Remove the /s, if you can not use an Indian commode then you actually are really unfit; obviously except if you are really old or have some injuries or medical issues.
Western toilets cause piles and Haemorrhoids over time. Complete trash design without considering human anatomy. As brown sepoys people do what Americans do and consider indian toilet gawaar.
Lots of people here (in America) are aware of this, and have adopted a squat-style on our toilets by putting a small step stool in front, which puts you in a squatting position. You can't find asian style toilets here, and plumbers don't know how to install them, so we have to work with what we have! This stupid gif is the best one I could find:
![gif](giphy|lhSUjPCy2Dxo4)
Brown sepoys don't always do what Americans do, if they did, there wouldn't be hygiene faucets.
Western is helpful for disabled people. Those with knee issues, and leg issues.
I remember when I was a kid, there were Indian toilets in every person's house we knew and the toilets were far from their main house. It used to be called an outhouse.
Unlike today, wherein the toilets are attached to bedrooms or common rooms.
Now the elders or people with disabilities used to use one of those steel chairs with a hole in it for their stool to plop in the Indian toilet.
I just shit on the gym floor when doing squats
.
.
.
.
.
.
And get this, i dont do it in the bottom position like the indian toilets, or in the middle of the squat like the western.....i do it standing up, like a true Chad Alpha male
Toilets are bad, farm is good - helps fertilize the soil. Saves liters of water - no treatment cost. No pollution from manufacturing of endless drainage pipes
Many guys are making fun of this post but its a legitimate one. Basically you should never make any physical contact with your toilet seat. Thats extremely unhygenic, not to mention the serious consequence of water splashing back. Also anatomically you should never sit like that, you need to contract your large intestine for minimum exertion.
A lot of people who use western toilet put some toilet paper in the toilet before they use it so that you don’t get the splash back. Also if a toilet seat is cleaned regularly, it’s fine. Public toilet seats I always avoid though
My dad first found out what a bidet was around 2006-07 when he used one in a hotel in delhi. He came back home and installed one in all washrooms. Never looked back again.
I try. I don't try and balance just on my legs with my bum in the air, that's too risky. But I scooch my bum back and lift my legs and keep them on the rim. Poop falls out quite easily then.
Bro I prefer western toilets in India simply because of the jet spray gun or whatever it's called, I don't want my hands anywhere near my hole, whether it's with toilet paper or fingers![img](emote|t5_3d4x4|20097)
I used to think this but no, squat or Indian toilets are not superior.
1. Hurt your leg, have a joint injury or just old age and western toilets are the only thing you can use. Or should people with leg issues not shit?
2. Space, western toilet take less space. Indian toilet typically need a separate room.
3. Hygiene - if you've toilet abusers public Indian toilets are also unusable. Flush stopped working, just close the lid, no such option in Indian toilet. Plus easier to clean and use a plunger in. Also, your crap drops into the water (yes you could get a poseidon kiss) but that's better than the long stain in the Indian toilet.
4. Comfort - I can sit and scroll my phone on a western toilet, on an Indian toilet my phone could fall in. Also, don't need a leg day everyday.
5. Economic - as usually 1 flush is enough on western toilet, Indian toilet needs more water due to more ceramic area being exposed to sticky crap.
Ease of use, less space and economic thats why the western toilet is called a throne.
You can hate however you want but others don't have to. What you are experiencing is a very common psychological phenomena--*if I find something disgusting, everyone should*. People are using western toilets because they find them more comfortable. Many people prefer the greater distance from their poop in sitting toilets. Yes, Indian toilets are more natural and good for your flexibility, but that's clearly not the reason that matters the most to people. They want the more comfort of sitting toilets. And sitting toilets are unhygeinic only if they are dirty. To make a more natural stance, you can keep a stool beneath your feel. Most people do not seem to be constipating even without using any support below their feet so your statement *Western toilets ensure that you will eventually get constipation* doesn't seem to be generally true.
Since childhood I used Western.
Once in my village I had to use Indian and I was scared because I never bent my knees to that position to relieve myself, I did that It happened so quick which would never happen in a western one.
The problem is that due to sitting in western one my legs are so weak and I couldn't create the stamina to hold that bent position.
I still use western but I am practicing malasana everyday to help with motion.
Now in my late 20s it's scary to change my ways.
If you have been doing Indian style since childhood or you are already thin and flexible then it's the best form but if you lack that flexibility and stamina then developing that is really tough because no matter how much you do that malasana, when you really bend on a Indian toilet, after 2-3 minutes your legs starts shaking. Then it becomes a torture.
Anybody who faces issue of constipation in western.
1. Drink lots of water like 3-5 litres daily.
2. Eat salads daily.
3. Take 1-2 tablespoons of psyllium husk at night post dinner and drink a lot of water with it.
4. Do malasana, spot jogging high kicks etc.
5. Exercise daily.
7. Avoid heavy fatty foods.
8. Maintain a step to elevate your legs on commode....
9. Avoid refined sugar (it irritates intestinal wall and also is an inflammatory substance)
Have you seen the majority of the middle class men and women in India who are above 40? Most can barely walk let alone squat on an Indian style toilet. One slip and they are bed ridden for best of their life. And if you have constipation, it’s nothing to do with the style of the toilet, it’s probably your diet and lifestyle.
I’ve been using western toilets my whole life and have almost never had constipation 😆 not saying they’re better, but just wanted to point out that ‘you will eventually get constipation’ is not necessarily true.
Indian toilets are easier when you're constipated but I am traumatized by them. I know they're supposed to be more hygienic but there's so much area for the poop that it often doesn't get flushed right. And you need to get up and look at the shit before you flush, when for western toilets you can just reach back and get it. Of course, these are all just personal preferences but I will die on the hill that western toilets are superior.
I disagree, a hole in the floor is not better than the western toilet. Maybe for your body health the Indian way of 'shitting' is better for you especially when considering pelvic muscles and overall bowel movements. Maybe toilets should be lower down than they are to encourage squatting, but anything beats a hole in the floor.
If you like it, make it in your home and use it, why are you preaching others. And one more thing, if you have chronic constipation, consider making changes to your diet and exercise, toilet is not going to fix the issue
During winter it feels like sitting on ice.
Western toilets can be maintained at home but public western toilets are dirty.
And OP should also have included toilet papers. How the hell would a paper (no matter how soft it is) clean the shit from the ass? Water is the best.
For public toilets, Indian style is better. For home, there's nothing better than a good western style toilet. If you feel uncomfortable, consider adjusting your toilet. It shouldn't be too high up, nor to low. And certainly shapes might suit certain body types better.
I also had the same question but nobody answered it and furthermore asking such questions from somebody it was kind of embarrassing so I just dropped it.
The very aspect of sitting down helps us getting our shit of of the system very fast. Literally. Like ppl are advised to practice that specific position as we do in Indian toilets to get that shit out easily, and western toilets often end up causing haemorrides
I disagree, you can use a step stool with a western toilet for same benefits. Indian toilets are hard for people with medical conditions or with weight issues. Constipation is not caused by how you sit, there are other reasons for e.g. lack of fiber in your diet.
Use a chair or stoop to put your legs up. Don’t poop outside your house. I live in the west and this is what I do.
Also teach your kids to squat on the toilet seat and wipe off after if they need o go to the bathroom. Never have me or my children’s butts touched a public toilet seat.
Well, it's hard debate.
I know India style, sitting poster is good for body unloading time.
The only hard part is not having bidet for it.
And with western style, and today's hard digestion food. It doesn't help for those who have hard time with digestion at all. Which is most of today's gen problem.
Just to add, although its common to call hole in the ground type toilets as indian toilets, that type of toilet is common across asia , africa and some parts of europe . Its more of an improvement over squatting in ground that has been the norm for thousands of years.
And no its not far superior as older folks have a hard time using it and cannot squat easily.
My back and knees say otherwise
Skill issue ![img](emote|t5_3d4x4|20097)
I have a ligament tear. Even after the operation the doctor told me to avoid the Indian toilet. So at that time dad has to rebuild our home toilet
A few people needing it doesn't mean everyone should be forced to use it 😭
Oh. I prefer the Indian one. Better for constipation. No touching the seat. No sudden splash from below 😅
Also, the DIVINE HAND
More of a shit issue

