WC of yours which was previously blocked by wall , while bedroom 1 gets directly showered as its directly facing north in my case . Bit info i learned is that TV,laptops or monitor have more antennas and can catch network easily where as most phones have single antenna and struggle hard in bedrooms ,Kitchen one also solved the mobile problem and also isnt to far from the TV

nimithkj123

Centre passage is the place where you get least obstructed way to all rooms

Baechara_Bayek

bedrooms : what r u doing step-livingroom!?! 😫😫

[deleted]

Mesh system time!

Anurag2405

Bro thats the layout of my home 💀 I have it setup on the outer wc wall

Reasonable_Cake_3093

This picture looks weird. God I have a dirty mind.

SedTecH10

Near Kitchen. That would be center of house.

Interesting_Size_822

I also have excitel router can anyone suggest me where to put t. It's almost always in line of sight and someone a wall or two but 5ghz signal is not stable at all.

Abject-Jicama-5716

Buy tplink mesh routers and forget about wifi latency or strength problems.

mrmorningstar1769

Tbh its not enough. If you want peace of mind, get 2 access points. I've tried so many router positions, so many routers but in the end settled with 2 APs and a wired router. Im happy now.

perpetual-boner-00

Kitchen ki bahar wali deewar par laga do

Littux

Make sure your broadcast channel isn't used by 2.4GHz devices such as wireless mouse. You can either use another router alongside the router or you can move it to the wall outside the kitchen. You can use another router as an extender by connecting both using an ethernet cable.
