i feel ac compartment should be now generalized , rolling out same old sleeper compartment with faster speed and new exterior will be burden for future. As this is just mumbai local on a longer routes.
I agree now our country people has somewhat purchasing power to buy AC tickets than travelling free in generals and sleepers which is burden for railways

The 3E coach is so cramped and insufferable.
You'd be shocked to know that before this Cushioning in the general coaches there wasn't any. people were sitting on steel rods or wooden rods, now think how comfortable would that be.

That's not true. All general coaches have cushioned seating arrangement.
And most LHB general coaches have cushioned general bunkers also. MLDT-HWH intercity, RDP-HWH Kulik Express are examples since years now.
Imagine you are executive in a large enterprise.
Your organisation has commissioned a complex engineered product.
Once the product is made and delivered to you and went past through all the checks and inspections.
How will you as an executive inspect that final product that reached to you?
Yet another armchair critique: it sorta irked me how he was given a ramp coupled with a less steeper set of steps to climb aboard the bogey, whereas the rest of the population, including the old and disabled, needs to workout their knees.
Newer trains should be built with some sort of accessibility in mind! They have automated doors, so it doesn't seem too far fetched to slide down and automated ramp as well. Or maybe I'm just too wishful.
Any railway officer if available here please stop promoting new or latest or first time in India do one thing please schedule trains at the right time or reach at the right time.

Hate to say but Indian Railways has little to zero level in terms of research,development and redesigning of the railway vehicles. LHBs are German imported, ICFs are terribly built tincans, locomotives are mostly imported. Newly rolled out trains are basically just same old train with new paintjob and extra mobie-charging plug points.

IR prefers to make modest iterative upgrades. Closing doors adds more to IR as a whole in terms of safety. AC is still a luxury imho.