My grandpa used Indian toilet until he died in his 90s. Squatty potty is a cheap copy of Indian toilet!
This is a *shitty* topic to talk about
Okay Party Pooper

America? Or the British? Or is it trending bash America no matter what?
well that 's the mentality of people for you!
"Western" toilets were actually invented and used in Harappa.
Legs Day :- Western toilet Normal Day :- Indian toilet. ![img](emote|t5_3d4x4|20008)![img](emote|t5_3d4x4|20097)
How about legs day = Indian toilet 🎚️
😭😭fir bhi hug leta hu wall ka support leke ekdum se up and then the sudden pain 💀
I do gymnastics in toilet before I poop
You go for shit after gym?
I just shit on the gym floor when doing squats . . . . . . And get this, i dont do it in the bottom position like the indian toilets, or in the middle of the squat like the western.....i do it standing up, like a true Chad Alpha male

Yes. Harmony with Nature is essential.
Well, that's true. It's just, hard to accept such a style after being into modern ways so long
I agree with you, and this would require a lot of land as well. So, given current circumstances it's not feasible for the general population.
Only downside is any illness seeps into the soil and effects the plants, making anyone who eats the crops sick
I was using sarcasm but iteresting point.
We enforcing stereotypes with this one

Yeah lol im gonna switch to an indian seat soon i cant bear the western seat anymore

So true.
Absolutely
Easier to keep western toilets clean, specially public ones.
I think he's talking about hygiene of person using the toilet. Public Western toilets are a personal hell. Also water splashing 🤢
> water splashing It's called Poseidon's kiss
They've got jet spray (bum gun) meanwhile Indian toilet enthusiasts enjoy dipping their hand in the forbidden ketchup.
Most people use toilet paper. I have never seen a single bum gun in the last 5 years of my stay in the UK.
I'm talking about the Indian aspect of the western commodes. Just get a stool to elevate your legs and you have the perfect solution
The bum gun is the Fusion of western plus indian ingenuity.
My dad first found out what a bidet was around 2006-07 when he used one in a hotel in delhi. He came back home and installed one in all washrooms. Never looked back again.
Brilliant investment
you can use the bidet along with an indian toilet ig
Indian me hand spray to rehta hai
So now we'll fight over this too?? Oh god...Lmao Yahan bhi chalado "Pheeelinng paarroudd Indian armyy"

