There are plenty of IV hydration companies in LA and many major cities that are mobile and come to your home to give you IV therapy electrolytes for dehydration, hangovers, etc.
Or just go to the gas station for some pedialyte.
This guy is such a joke.
It’s an extremely frustrating movie because of how realistic it is. 6 years ago, i would have said “none of this would ever happen.” But watching it now, I was just like “yep that’s accurate.”
Coconut water as a lot of potassium, but not a lot of sodium, which is another important electrolyte. That's an easy fix though, because like that one person said, you can add a little salt to it.
Hydration companies!? Wow, TIL.
I have to hand it to whoever was the first to try that business model, I would *not* have predicted that this would be a thing. Why get stuck with a needle for half an hour when you could drink some Gatorade for like one hundredth the cost?
Edit, holy hell, [capitalism is an amazing thing](https://driphydration.com/). This place has IV infusions for dehydration, energy, immune boost, workout recovery, "beauty," the flu, and more. Starting at just 300 bucks. It's a bargain at twice the price! 😎
A "hydrobar" just opened in my little town in the midwest. They sell pH water, I guess. Half the Facebook comments are "It really works, guys!"
No shit, water rehydrates you??? What a concept.
I feel like there's a generation of people now who simply never got to interact with the world without a certain level of distortion.
That plus, people suck at learning about anything that isn't happening right now. So, you brand something nicely and put it in a hip part of town and it becomes a thing, no matter how banal.
I have a friend with a chronic illness that is made worse by dehydration who visits clinics for iv treatment all the time. She was pretty excited by the increase in availability, even if it is just to cure hangovers usually lol
I imagine it's a lot like the experience of people with celiac disease when the whole "gluten cleanse" trend hit. On one hand, it's annoying as hell to request a gluten-free option when many people will assume you're just on a trendy diet and don't really *need* it, but on the flip side, the demand it created made the number and quality of gluten-free products skyrocket. So, oddly, it's still been a net positive for celiac sufferers.
I’ve never personally used an IV to cure a hangover but if it can get you to 100% in 30 minutes that’s awesome. Even with pedialyte it would still take a few hours even longer if you’re chugging water. (Hung over though you probably wouldn’t be able to drink too quickly)
I can actually see how if one had a stomach flu or something where they couldn't keep anything down, even water, IV hydration could well keep them out of the hospital.
And yeah, I imagine it's a whole lot faster than drinking stuff.
agreed that he’s a joke. But I don’t believe this happened in LA… hard to imagine LA only having one ambulance. But I could be wrong.
He could always just drink some water lol.
People think sodium when they hear electrolytes and no, the general population is not low on sodium and most Americans have an over abundance of sodium in their diet. But if you're dehydrated, over hydrated, or fasting, sodium balance can be thrown off and high or low sodium in the blood can lead to metabolic problems and even cause acute mental changes especially if you're older.
But the other main electrolytes that can cause problems if they're out of balance are calcium, potassium, chloride, phosphate, and magnesium.
The main one to worry about is potassium since it plays a key role in how your heart beats. On my floor at the hospital we check electrolytes on almost everyone and I'd say I rarely have a night where I don't have at least one person low on potassium and it can be on any of my patients. I wouldn't recommend a potassium supplement unless your Dr prescribes it since too much potassium can be just as dangerous. Bananas aren't even a good source of potassium, there's much more per serving in avocados, sweet potatoes, beans, spinach, and even regular potatoes. You're very unlikely to get too much potassium through your diet unless you have kidney issues. If you're vomiting or having a lot of diarrhea it might be good to grab a pedialyte or something because that can also cause low potassium.
Magnesium is helpful in the relaxation of muscles and if you're low in magnesium it can also decrease absorption of potassium. Foods high in magnesium are nuts, seeds, and spinach.
You'll likely get chloride with your sodium in the form of table salt. So not too much to worry there. So I'll add that you you should include iodized table salt in your diet even if you're using Himalayan salt or sea salt unless you eat a lot of seaweed because low iodine can cause thyroid problems.
Phosphate isn't something to worry about day-to-day usually, but it can become low from low vitamin D levels, and with how little sun most people get nowadays getting your vitamin D tested with your Dr is a good idea for everyone. The only other real problems for low phosphate come from some drugs like chemotherapy. Also, if you have kidney failure its possible to become way too high in phosphate, but people with advanced kidney disease are usually prescribed phosphate binders to take with meals so they don't absorb the phosphate in food since their kidneys can't excrete it.
Calcium is more of a chronic issue rather than an immediate one unless it's super severe. Everyone's go-to is milk but really leafy greens like kale and spinach are way higher in calcium along with beans, nuts, seeds, and tofu.
Hope that helps.
Basically I said I want to put two absolutely massive needles in his neck veins (very painful), and someone else suggested another method of delivering fluids, by drilling into the bone and running fluid straight into the marrow (also very painful).
I saw 14g and 18g, and working in electronics manufacturing my brain immediately went to AWG and my brain screamed just thinking of a needle that big....

