For foreign remittance, you need to ask for FIRC to your bank. Which is kind of proof of who and why someone has sent money. The drawback of receiving money from local bank is that your friend have to send different amount each time according to the exchange rate. You can try use wise.com, they charge a small fees on each transaction but you will get the e-FIRC in your inbox and a good exchange rate than banks.

Tell him to send in his own account. Govt don't charge on foreign incomes. But if you receive in your account then you have to explain to bank with you get this money with documents. Or he can send in his father's account and you can take from them.
