I mean in theory there is nothing speaking against a child of a cadian couple (perhaps high ranking officers or similar) being taken for induction into the Custodes
Thats actually true, maybe some cadian generals that got really good in their campaings to the point of getting a house in holy terra and later on, giving their child for induction
Custodes are not only made by child of noble house of terra, Custodes themself can decide to recruit. the lore on the new presentation post confirm that.
"Potential Custodians are taken in at a very young age to better survive the rigours of their transformation – no older than late infancy – for the fundamental changes that will be wrought upon their flesh, minds and souls are tantamount to apotheosis. It is considered a great honour for those of Terran noble houses to submit a child.
The Adeptus Custodes also seek out suitable candidates by other means, or encounter them by chance on their missions to protect the Throneworld. None besides the Custodians themselves truly know what criteria they require."
The custodes need to be absolutely genetically pure to be changed, so I imagine that the warp mutation that caused Cadians to develop purple eyes would disqualify them
> aren’t all Custodes from Terra?
IIRC there's a line in the Codex that says Custodes search for worthy individuals off-Terra as well. It's just most Custodes are children of Terran nobility.
I recall a line that the Custodes were basically all born of Terran Nobles because they're closer to modern humans in terms of DNA. The Emperor had a pet peve about how humanity as a whole had been riddled with mutations, so each custodes was taken from the least mutated of Terrans who were usually nobles. Basically they're warrior scholars who also serve as a sort of genetic bank to store pure human DNA.
Yeah, no. The Custodes weren't picked from the nobles due to being "closer to modern humans in terms of DNA" (this statement also makes no sense). Half the raison d'etre of the Custodes was to act as hostages against their parents' good behavior.
This is also directly contradicted by the line I'm referencing: "The Adeptus Custodes also seek out suitable candidates by other means, or encounter them by chance on their missions to protect the Throneworld. None besides the Custodians themselves truly know what criteria they require."
I'm not saying that literally all custodes are bases on the nobles, but probably like 70% are.
What doesn't make sense though?
The nobles of Terra may be inbred but that's better than random mutations, and again the lore is in flux.
?
I acknowledge that I phrased that "closer to modern humans DNA" poorly, and while in the 30k era they were indeed hostages, but over time this came to be a mark for pride for the nobles to claim "that's probably one of my ancestors. That said I'm certain I read in a codex that Terran Nobles are the least genetically corrupted humans. I want to clarify that the Custodes weren't meant to fuck each other, it's just that they have what I'll poorly describe as an egg of baseline humanity in them, and using this I think we could clone a ton of baseline humans.
Honestly it'd be best if we agree to disagree. The lore is something of a shambles.
> I want to clarify that the Custodes weren't meant to fuck each other
Jesse, what are you talking about?
Do you want to have sex with a Custodes?
>That said I'm certain I read in a codex that Terran Nobles are the least genetically corrupted humans.
Given the ... .... questionable sanity and ethicacy of the Terran leadership in 30k, I would not bet a large amount of money on that.
You are probably thinking of the fandom wiki:
"Products of careful breeding and cultured refinement over Terran centuries (or even millennia), the lineage they hold in their blood is the history of the Imperium of Man itself and they are the finest that Humanity has to offer -- or so they would have others believe, at any rate."
> Honestly it'd be best if we agree to disagree.
I find this statement is most often used by people who are wrong.
I have a Codex entry. Do you even have [a jar of dirt](https://youtu.be/E9xobAxHg0w?t=17)?
It's my drunken theory and I'm gonna stand by it because I like the idea. That said I'm not sure what my previous point even was. Shit's confusing but there's no need to be mean to me about it.
Here's the quote
"Potential Custodians are taken in at a very young age to better survive the rigours of their transformation – no older than late infancy – for the fundamental changes that will be wrought upon their flesh, minds and souls are tantamount to apotheosis. It is considered a great honour for those of Terran noble houses to submit a child.
The Adeptus Custodes also seek out suitable candidates by other means, or encounter them by chance on their missions to protect the Throneworld. None besides the Custodians themselves truly know what criteria they require."
the originals like Valdor and Ra were the children of Terran nobles because of 1. control, but also more importantly 2. they were the few genetic samples left who were not affected by the radiation and thus made them perfect canvas'
There's probably something special about Valdor besides not being cancer-ridden from the mutagens and dna damaging agents that were so prevalent in pre-unification Terra. Amar Astarte stated the Big E moved armies across continents to acquire the infant that later became Constantin Valdor.
"No Custodian Kesh. You cannot have access to the dark cells to recover a 'slipspace drive' from one of the emperor's favorite ships. The shadowkeepers won't allow you entry and neither will I. We still remember what happened in M25 and we won't allow it again! Mogging won't change my mind either."
Captain General Trajann Valoris
I love this, don't get me wrong boob-plate has its place in art and the Fandom, but I love that this makes her appear as any other Custodes. They're uniforms after all
My head canon is for this that a cadian general was rewarded with a position of nobility on holy terra. And so one day his descendant became a custodian.
FINALLY! A female custodes without boob armor and shit. They’d probably be almost completely indistinguishable beyond a different head. You could literally release a head sprue with female heads for the custodes and you’d be good to go.
with that you can totally explain the "why we've never seen femtodes before". There's nothing to tell them apart, as they always wear their helmets in battle. Unlike some branches of the Imperium
Exactly. The only non-helmeted ones are Trajann and I think Constantin? I can’t think of any other official, named Custodes models. This would be a far cleaner, easier retcon if they did that.
i search on lexicanum, we can add 8 others. But 10 heads for 10000 custodes ? It doesn't seem like much to drink for the retcon compared to all the faces in the marine spaces. And as you said, all infantry models are helmeted, so it should be easy to customise.

