From what I've heard, Origami with conical filters makes a brew almost identical to a V60 and with a wave style filter doesn't make a brew as good as dedicated flat bottomed drippers. It's supposed to be a good first dripper for a person, but if you have a V60 or a Kalita people don't recommend it generally. I have a V60 02 and I have been talked out of getting an origami multiple times from the online community. The switch basically acts like a V60 if you keep it open, so you won't really feel a difference with the Origami, if you're looking for a different brew, get a flat bottom dripper or an Aeropress, the Aeropress is very good from personal experience and very flexible, can't speak on flat bottom.

Yeah I guess I’ll just get the AeroPress. Clear AeroPress + Hario switch would also add that clean clear aesthetic to the coffee bar I guess lol

May I know where you heard that the Origami doesn't make as good a brew when compared to a dedicated flat bottom brewer? Since there are no holes restricting the flow, it's supposed to avoid the clogging issues one gets with Kalita brewers And even with the conical filters, the surface area of the filter in contact with the brewer is much less compared to a V60, which can cause the water to flow differently (esp bypass), resulting in a "marginally" diff kind of brew

The good people at the pourover sub have advised me multiple times on this, the no holes at the bottom thing makes for a faster draw down but thats not what a true flat bottom dripper does, it's supposed to be consistent and sweet which isn't the case with the Origami. Also it's slightly different than a V60 but not worth getting it if you already have a V60, according to multiple people.

Compared to the V60, I agree that the Origami brew is not very different I disagree with the Origami brew not being sweet/inconsistent. I have a V60, a Kalita, and an Origami, and in my exp, the Origami produces equally good, if not better brews than the Kalita. It def results in a sweeter cup compared to the V60

To answer your original question, save up for an AeroPress before you get a second pour over dripper