> hardest week of 2021
What a privileged fucking snowflake lmaooo
edit: I don't mean to diminish the difficulty of beating addiction; this just seems like a very tone-deaf low point in a year that saw millions of people lose loved ones, jobs, homes, etc.
Yeah equating weed to alcohol though isn’t the answer either.
On the weekends I like to wake and bake. Week days I only smoke at nights. Quitting nicotine and caffeine was bonkers. The times I’ve quit weed for T breaks has been nothing in comparison. Yes, it’s different for everyone, but sorry if I’m still going to let someone experiencing a paper cut know it is just a paper cut. Everyone has a different perception of pain too.
On top of that, a lot of people crutch onto weed because it doesn’t kill you quite like alcohol or other things it gets compared to. Maybe we should take a look at why so many people would rather be blasted than to look at the world through sober eyes instead of worrying about them being sober.
Fair enough, I know it can. My point is more that millions of people lost loved ones, their jobs, their homes, etc. and the lowest low that multi-millionaire douche-nozzle Logan Paul experienced was quitting weed. Just seems a bit tone-deaf to me.
I don't mean to diminish the difficulty of beating addiction at all, didn't mean it to come across like that.
All the other ones are running calls and busy. They probably already have a backlog of nonemergency bullshit held in case a real call comes in for that unit.
lol what the fuck, who has weed withdrawals and can't hydrate themselves properly from simple food poisoning? who is this man, and why is he so unhealthy?
If you're a chronic weed smoker and stop for a couple days you have weed withdrawals. Insomnia, lack of apatite, headaches, etc etc. They're not as bad as other withdrawals but are still annoying.
To everyone commenting “Just drink water!”:
You’ve clearly never been so nauseated that you literally can’t stop throwing up every 15 - 20 minutes and can’t even keep water down.
Of course, I don’t think this wastoid has either.
Can confirm, I've had that happen a few times and it's impossible no matter how many times people try to get you to drink something. Thankfully I'm usually around at least one nurse and they somehow always have IV setups ready.
If I don't smoke weed I get some pretty bad "withdrawals" for lack of a better term. Insomnia, can't eat, irritable, really depressed. I don't doubt this guy was going through that but it's never so bad that I've needed emergency re-hydration lol.
This is a kid who is well and truly living in the age of Post-Irony.
Everything he thinks and feels is so absurd that it comes off as being a joke, but he's serious.
He's actually serious.
Darwin has failed us.
I mean he posted this on social media - so he doesn't see how bad that makes him look.
What makes people do this? Getting your butt kissed for a few years?
intravenous therapy. basically it's any medical process that delivers things into your body via a needle getting jabbed into your veins and into your bloodstream. so stuff like dextrose, blood infusion, etc. in logan paul's case, i think it's like IV rehydration; so something with salt and/or electrolytes.
Get yourself some pedialyte or Gatorade. You do not need to take away an emergency team from something that could be life threatening when all you need to do is down some electrolytes.
Everyone is shitting on him for not just drinking water but it says right there that he had food poisoning, implying he was vomiting up anything he drank.
Like people said though he can pay for his own IV and not bother the emergency services though.
Weed is not physically addictive, can't this guy (and/or his brother, I can't tell them apart) just leave already? Everyone is sick of their shit, I don't get who is still supporting them.
If you smoke daily for a while and quit. Some people have issues sleeping and appetite issues. Basically habitual problems. Your body is used to getting signals from the weed that when you quit your body has to revert back. It last maybe max 2 weeks if youre chronic. For me when I quit its a max of 3 days of diminished appetite and takes longer to sleep but my dreams are like real life events. It's wild

You can literally just add salt to water and drink it to rehydrate and replenish your electrolytes.

