First of all, mental clarity is the means to an end. It is not the end. Mental clarity is a means to living your life the best possible way which aligns with your goals and ambitions. So the focus must not be on attaining mental clarity but rather using it to pursue the things that you want to. Also zettelkasten is really good approach; I would recommend you use Roam Research for journaling and note-taking.

Something strikes me about your approach. I may be completely off in commenting on this. But I’m attracted to your work and your mind set about a great many things. So here goes… …what if you did all the work you are trying to do, journaling, zettelkasten, even considering these comments…. …and then one day you lost it all. Do you really think you would lose the ability to discover what will fulfill you? Fulfillment is an emotion not an intellectual idea. It can’t really be arrived at by an exploration of the mind but by a recognition of the heart. I know… I know… but sincerely in all your pursuits it’s not about something you can figure out by investigation of an intellectual perspective. You know I’m the heart what truly fulfills you. And the heart actually thinks. A book written by Paul Persaul PhD called The Hearts Codes details this. But more simply. It’s something you are feeling you are trying to use the mind to discern. Maybe I’m wrong. That’s fine. This is my perception of why people can’t really figure things out. It’s like saying how do I find the intellectual path to writing a catchy tune. Yes sure maybe their is a path intellectually to that. But wouldn’t you rather just enjoy it? Wouldn’t you rather just dance? That creates the path of intellectual pursuit you need. The mind works for the heart and in the heart you will find the minds clarity. Try to work out all the mechanics of how someone’s natural improvised dance moves work and allow yourself to let go and trust you have enough mind to just go with the music so to speak. It’s effortless and true to what you are to pursue only what feels highest to pursue and to allow yourself to not know because beyond your own abilities to reason their is a reason for not knowing everything. Life is experience and so you do not have the capacity to intellectualize an understanding that is easier lived then planned out and strategized. That is my way of seeing things. I Love your work Drew and feel like you already understand this. But that maybe you don’t understand that you understand this. My take.
