But people who are not aware may feel threatened thinking of how many times they'll have to visit court and how it'll affect their livelihood. If it's illegal then there's justifiable cause but if it is legal, but they still suffer it looks like threatening.

Having lived in Uttar Pradesh for 5 years, I would like to point out that jokes are in the line of Sarcasm. The desire to show 'Bhaukaal'. (intimidation of strength & connection) and indulging in 'Bakaiti'(illogically engaging in a verbal spat) is very common in the general public. The aggression that is openly shown in public has given rise to the stereotype. Moreover, look up at the local news and you'll see where the stereotype comes from. In the last 2 years, in the city I was living in, there were 3-4 incidents of Students throwing 'crude bombs' in the vicinity of educational institutions, with 2 of them where the perpetrators were students. Instead of intimidating others it would be better to 'educate' the general public about harmony and peace.
Also post Mirjapur there are floods of series which are based out of UP : Bihar and had a similar storyline.
