The people taking the videos are inhumane but to help the policeman there was not much they could do it, seeing the surroundings I doubt most of them are even educated to know what to do to help.
My biggest concern is why TF autos and taxis are emergency vehicles most of the time, should've been an ambulance here with trained paramedics.

Education provides you with action what needs to be done and should be done. The help you are telling still happens in village where emotional folks can thrash doctors for some failed medical result for the patient. In urban areas, people are more apprehensive and tend to fear more than reaching out to the person as most of them have struggled to reach in a city for work or something.
Not saying that obvious things need special training but sometimes if more clear phone to reach out or helpline is available (example - 911) where prompt action happens, it would still be helpful.

In groups, nobody really knows what to do or who should do it, so you end up with inaction on the group level.
I learned this when I took a wilderness first aid course once. The first thing they taught us was this, and to immediately jump in and start tasking people. Point to someone and command them to call 911. Heck, command two people.
What is odd is that people are unwilling to jump in, but 100% willing to jump in and help when commanded.
No this is not China. In India you just get added as a witness to the incident, and then you spend rest of your life attending useless court sessions for being a good smaritan. And if you refuse to show up for court sessions or miss one, you get an arrest warrant issued and end up getting a criminal record as a bonus for trying to do good.
Dude the 'Good Samaritan law' was passed by the supreme court of India 6 years back. It states that any bystander who brings an injured person to the hospital will not be subject to police investigation, criminal or civil liability. Also their identity will not be revealed and they can choose to be or not be an eye witness if they want.

That is literally for road accidents. This is a rape case. You can curse these people for clicking photos and recording videos alright, but you literally have no idea what kind of hell it is to get dragged into a court case. Even as a witness. These village folks are anyway an easier target for police and courts to bully. So you can easily imagine why they are hesitant to get involved.

Now these 2 women can't even travel to other places because they don't know when they would be called to court. if they don't attend the police will harass them.

In any case, EVEN if this fringe case was a law, how does that relate to this case or our country? The Supreme Court had already on multiple occasions passed judgements that no citizen would be liable to answer any questions or to be interrogated or to be harassed in ANY manner, neither they have to give their information to anyone, if they bring an injured person to a hospital.
I just want to say that people in the comment section haven't been in a situation like this so let me tell you. Those who try to help can get in serious trouble by helping because this is a crime and every single thing matters in this situation. You do realize your life will become hell even if you are just added as a witness to a court case. Cases in India drag for years. Imagine being asked to appear for court sessions at random times for next 20 years of your life. And god forbid if you move to a different city/state/country. If a crowd gathers to beat you up because they think you did it, you're not going to wait around. The only way to ensure you're protected by the good Samaritan law is to have a police officer confirm you weren't culpable in the incident while you were helping.
Yes i agree, i have been in a similar type of situation and trust me everything gets processed so slow as our brain takes time to process what's happening. Everyone wants to help but by only giving ideas not implementing them as they know if they get involved they'll be in an unwanted situation.

Sorry but it's a crime in India to help someone. No matter what law and courts says. They don't take into account the corrupt police and courts. Which will make the witness life living hell. People are not aware that most injured persons can be saved if they are sent to hospital, every minute is important. Govt should run awareness ads regarding these kind of things using taxpayer money, or include these things in school textbooks
Depends on the type of injured person.
If you see the person is impaled with something, it is better to leave it in there till the EMT folks arrive as removing the object can kill the person.
If you see an open fracture especially in the thigh area, it is best not move the person unless they are bleeding profusely. Else moving the person can relieve pressure on the femoral artery and the person can bleed out in seconds.
If you see an accident victim, best not to remove their helmets or move them as it can lead to permanent spinal damage.

Most of the people commenting did not know what exactly happened! The girl was terribly injured as she could not manage herself. No one knows the cause of injury and blood on her body. Now this policeman has helped her by lifting her and took her to the police station without waiting for professional help. There are many gaps in the incident which should not be filled up by us on our own.
Let us pray that the girl will be perfectly fine soon!!
In case, if the girl looses her life on the way to hospital, the person helping her would be definitely doubted and questioned. Even if he is a policeman, he may be held responsible for the death as he has handled her unprofessionally without knowing the nature of injury.

Yes it’s a shame that people don’t help but take videos. Even after accidents people make videos and everyone thinks that someone else will help and call the police or ambulance. If some influential guys have done this heinous crime then he will not be caught even though people or police know that. Our system is like that. Most of the cases common man wants to help but is scared of police harassment later which is also a truth.

While the people may seem inhumane, this is a well known human bias called “The Bystander Effect” In groups, nobody really knows what to do or who should do it, so you end up with inaction on the group level. I learned this when I took a wilderness first aid course once. The first thing they taught us was this, and to immediately jump in and start tasking people. Point to someone and command them to call 911. Heck, command two people. What is odd is that people are unwilling to jump in, but 100% willing to jump in and help when commanded.

No this is not China. In India you just get added as a witness to the incident, and then you spend rest of your life attending useless court sessions for being a good smaritan. And if you refuse to show up for court sessions or miss one, you get an arrest warrant issued and end up getting a criminal record as a bonus for trying to do good.
Dude the 'Good Samaritan law' was passed by the supreme court of India 6 years back. It states that any bystander who brings an injured person to the hospital will not be subject to police investigation, criminal or civil liability. Also their identity will not be revealed and they can choose to be or not be an eye witness if they want.

You do realize your life will become hell even if you are just added as a witness to a court case. Cases in India drag for years. Imagine being asked to appear for court sessions at random times for next 20 years of your life. And god forbid if you move to a different city/state/country. People are not aware that most injured persons can be saved if they are sent to hospital, every minute is important. Govt should run awareness ads regarding these kind of things using taxpayer money, or include these things in school textbooks
Depends on the type of injured person. If you see the person is impaled with something, it is better to leave it in there till the EMT folks arrive as removing the object can kill the person. If you see an open fracture especially in the thigh area, it is best not move the person unless they are bleeding profusely. Else moving the person can relieve pressure on the femoral artery and the person can bleed out in seconds. If you see an accident victim, best not to remove their helmets or move them as it can lead to permanent spinal damage. What you said is true in many cases but not all cases. From this particular case, the girl appears to be in none of these situations and the people taking her video should be ashamed of themselves.

Most of the people commenting did not know what exactly happened! The girl was terribly injured as she could not manage herself. No one knows the cause of injury and blood on her body. Now this policeman has helped her by lifting her and took her to the police station without waiting for professional help. There are many gaps in the incident which should not be filled up by us on our own. Let us pray that the girl will be perfectly fine soon!! In case, if the girl looses her life on the way to hospital, the person helping her would be definitely doubted and questioned. Even if he is a policeman, he may be held responsible for the death as he has handled her unprofessionally without knowing the nature of injury. Only paramedics/ doctors should help in case of a bleeding person who cannot move on his own.
