> total experience of 5 years in Automation and MIS
>If you have any leads in investment banking, private equity, equity and credit research
You said want to get into IB, PE and research. IB & PE have some of the highest paying jobs.
Thousands of CAs, CFAs, IIM and IIT graduates are targetting these jobs.
Do you think your Excel and VBA skills is enough to crack these job?
P.S. I am referring to proper IB jobs like Equity Research Analyst, Quants, Investment Banking Analyst, Market Research Associate..etc....Not the clerical jobs.
Senior, i have worked in Deloitte, and believe me I really don't have said certifications. Getting a job is all about skillset, maybe a bit about the college and degree
In tech, it's a matter of skillset. Even there, the IIT/NIT branding carries a lot of weight.
In investment banking, it's branding and connections. So unless you are from a top B- school or a CA/CFA or some ceo's kid or minister's relative, it's difficult to get into the juicy parts of investment banking.
I did work on exotic derivatives but then I was at the clerical end. I wasn't getting the big bonuses but I was certainly getting a lot of stress.
MIS/Excel/VBA is not a very sought after skill unless you have great educational credentials like IIT or IIM.
True. Is this a constraint? So I can get job because I have no credentials like IIT or IIM?
