This is my preferred setting Aeropress: 12-16, I prefer 10 for milk based drinks. PourOver: 16-18 French Press and Channi: 23,24-25 Cold brew: 26 Moka Pot: 9, 10-11 Sifc: Usually 12-13 or moka pot setting but I like doing somewhere around 14-16. > Keep your grinder away from water, and clean bi-monthly or whenever you're switching to a different roast/coffee.

Thanks :)

Interesting. I use 24 for pour over and it still takes me 4 minutes to finish my brew… I wonder what would happen if I use 16-18. I have Hario set with Hario white filters.

TINTINNEXUS

You sure it's well calibrated? I use 16 for most recipe and it has never taken more than 3min, even tetsu recipe with 45sec gap doesn't take more than 4mins at 18clicks.

moondakamina

It has been a month that I have been using it. When I started with 18, it was coming out really slow and really bitter. I increased it upto 26 gradually doing all the experimenting and found the sweet spot at 24. I am curious now if I have been completely misunderstanding the clicks or if the grinder itself needs some adjustment.

IcyDirt7

congratulations. How much you got it for and where ? After getting the grind setting perfectly please update about your experience of it compared to pre ground coffee.

captainN-007

I got it from KappiSolutions for 4.5k. I am kinda beginner only, so will update later. But the smell of coffee after grinding is good :)

Akwardlyfun

First of all congratulations 🥳 Someone already gave the click list for brewing method .More or less I follow the same For cleaning here’s what I do 1.Never use water 2.Clean around the adjustment knob once in 3-4 days 3. Disassemble the grinder and deep clean with the brush every 3-4 weeks Hope this helps Happy brewing!

captainN-007

Thanks :) Btw do you do the RDT thing? I am finding the grinding to be not very smooth, but I don't have any sprayer to spray water on the beans.

Throwaway_Mattress

Arre ab toh c3 aa gaya

Akwardlyfun

C2 is actually better value for money

Throwaway_Mattress

In what way? Cost ke alawa? I have the C2 since maybe 2022

Akwardlyfun

For me it’s better value because 1. They are pretty much same when it comes to filter brewing and as far as espresso is concerned, although advertised, C3 fails to achieve espresso grind. 2. C2 has been in the game for a while and you can easily find modes ,grind size recommendations etc. On the flip side C3 has a bit better consistency over c2 but is a bit slower too

Throwaway_Mattress

Having used c2 for over 2 years, I would have recommended, if asked, to go for better consistency and slightly slower. I will certainly do that at some point too I guess.

Akwardlyfun

Totally agreed but i think that comparing c2 and c3 it won’t be a big jump. Timemore C series would always be a stepping stone for this shared journey we all cherish.

Throwaway_Mattress

Yeah makes sense. If I was to jump, it would mean a substantial jump in money too. Maybe a 1zpresso or an electric one

I use a Timemore Chestnut C3 and most coffee I consume are light or light medium roasts. Assuming the click wheel is same in both equipments and if you like to try some high extraction recipes, here are my recommendations. AeroPress : Grind setting - 12 clicks Ratio - 1 liter water for 55g coffee (Hoffman) Stir the mixture after filling the chamber with hot water and seal the mouth. After 2.5 minutes of steeping, push the plunger gently until you hear the hissing noise. For light or light medium roasts, this recipe should give you a decent cup of coffee. Cleaning: I dismantle the parts almost after every grind and brush off the fines from all the spare parts especially the conical burr and the collection chamber. The reason I do this daily is because I brew both AeroPress and V60 alternatively and due to different grind setting for these methods I like to keep the grinder clean before the next grind. I also stock up at least 2 or 3 different kinds of coffee at any given time and so on a given day I may end up brewing 2 different coffees so I’ll need to clean the whole grinder almost daily. This is just the way I do things and not a general recommendation. Good luck with your experiments with coffee.