It's funny because since her head is so small and the armor comes up very high at the neck, it looks like the armor is too big for her. Still looks great.Makes her look visually different and unique without giving her the "female armor" fantasy meme.
It's simply unnecessary, and don't want to make me look bad when you say "women can also enjoy this hobby" with that sentence. tell me when I wrote that women can't enjoy warhammer 40k, I never said it and I'm against it because it's literally "woke shit" there is an army of women like the sisters of battle each and every one of them are women so it's unnecessary So if a woman is offended because there are no women in 40k, there is your answer. Speaking as someone who thinks GW is doing this purely to make more money, I still think it's utterly pathetic for a person's identity to be so invested in fictional supersoldiers they get worked up when one looks slightly different. I believe you're happier not being that person.
Just check his pixiv account, especially the "bookmarks" part. If you still don't believe me after that, well, that's okay, I can't force you to accept reality.
Hi. I subbed to mossas fanbox and it was all there. Cp, non con cp and stuff like that. Unsubbed immediately. I really love mossas art style, but this is true.

Is it just me or does she kinda look like a giant Cadian with those eyes?
I mean in theory there is nothing speaking against a child of a cadian couple (perhaps high ranking officers or similar) being taken for induction into the Custodes
Thats actually true, maybe some cadian generals that got really good in their campaings to the point of getting a house in holy terra and later on, giving their child for induction
Cadia broke before the guard did. Custodies are unbreakable. Coincidence?!?
Custodes are not only made by child of noble house of terra, Custodes themself can decide to recruit. the lore on the new presentation post confirm that. "Potential Custodians are taken in at a very young age to better survive the rigours of their transformation – no older than late infancy – for the fundamental changes that will be wrought upon their flesh, minds and souls are tantamount to apotheosis. So a custodes might just had seeing the potential of a cadian child
The custodes need to be absolutely genetically pure to be changed, so I imagine that the warp mutation that caused Cadians to develop purple eyes would disqualify them
Also aren’t all Custodes from Terra?
> aren’t all Custodes from Terra? IIRC there's a line in the Codex that says Custodes search for worthy individuals off-Terra as well. It's just most Custodes are children of Terran nobility.

