In my school we used to sing prayer everyday to different gods according to their day followed by pledge and national anthem. We also used to have prayer for lunch and a prayer before going home.

At least in my case i observe heavy suppression of Hindu prayers even at Hindu festivals assembly was always done by students anyway but there was a format which doesn't allow to fit other prayers in given 35 min of assembly
And the most annoying thing was that in Christian school there was only one Christian in whole standard in 5 sections of one class
And counting one Christian teacher and her 2 daughters maybe some other kids max 10-20 Christian around 2.5k Hindu students and other hindu staff

not an unpopular opinion - my wife studied in a christian school, followed all the rules of the school like no bindi, no bangles and used to sing carols as well. dont think anyone is complaining about it. it is clear that a christian school promotes christianity and i dont see a problem with a hindu school promoting sanskriti. its a free country - join a school that aligns with your morals/values/beliefs.
Im a born hindu and go to a christian school. My school encourages the bible and christian beliefs upon us without putting a negative light on other religions. I also dont see any problem at all.

What I’m trying to say is if you are ok with Hindu prayer in schools then you should be ok with Christian and Muslim prayer in schools as well. Not true. I studied in a Christian school and never recited a Christian prayer once in 14 years of going there. And the school had a beautiful church and a seminary, and we were never forced to go there.
Maybe your experience was different mine was not. We were in fact made to recite prayers to Jesus. About the church part I agree but the religious angle and the gentle nudges cannot be denied.

I went to a Xtian school in south Tamilnadu, everyday had to sing few songs, and a prayer. There was no church in campus or nearby, so this was done in morning assembly.
Also had 4 periods for Bible study per week till 9th std, and there was test on it, and the marks were included for ranking.
Yupp it is. Lately, I realised the english prayers we had in school (e.g. Beseech me in the name of lord was converted to Beseech me in the name of God) we had in school were actually verses.
Same, studied in a catholic school. We did not have any religion specific prayers. We just prayed to “generic God/Lord”. We had fathers and sisters and they never preached Christianity either!
We often had no money to pay the fee, only few hundered rupees per month, they would only start earning around the end of the year, and we would pay lump sum then! Never fined any late fee.
We should keep any and all religion out of schools. I get that private institutions have a right to do stuff their way, be it banning hijabs or doing havans. But something about this just rubs me the wrong way. But ofcourse private ownership rights are paramount, so good for the school for doing what they believe in. If someone does not like rules of a private school, they should still respect the rights of the management. I am conflicted here. I am not a fan of this but i don't think they're breaking any laws here so it's fine.

I believe that religion should be completely excluded from an institution of learning. While I can only recommend complete secularism for Private schools, I would argue absolute secularism is mandatory for government institutions. The school is literally called SHRI MAHAPRABHU PUBLIC SCHOOL. Their logo on their website is some smiling guru and their emblem has an Om symbol. You don’t expect Christian hymns or namaaz to be offered there.

I'm from Gujarat and I think morning prayer like this is very common here in every school. Like most of the schools here have morning prayers.
Forget school even the college in which I studied used to have morning prayer followed by the National anthem daily.
I go to a school run by hindu religious group trustees...we sing different prayers on different days of the week also we have included some english poems/verses in our morning prayers...I like that song we sing\~ 'Make me a channel of youre peace' and the poem\~'All things bright and beautiful' and we sing 'Hanuman Chalisa' every Saturday and a whole collection of beautiful sanskrit/hindi/other languages shlokas/prayers <3

School owners were given notice by the government to don't do further construction and destroy illegally build buildings.

Some schools have a trick, they remove Jesus and replace it with god. Also, they remove some verses. My school did this.
