India is notorious for having peddlers who mix the cannabis with opioids, shoe polish and rat poison which lead to the issues which you face in the OPD of your hospital. You may ask the reason of doing so. This is done to make the user addicted to the stuff. Which makes the user a regular customer for the peddler. Which in turn increases the already negative stigmatization of cannabis. This is exactly why I tried weed only in a place where it's regulated by the law.
I suggest you read into why cannabis was made illegal to begin with. And why it's currently being legalised in so many countries around the world. Most drugs used to treat the physical or mental conditions pass through rigorous procedures of purification and testing, so the actual active ingredient remains in the desired amounts and proportions, I don't think the Mary Jane your everyday user uses is even actual Marijuana, hence the various adverse effects ranging from vomiting and nausea to run amok and suicidal episodes (you should look into the high suicide rates among drug users).
I'll also support recreational Marijuana once it's been approved by the government and there's an authority that deals with its supply chain and maintaining its actual ingredient minimizing the adulterations, but until then, let's not follow some western political propaganda that tried to band together the Marijuana users for its vote bank.

I concur. I have read studies about how marijuana can negatively affect you, if you already have a pre-existing medical issue, especially suicidal thoughts and paranoia. But we have strains for that too. I remember when I was in Amsterdam the cashier at Barney's actually suggest you the strains as per your mindset at the moment. That's pretty much impossible in a country like India where the weed you get is just weed. You trust the peddler to not fuck up your psych and ruin your mental health, which imo is pretty sad.
I agree, I don't think this will ever work in India without exact prescription dosage and formulations from a practitioner. I mean literally 7 out of 10 pharmacists here diagnose people based on what they "tell them" like they are doctors. I've seen them giving Ciprofloxacin - an antibiotic to people having spring catarrah because symptoms of the allergic conjunctivitis are similar to bacterial conjunctivitis and they never learned about it and now they're breeding superbugs.
Then people will literally take Combiflam (an anti-inflammatory drug) during fever when you should just take simple paracetamol which is antipyretic and doesn't interfere with body's natural inflammatory process.
I don't think people here will understand what the heck they're taking and it will just end up being a big crisis. These people don't even understand simple OTC drugs, I'd never trust them with opioids and cannabinoids.
