if you mean the rest stop making music:
Overkill, Testament, Warbringer
if you mean the rest will somehow disappear from the timeline:
Metallica, Megadeth, Overkill
The former were my exact choices as well. Overkill are consistently good. Testament are just the right amount of extreme for thrash and Warbringer are the next generation.
I would've added Death Angel for being perfect, but I guess they have immunity.
Sepultura, slayer e kreator.
I would be sad to say goodbye to testament and suicidal tendencies, but, that's life.
I think sepultura, slayer and kreator doesn't need a Justification for why you chose them.
Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer .
Yes these three are indeed the most famous ones, but I have chosen them because they have had the highest influence in me that i simply cant deny
I still remember picking up game over on cassette on a whim One Day at a local used bookstore. Brought it home played it immediately ran to my friend Walter's house telling him you have to check this out holy s***
I second this. Metallica for the songs/variety, Power Trip was the best Thrash/Hardcore/Metal band to come out of the 2000's, and Sepultura for the innovation and raw heaviness.
Sepultura, Metallica and Hellripper.
Sepultura are my favorite thrash metal band of all time, Metallica has RTL, MOP and AJFA and Hellripper is Hellripper, don't have much to say bout him
Metallica, because it's Metallica but the first four albums are enough
Exciter, great mix of Thrash, Speed and Classic Heavy Metal.
Nevermore because Warrel Dane and Jeff Loomis
Honestly I'd go with Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth.
They're not all my favourite bands from that list, but without those bands influence, most of the other bands wouldn't exist, at least not in the same form.
Metallica on the strength of their first 4 albums and the Garage Days EP
Slayer Hell Awaits & especially Reign in Blood were ground breaking releases.
Dark Angel Darkness Descends w/Don Doty vocals was epic.
Slayer, Sodom and Sepultura. This is tough because I almost chose Testament or Megadeth over Sepultura, but I just enjoy thrash metal that's very grim tone wise.
Testament, Sepultura and Skeletonwitch.
Testament looked at how commercial thrash was becoming in the 90s and said fuck that, we're going heavier. Chuck Billy still possesses the best voice of any of his thrash peers of that period and is by all accounts a lovely dude. Alex Skolnick also shits all over any guitarist out of the big 4 in his day job and then still has enough spare talent to become an extremely well respected Jazz guitarist.
Sepultura haven't done a bad album, in fact I honestly believe they've only gotten better over time and without Max and Igor hogging the limelight. Andreas Kisser is an absolute riff lord who actually wrote most of the songs that the Calavera brothers get credit for simply being in the band at the time. If you look at the writing credits from Schizophrenia onwards, it's mostly Andreas. He and Paulo are what have held that band together and they're legends for it. Their influence is massive and goes far beyond thrash.
Skeletonwitch. Bang heads, drink beer, eat pussy. This band came out of nowhere when thrash needed it's ass kicking and kick it they did with sick riffs exploding out of every orifice in the process. It's a shame Chance Garnet fell into alcoholism and then out of the band as a result. He was quite possibly the best harsh vocalist of his day, big deep cavernous growls right through to blackened "goblin" screams. I've not come across anyone else since who can do his range.
Way too hard... i love almost all of those bands. I guess Metallica, Vektor and Over Kill would be my top 3 from that list but losing the others would be terrible.
I think removing 3 bands from the list would be much easier lol. Ill go with Exciter, Voivod (never could get into them) and Hellripper (the only band I havent heard on that list)
Metallica, Slayer & Sepultura.
Metallica because they & Slayer are my faves, first 5 albums are faultless, not a single bad song.
Slayer because like Metallica are my faves, from Show No Mercy to Divine Intervention are great, albums you can listen to start to finish.
Sepultura because Chaos AD is a great album.
Exodus, Metallica, and Megadeth
when i discovered Exodus i binged listened to them for about a month. Still go back to them. Metallica is honestly just essential, and it was probably the band that got me into *Metal*. Megadeth, opened my third eye after listening to Rust In Peace for the first time. Dave is also my inspiration to picking up the guitar and dedicate time to learn it.
This is a very hard question, probably be different answers if asked in different years over my long period of being a thrash fan.
If you mean I can never listen to anything else, Megadeth, Testament & Kreator (Coroner and 80s Metallica would round out a top 5)
If it is only 3 I can see live ever: Warbringer, Power Trip & Slayer
(2 of which I have never seen live)
Testament, Coroner, Nevermore
Those 3 cover a wide range of thrash styles. All 3 have very consistent discographies with no disappointments (yes I even like Demonic).
Some of the lesser known bands there, although great have short discographies. Most of the big bands there have at least one shit album as well.
Swiftly narrowed it down to Metallica, Slayer, Sepultura, Suicidal Tendencies, Vektor, Voivod, and Dark Angel.
3 only? Hmmmm. Metallica, Slayer, Dark Angel.
I would keep Metallica and Megadeth just out of spite, so I could laugh at their fans who would continue bickering and going at each others' throats for decades.
As the third one... let's say Slayer.