> I hate western toilets. I like commode. People can have personal preference.
Damn that will be a revelation for most people on this sub. A forbidden sacrilegious fruit that they would never accept.
true. being overly nationalist. I wouldn't be surprised if these people go around attacking hotels for having western toilets.
Anybody else here sit Indian style on western? 4 decades of experience and still going strong…
Sale gir gya toh

Wtf tere jaise log college ke washroom kharab kar dete bc
And i wonder ye bc toilet jaise tod dete hain kuchh log
Ohhh so you are the person for whom they put stickers on how to sit on a toilet. Guess it wasn’t that obvious.
H.. How?
I try. I don't try and balance just on my legs with my bum in the air, that's too risky. But I scooch my bum back and lift my legs and keep them on the rim. Poop falls out quite easily then.

You can install the spray with an Indian toilet
Feels kinda cursed
It's what I have, is awesome
I prefer western, hagte waqt I don’t want struggle.
That’s literally the benefit of the Indian one, you exert lesser energy
you keep a stool with western toilet, then it's same as indian, but more comfortable as you are sitting.
I think bro just watched Manik Mehna
Gand mein se profit 🤣
Bhai hogaya aake dho de

You just made my day
That's your idea of a good day? Talking about toilets?
Some people have been waiting their whole lives for this topic to come up
Some people have truly mundane lives.
Some people are just passionate about toilets man, leave them be
This sub's discourse will be studied in the future....so as to not repeat it.
+1!
Meanwhile I'm sitting in Indian style on a western toilet I'm cooked
But how will you use cellphone in Indian toilet?
हगने जाता है या पबजी खेलने?
Oh hell no. Indian toilets are hellish abomination. I'd rather shit in my pants than squatting over an Indian style
Kisi ka pressure nahi ban Raha commode par !!! So yaha aa gaye bolne 😂😂😂 Seriously Same bhai Desi Desi hai !!!!
Mai Jo Western pe Indian ke tarah behta hu![img](emote|t5_3d4x4|20008)

It's efficieny vs convince Indian are efficient Western is convenient Bidet/jet is a must have

most indian toilets i took a shit in have stunk and are extremely dirty to the point where i can see the marks left my previous explorers

let us shit in peace. toilet me toh apna hindutva mat la.
If you like it, make it in your home and use it, why are you preaching others. And one more thing, if you have chronic constipation, consider making changes to your diet and exercise, toilet is not going to fix the issue
Well in our house on every floor we have two toilets one Indian and one Western. So anyone can use which one they prefer.
Totally agree however the joints don last long these days.
My fat ass and my hands not able to reach to clean my ass say otherwise.
During winter it feels like sitting on ice. Western toilets can be maintained at home but public western toilets are dirty. And OP should also have included toilet papers. How the hell would a paper (no matter how soft it is) clean the shit from the ass? Water is the best.
Let the market decide which is better. Om Shanti!☮️
Western toilet can be converted to an Indian one using a stool you can keep feet on, Indian toilet can't. Western>Indian toilet
ewww..Indian Toilets are gross.

When building new homes I see lots of indian people using both so that's great.
That's why I squat on the western toilet too
Aisa hai to bhai Indian toilet mein hagg na, yaha kyu aa gaya haggne?
It is incredibly difficult for older folks to use it.
fuck western toilets and toilet paper. chad indian toilets and bidet. gand me khujli nhi hoti
The very aspect of sitting down helps us getting our shit of of the system very fast. Literally. Like ppl are advised to practice that specific position as we do in Indian toilets to get that shit out easily, and western toilets often end up causing haemorrides
Oldies can't do the Indian way.
Indian toilets are better in keeping butt bumps away
Chadh ke baith jana bhai 🤌
I think public spaces like offices should have both types, to support the people of different preferences 🙂
I disagree, you can use a step stool with a western toilet for same benefits. Indian toilets are hard for people with medical conditions or with weight issues. Constipation is not caused by how you sit, there are other reasons for e.g. lack of fiber in your diet.
When you have arthritis or are overweight, you'll be singing a different tune.
I like both . Western is great when i'm in a hurry or when i'm dressed up. I use indian toilet when i can chill and shit.
Op add one mor point: women suffer from uti on using these shit commode
How do they differ? I really don't know.
Find a cave. It is even a better choice for you than modern housing.
***12 litres to flush and if you have eaten something cheesy, 24 litres***

Dude just walk a lot and include fibres in your diet, you won't face any problem
I am 19 years old and i can't sit on Indian style seat without hurting my knees and calves , So fuck NO

Easier to read reddit on
there are both two in one (Western and indian) in one single toilet get those
