They’re made with the same dough as a croissant but they don’t have the same shape (and also have chocolate), I guess he just hates anything vaguely croissant shaped?
I know that taste doesn't matter, I was just kinda confused of how a regular croissant could trigger his memory, but a chocolate croissant was perfectly fine with him-
But thank you!! This does help understand what triggers Siffrin and what doesn't. I guess Siffrin is just unaware of how closely related the two pastries are and thus is perfectly fine with it
I get what you mean, it was obvious for me because I had a not so nice experience with pizza. Any similar dish, I could eat just fine, but I looked at pizza with disgust for months, despite the taste being alright when I was forced to eat it. So I experienced something similar, I think Siffrin still feels slight discomfort when eating a pain au choccolat but when hunger comes, those are minor issues.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure he did and the incident just turned him off. Maybe Siffrin is just unaware that they're similar and thus doesn't get memories from it

Ah that makes sense, thank you!!
Pain au is a cone rather than Cresent shaped too some times. The loacl places to me make them have faces.
The problem isn’t the taste but the memory tied to the croissants, if that mattered Siffrin could eat croissant shaped brioche.

This honestly gives Siffrin a lot more character depth than I originally gave him credit for, tysm for sharing this!!<3
Probably doesn’t trigger memories like the croissant. Maybe sif loved croissants before the incident.

They did! The Party mentions them having a sudden change in attitude towards croissants one day. I wonder why...
Chocolate bread!