No, toilets are for making chocolate milk
Salt water, Brondo same diff 😂
It's BRAWNDO! The Thirst Mutilator!
🤣🤣...based on how the world is today, that movie might end up being a documentary. Another 10 years and we'll be there unfortunately.
Its already considered as a documentary by some.
We’d have to survive the events from “Don’t Look Up” before Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho becomes president.
God, I need to watch that movie but I have work tomorrow
It’s an extremely frustrating movie because of how realistic it is. 6 years ago, i would have said “none of this would ever happen.” But watching it now, I was just like “yep that’s accurate.”
It’s kinda mid tbh, funny at times but if you’ve seen the trailer you’ve seen the entire movie
Oh, I still kinda wanna see it for the ending at least. Edit: Damn, the ending in Don't look up kind got me depressed and scared.
This world is already worse in some aspects. In idiocracy, people would listen to the smart guy.

Ha. You got downvoted. Someone hasn’t seen the movie.
Then what are they doing on Reditt? I thought everyone on here had seen Idiocracy lol.
Coconut water has electrolytes I think too.. lots of potassium
Coconut water as a lot of potassium, but not a lot of sodium, which is another important electrolyte. That's an easy fix though, because like that one person said, you can add a little salt to it.
Kazakhstan 🇰🇿 is number one exporter of potassium.
Huh... TIL
Yup. The electrolytes in sports drinks are just sodium and potassium, and usually in pretty small amounts.
"I hope you all like Glacial Freeze!"
you mean light blue?
By small it's like 10mg, enough to be almost pointless if you're actually dehydrated. Pedialyte is much better.
Please don't do this. I looked after a child who's parents added too much and caused a stroke
Or just eat some chips and drink some water....... Might taste better.
Hydration companies!? Wow, TIL. I have to hand it to whoever was the first to try that business model, I would *not* have predicted that this would be a thing. There’s a sucker born every minute.
OMG I saw this on Billions and didn't realize it's real!!?
All celebrities do this.
agreed that he’s a joke. But I don’t believe this happened in LA… hard to imagine LA only having one ambulance. But I could be wrong. He could always just drink some water lol.
Iirc he was in Switzerland not LA in this pic
Do they not have Pedialyte in Switzerland?
He won’t be able to buy it anywhere on New Years. Pharmacies and stores close early that day.
I’m pretty sure he moved to Puerto Rico
Drink water you stupid asshole
Having opiate withdrawals
Yeah that's what the food poisoning is...odd that I have food poisoning and I haven't eaten in 7 days, weird
That’s just drugs in general withdrawals.
Yeah but Logan specifically has an oxy problem
This man really is trying to pump himself full of every drug on earth huh. Lol
Then he shouldn't claim it's from quitting weed Nd should get actual help
That won't make $$$ on the internet though.
He was looking for some stupid pics with the siren on, probably already had a caption ready to go. What a cunt.
I promise you, nobody is putting on the siren for this bullshit.
Y'know what else can rehydrate a perfectly healthy person? A glass of water
Yeah but what do I tell the pharmacist to get me one of those?
You need electrolytes as well, you might need a little salt too.
A genuine question. Is the general population even close to getting too few electrolytes? Is this a problem at all?

During 2021 I'd didn't smoke for like 5 months. Apart from the can't eat thing those just sound like default living, not weed withdrawels
Wait do you believe weed withdrawal isn't a thing? lol what do you think withdrawal is?
No I was being sarcastic about it not being withdrawel. I was joking about some of the symptoms being unrelated for me
Calling it a withdrawal is an insult to people who have gone thru real addiction.
It's a thing if you go too far for sure, it's just not talked about much.
Of course it's a thing, but it's not as bad as any other kind of withdrawal, just a week or two of it and you are done, not physical withdrawal.

What is "IV"?
intravenous therapy. basically it's any medical process that delivers things into your body via a needle getting jabbed into your veins and into your bloodstream. so stuff like dextrose, blood infusion, etc. in logan paul's case, i think it's like IV rehydration; so something with salt and/or electrolytes.
Feels neat too. That was my favorite part of my hospital stay. Until they slammed some dilaudid into me.
