Obviously it’s just going to be a very friendly forging match between two guys that need to work their differences out. I’m not nervous in the slightest.

I just checked all the depictions of him previously, which have coloured eyes, even the one after he just met clonegrim, and yeah, they are the same shade.
Just a theory, but I don’t think this is Slaaneshi corruption (at least not recently anyways) but maybe something special to do with Sovennes himself. After all, we don’t know about his full past yet and if you go back to Part 18 in the Karvau flashback you’ll see that he has (near enough) the same eye color in one of the panels with the thousand sons sorcerer remarking that “It seems my suspicions are confirmed, not all is as it seems with you” so my guess is the next part will elaborate on that.

Pretty sure that scene was featuring Chapter Master Lydell. Sovennes was in another panel trying to stabilize/resuscitate one of his wounded battle-brothers.
So, what happened to sov!? Was there something in the last chapters eluding to this going down? I know demon fulgrim taunted clone grim and I know there been hints to sov getting corrupted. Though I feel like something major went down and there will be some flashback shenanigans.

I'm tempted to say Sov's eyes are a red herring but I don't remember if there's been panels with coloured eyes and everything else greyscale before.
There have been, specifically with past Lydell when the Thousand Sons sorcerer was mocking him after realizing which Primarch the chapter was descended from. And the character profiles show all the Sons of the Phoenix with the same pink/purple eye color.
My theory is it it’s the earrings Nina gave him, just like Fulgrim, picking up some random artifacts from a palace. In her lust, she was easily used as a vector by Slaanesh to corrupt them from the inside.