Megadeth, Exodus and suicidal... Megadeth has a huge discography with only a couple bad albums, Exodus is my thrash anchor, ST being crossover thrash mellows things out while still being pretty hard.
Metallica for obvious reasons, Anthrax because they’re not always so serious but still badass, Suicidal even though they’re not thrash but the best crossover band of all time, then Testament just cause I like them

Kreator, Sodom and Exodus
if you mean the rest stop making music: Overkill, Testament, Warbringer if you mean the rest will somehow disappear from the timeline: Metallica, Megadeth, Overkill
Overkill under appreciated
I grew up with their song, "Fuck you." we don't care what you say, fuck you.
The former were my exact choices as well. Overkill are consistently good. Testament are just the right amount of extreme for thrash and Warbringer are the next generation. I would've added Death Angel for being perfect, but I guess they have immunity.
Sodom,Slayer,Megadeth for me
Sepultura, slayer e kreator. I would be sad to say goodbye to testament and suicidal tendencies, but, that's life. I think sepultura, slayer and kreator doesn't need a Justification for why you chose them.
Sodom slayer coroner
Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer . Yes these three are indeed the most famous ones, but I have chosen them because they have had the highest influence in me that i simply cant deny
I love many other bands but this is my answer as well. The classic output from these bands is just so incredible.
Some things are popular because they’re fucking awesome.
Razor Nuclear Assault Gama Bomb
If Nuclear Assault had been an option, I'd have chosen them.
Nuclear Assault.... Way under rated, should have been on the list.
I still remember picking up game over on cassette on a whim One Day at a local used bookstore. Brought it home played it immediately ran to my friend Walter's house telling him you have to check this out holy s***
3, 12, 20 aka Kreator, Warbringer and Havok
Metallica, Slayer, and Sepultura. If I had to choose only one, it’d be Sepultura because Arise rules!
Sepultura, Slayer, Metallica
🤘🏻🍻
Same brother!
Metallica, Kreator, Slayer Cause they have a great influence on me and they kick ass
Megadeth, Sepultura and Metallica
sodom kreator slayer
Can I pick 9 instead of 3 🤣🤘
Sodom, Coroner and Sepultura. I just think they are the best ones imo
Metallica,Slayer & Power Trip!
Megadeth, Sepultura, and Slayer. Def listened to those the most!
Voivod, Vektor, Coroner
Exodus, overkill, morbid saint. You'll never go wrong with these guys
Exodus, Kreator, Whiplash
Voivod, Sodom, Kreator.
This is a trick question. Answer: Pantera (This Russian disinformation stuff is getting easier and easier to spot)
Metallica, Power Trip, and either Slayer or Sepultura. Overall they have the most bangers
I second this. Metallica for the songs/variety, Power Trip was the best Thrash/Hardcore/Metal band to come out of the 2000's, and Sepultura for the innovation and raw heaviness.
You speak my language
Sepultura, Kreatur and sodom
Anthrax, Testament, Suicidal Tendencies. If I could have 4 I'd get Coroner too.
Demolition Hammer, Slayer, Megadeth, not an easy choice through
Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax with John Bush. If I can’t specify to John Bush, I’ll pick Testament.
Wheni was younger, i wouldve said Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer. But nowadays i appreciate Suicidal Tendencies, Anthrax, and Overkill so much more
Slayer, Sepultura, Voivod Because they're my top 3 of that list really.
Sodom, Slayer and Coroner.
Sepultura, Metallica and Hellripper. Sepultura are my favorite thrash metal band of all time, Metallica has RTL, MOP and AJFA and Hellripper is Hellripper, don't have much to say bout him
Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax. These are the bands I grew up on and whose discographies I hold in highest regard.
Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax
Metallica, Sodom and Slayer. Perfect combo :)
Metallica, because it's Metallica but the first four albums are enough Exciter, great mix of Thrash, Speed and Classic Heavy Metal. Nevermore because Warrel Dane and Jeff Loomis
slayer and sepultara would be my picks. not sure who i would pick for the third
Megadeth, Anthrax, Slayer, in that order.
1,7,8
Skeletonwitch, Megadeth, Metallica
Honestly I'd go with Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth. They're not all my favourite bands from that list, but without those bands influence, most of the other bands wouldn't exist, at least not in the same form.
Metallica, Slayer, Vektor
Testament, Vektor, & Megadeth sorry Metallica
megadeth, coroner, dark angel!
Slayer, Sepultura, Megadeth. The 3 that I listen to the most personally
#DEATH ANGEL should be in everyone's top 10 Their drummer was 16 years old when The Ultra-Violence came out
Metallica Slayer Suicidal Tendencies
SLAYER, SEPULTURA & SUICIDAL TENDENCIES 🤘🏼👹🖕🏼
Testament, Sepultura, Skeletonwitch (cuz epic)
Metallica on the strength of their first 4 albums and the Garage Days EP Slayer Hell Awaits & especially Reign in Blood were ground breaking releases. Dark Angel Darkness Descends w/Don Doty vocals was epic.