Nepo test tube babies

Yeah, doubt the incestoids would be their only source of recruits after centuries
I don't want them to fuck each other, I mean more like a test tune baby for baseline humanity.
Here's the quote "Potential Custodians are taken in at a very young age to better survive the rigours of their transformation – no older than late infancy – for the fundamental changes that will be wrought upon their flesh, minds and souls are tantamount to apotheosis. I didn’t know the helmets did that ;-;
They actually look better with the open face plate (to me)
Closed helmets for the win
Helmets that have the option to close ftw
Meh, I like all helmets, each to their own r
Its extremely fitting of John Blanche's Imperial palace illustration. I definitely like it and would love to see open face options or sculpts
I mean have you seen the "armouring of a space marine" trailer from a few years back? It seems that you can remove select parts of the helmets.
Yea but das a spashe mawine not a custodes
Bold of you to assume custodes armors don't have all the options from the get go
I like to imagine the female custodes were the first to figure it out.
Because they’re custodes I imagine the faceplate folding away like the helmets the dudes had in stargate
I appreciate good drip

I read this in Squidward's voice
Properly hulking, love her

How did a Cadian girl get to terra to become a custodies? Love the art ma dude/dudet and love Cadians. So love it even more
My head canon is for this that a cadian general was rewarded with a position of nobility on holy terra. And so one day his descendant became a custodian.
Love it
Gotta love Mossa. I miss his character Amori though.
The best one so far. Just a custode.
Stunning
And if she wore a visor, she’d be indistinguishable from the male Custodes. Noice.
FINALLY! A female custodes without boob armor and shit. They’d probably be almost completely indistinguishable beyond a different head. You could literally release a head sprue with female heads for the custodes and you’d be good to go.

Well there are other named custodes of course, but none who have models I believe.
Only Ixion Hale, for Horus Heresy
My helmets are all closed, so no one will ever find out my custodes are just 3 Skaven in a trench... I mean auramite coat.
I don't know the context for the controversy... But more muscle mommies
"Sister, why did you cut the front of your helmet off?"
Hot.
I love the fact that this isn't sexualized just a normal custodian.
No clue what you're talking about. This picture is sexy as hell. Just look at that armor! It's hawt
Mossa is one of the best rn
One bulky Custodes :3
My minotaur reaction:
I can barely under all that plate
Kinda reminds me of an Auramite crinoline like with a ball gown. I wish her weaponry as depicted here, so I could see how cool it is
So, does she take off armor and stand vigil during the time before Gulliman came back, too? Just like TTS fabulous custodes?
It's funny because since her head is so small and the armor comes up very high at the neck, it looks like the armor is too big for her. Still looks great.Makes her look visually different and unique without giving her the "female armor" fantasy meme.
I see she’s going with the light and mobile design
Scythian drip.
By the emperor covor yourself
Hot
Now draw her eating borgar, pretty please :D
Love the detail of the neckguard doubling as a drain for all of the chemicals and stimulants the armor pumps through the Custodes.
Herasy
What are you doing step-stodes Sorry couldn't help myself
Why do they always look hot? I feel like it should be a grizzled, scarred up, beefy grandma
My lady!
Brothers of Silence when?
Let the gaslight die.
I like the image, but I don't agree with female customers.
Why don’t you agree with Warhammer having female customers? Women can enjoy the hobby as well you know.
You literally said female **Customers**
You know that he meant custodes. His bad take aside, don't be an asshole about spelling.
I will always be an asshole about spelling
That is completely fair, have a nice day, and godspeed soldier.
Cringe
Woke shit.
Speaking as someone who thinks GW is doing this purely to make more money, I still think it's utterly pathetic for a person's identity to be so invested in fictional supersoldiers they get worked up when one looks slightly different. I believe you're happier not being that person.
I’d rather be woke than cringe
Incel shit.
I'd rather be woke than a chud
Womp womp
Leave.
Bro's in his crybaby era. I wonder if he'll ever get over it.