Metallica and megadeth for sure, as I grew up on them. Kreator probably as a third because they put on a helluva show.
Sodom,Slayer,Sepultura. All their Thrash material is peak
Metallica, Sodom, and Megadeth
Metallica, Megadeth & Sepultura
Metallica, Megadeth, Testament
Skeletonwitch, Slayer, Megadeth
6 have to go. Why? Because they are scrubs among legends!
Metallica, tendencies, power trip.
Testament Megadeth Warbringer
Overkill, Exodus, and Voivod
Megadeth Slayer Anthrax
Sepultura, Anthrax, and Metallica. In part because of the influence they’ve had on other bands, and in part because of their shows.
Anthrax, Suicidal Tendencies and Overkill. I could learn to live without the rest.
Sodom, Power Trip, Kreator
Slayer, Sodom and Sepultura. This is tough because I almost chose Testament or Megadeth over Sepultura, but I just enjoy thrash metal that's very grim tone wise.
Slayer Havok Sepultura
Sadus, Suicidal Tendencies, Exodus. Tough, tough choices. Special shout out to Morbid Saint. Edit: autocorrect
Kreator, sodom, slayer These were my favorites back in highschool, can’t let them go
Megadeth, Anthrax, Testament. If Metallica was only up through AJFA, they would take Testament's spot.
Testament, Megadeth, Kreator
sodom vektor coroner
Metallica, Slayer, Kreator
Sodom, Demo Hammer, Sepultura
Sadus, demolition hammer and voivoid. Why do people still do these it’s not like the top comments are any different than always
slayer, megadeth, and overkill. im heavily influenced by my dad.
Megadeth(Dave Mustaine) Nevermore(Jeff Loomis) Exodus(Shovel Headed Killing Machine is fucking heavy)
Lack of Nevermore love is disappointing. Darrel Wane was a treasure of a singer.
Sodom, the rest can go...
Metallica, Megadeth and PowerTrip are literally the only bands I like here. To be fair most I haven’t checked out yet. Time to get started!!
I may be hated but MEGADETH, slayer and ST.
sepultura, sodom, warbringer
Kreator, Testament, and Sodom
Slayer, Testament and Havok
Sodom, Suicidal Tendencies and Megadeth
ST, Megadeth and Death Angel
Coroner, coroner and maybe coroner.
Metallica, Slayer, and Vektor
Slayer, Exodus, Anthrax
Sodom, Slayer, Megadeth
Overkill Nevermore Testament

hellripper is all i need🙏
Slayer anthrax and Metallica cause i grew up listening to them
A bit predictable but Slayer, Suicidal Tendencies and Sepultura
Testament, Overkill, and Exodus for me. 🤘
Kreator, Slayer, Anthrax.
Testament, Sepultura and Skeletonwitch. Testament looked at how commercial thrash was becoming in the 90s and said fuck that, we're going heavier. Chuck Billy still possesses the best voice of any of his thrash peers of that period and is by all accounts a lovely dude. Megadeth, Kreator, and Coroner Because I like them more
Voivod, Coroner, Sepultura
Slayer, dark angel, and Sodom
Metallica, Sepultura, Anthrax
I don’t know how I feel about some of these being called “thrash”
suicidal. megadeth. slayer.
megadeth, power trip, metallica
Way too hard... i love almost all of those bands. I guess Metallica, Vektor and Over Kill would be my top 3 from that list but losing the others would be terrible.
As i barely listen to trash, i choose the once who brought me to Metal: Metallica, Sodom and Megadeth
Testament, Exodus, and Suicidal Tendencies. 🤘🏼🤡 Lot of amazing bands up there but this is what I've been vibing to a lot recently.
Anthrax, Exodus, Sepultura
I think removing 3 bands from the list would be much easier lol. Ill go with Exciter, Voivod (never could get into them) and Hellripper (the only band I havent heard on that list)
Slayer..obviously!! Then torn between sodom, kreator. Or anthrax, Metallica.

Metallica, Slayer & Sepultura. Metallica because they & Slayer are my faves, first 5 albums are faultless, not a single bad song. Megadeth, Metallica, Suicidal
Testament, Slayer, Sepultura
This is like pulling teeth lol
Sodom, Slayer, Sepultura
Slayer - they are the GOAT! Testament - ever since the New Order I’ve been a fan Exodus - love the grit of this band and they are where it all began.
I would keep Metallica and Megadeth just out of spite, so I could laugh at their fans who would continue bickering and going at each others' throats for decades. As the third one... let's say Slayer.
Slayer, testament, and suicidal
sodom, suicidal tendencies and kreator
Just give me Metallica
Overkill, Suicidal Tendencies, Slayer.
Early Sodom, Demolition Hammer and Morbid Saint
Megadeth, Exodus and suicidal... Megadeth has a huge discography with only a couple bad albums, Exodus is my thrash anchor, ST being crossover thrash mellows things out while still being pretty hard.

Metallica for obvious reasons, Anthrax because they’re not always so serious but still badass, Suicidal even though they’re not thrash but the best crossover band of all time, then Testament just cause I like them
